This sweet girl came into our lives as a stray about two months ago. She's around 9 months old, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has been adjusting beautifully to life around people. She is affectionate, curious, and clearly wants to bond, especially with someone who gives her gentle attention and time to build trust. While she loving and mellow with people, she does not do well around dogs. We have a dog at home (who is great with her), but she hisses or avoids him, and the tension has made it difficult for her, and for us, to keep peace in the home. Because of that, we think she'd thrive best as an only pet or in a home with other cats only (possibly), ideally in a quiet environment. We truly love her and want her to go to a home that can give her the peace and security she needs. She's a good cat with a lot of potential to be someone's loving companion for life. We'll gladly provide a litter box, carrier, and whatever food we have left to help with the transition. Near 52501

Our adoption hours are Tuesday-Friday 3-6PM and 1-5PM on the weekends. We are located in Burlington, Iowa. My name is Boo and I am a gray domestic shorthair. I am an intact male (I will be neutered before I am adopted) and I am 3 years and 3 months old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 04/20/2025 due to the fact my owner had too many other pets. They were my family for 3 years. I am used to staying both inside and outside during the day, and both inside and outside during the night. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a high energy cat and I will need an owner with some prior pet owning experience. I dash out open doors or windows if given the opportunity. I would do best in a setting with two doors between exterior doors, such as a screened in porch or hallway, or to be shut in another room or in a kennel before any doors or windows are opened. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other cats and I can be good with dogs.All cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and cats over 6 months of age are tested for heartworms. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Cats are vaccinated against distemper and rabies, receive a flea preventative, are spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
