Story
Overstimulated Cats:Simba is a high-energy (overstimulated) cat. Overstimulated cats can often play rough, nip, scratch, and become over-the-top way too quickly and sometimes these behaviors happen because of too much petting or attention. Most of the time these cats are very friendly, affectionate, and love attention; however, they can strike out in a short amount of time. Learn to know when your cat is becoming overstimulated and stop petting them as soon as the behaviors begin. It is best to not encourage overstimulated behaviors so you can `teach` your cat how to accept attention appropriately. Use toys such as feather wands, balls, and toy mice to help distract your cat. Also have several interactive play sessions with him/her daily to help get his energy out!

Story
Hello, I`m Corduroy! I am a little on the timid side, so it took me some time to open up to people here, but with lots of love and patience the staff and volunteers have helped me learn to trust again. I may need time to open up in my new home, and a quiet sanctuary room will help me do this. Ask staff for more information about the 3-3-3 rule!** Corduroy is not a cat who will instantly settle into his new home - he needs a cat savvy person who will be patient with him and allow him to adjust on his terms. The best home for him will be more on the quiet side without young children. **

Story
Hi, I’m called Noggin Dude, but my foster mom calls me Precious which makes me feel loved. I’m around two years old so, life started out a bit rough but I’m enjoying living in a home. My needs are simple, a quiet home indoors with lots of love, cheek and head scratches and treats. I’m shy and can get nervous with sudden movements and toys. Please have patience with me while I learn that toys are fun. I do love scratching posts (the flat ones) and I’m enjoying my first cat scratching stand. My favorite things are napping on a soft bed in the sunshine or cuddling in a lap. My foster mom says my purr is purrfection and that I give the best “kitty kisses”!**Noggin Dude is FIV+, so it is recommended that he be the only feline in the home. He came to the shelter with a large wound on his back and was treated by our veterinary team. Cats with FIV can experience slower healing, so he spent time in a foster home for close monitoring. His wound has been healing well with time. He will likely have a large scar and little to no hair over the area, though some fur may grow back over time. Continued follow-up with your primary care veterinarian is recommended to monitor his long-term health.**Please contact Noggin Dude`s foster mom, Patti at Ranpat@comcast.net to inquire about Noggin Dude or set up a visit. Please allow up to 24 hours for Patti to respond.
