Birdie is a sweet and resilient girl with a gentle soul and an inspiring story of strength. She was found at the Collison’s golf course, where it became clear she had recently given birth. Her kittens were safely found and brought in as well, and Birdie lovingly cared for them until they were old enough to be weaned. When Birdie arrived, her walk seemed a bit off, and her belly was noticeably swollen. At first, it was suspected she might still be pregnant, but a vet exam revealed she was actually unable to urinate properly and her bladder was extremely full. The cause isn’t entirely clear, but it may be related to past trauma or nerve damage. With veterinary support, her bladder was safely relieved, and since then she has made amazing progress. She now uses the litter box on her own and is doing great with it! Birdie still walks with a bit of a wobble, likely due to lingering nerve issues, but she gets around just fine and continues to improve. She doesn’t require any ongoing medication or special care and lives comfortably just as she is. Now that her kittens are weaned, Birdie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV tested. She’s ready for her forever home — one where she can finally relax, be pampered, and enjoy life as the cherished companion she was always meant to be. She’s very affectionate, enjoys a calm environment, and while she can coexist with some other cats, she’d be perfectly content as your one and only.
