Story
Birthday: May 28, 2014 Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Spiro has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts him. Don't let this boy fool you: he's as spry as they come! While he may not be a lap cat, he will absolutely become your shadow. He loves to be near his person. He enjoys a quiet petting session and can also take one heck of a pet too! Spanks and full back rub downs get his motor-boat purr going.  If you're looking for someone who will be excited for your return home, look no further. Spiro is ready to greet you and create a "welcome home routine" of purrs and pets.    One of Spiro's all time favorite activities is to be brushed. He loves to rub his chin real hard into the wires and have his jawline brushed down past his shoulder, like a little kitty massage.  His favorite places to curl up are in the sun and near his person. He even curls up on a heating pad in the winter to sleep cozy and comfy. If a heating pad isn't available, sometimes he'll just make a little nest in your bed to rest while you're away.    This senior boy has so many cute quirks that make him... him!  Spiro's adoption donation is $75 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and neuter.  If you would like more information on Spiro, please contact Sarah at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. If you would like to fill out an online application, please visit https://lovingcarecatrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/  Please note:  LCCR does not allow our adopted cats and kittens to be declawed.  All adopted kitties are to be kept as indoor-only pets.If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please fill out the online application at https://alovingcarecatrescue.org/adoptionapplication.html March 7, 2026, 12:27 pm

Story
Birthday: November 1, 2021 Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Punkin Pie has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts her. Punkin' Pie is just as sweet as pie!  Her loving behavior towards humans can make anyone coo in adoration!  It's a miracle that this girl loves humans this much especially after what she endured prior to her rescue.  Humans can be a cruel species, and she experienced it firsthand.  Kids would abuse her - hurt her for the fun of it.  One day, they wondered if the saying, "all cats land on their feet" held any merit.  They grabbed Punkin Pie, took her to the second story of a building, and threw her out of the window.  This fall caused her left leg to fracture.  Thankfully, she was retrieved by rescuers and received medical attention.   If you were to meet Punkin' right now, you'd never know that she met with such cruelty! Her leg is all healed, and she zooms all around the house like the Flash!  Not to mention she has the good looks and personality of a celebrity!  There's no denying that she's cute, but there are times where she can be a ham!  Toys are her go-to pastime!  Punkin' will carry them in her mouth like a child with a teddy bear.  She'll then give them to her humans to tell them its playtime!  She may not like being held, but she's starting to think she might!  She would love to be in a quiet, adult-only home, where she can be doted to the highest degree! Because of this, Punkin' wants to be the only pet in the household.  But that's an easy task! You won't need another pet if you have this lovebug waiting for you at home!  This girl is always with you through the thick and thin, and we have to agree, no one would have a better companion than Punkin' Pie! Punkin Pie's adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. If you would like more information on Punkin Pie, please contact Essie at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. Story
Albert's Birthday: August 15, 2008 Freddie's Birthday: August 23, 2009 Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Albert and Freddie have watercolor portraits which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts them. If you want to talk about a rough situation, then you should listen to Albert and Freddie's story.  The pair were raised with a family in Schuykill County.  Things weren't going so well with their mother and father. The kitties were left alone in the basement of the house while their mother was out of the house and their father made deliveries as an OTR truck driver. He would be gone days at a time and relied on neighbors to care for the two kitties. As a divorce loamed over the air and a potential sale of the home, the couple refused to send the cats to a shelter for fear that they would be put down due to their age.  They contacted LCCR to care for the cats for a few months until the house was sold and the man found another place to live.  Well, the deadline came and went, and the man ghosted the foster.  As sad as it is, Albert and Freddie have finally overcome the scary new living situation, and they're ready to find a home! These two are incredibly adorable! They've become less afraid of strangers and even walk right up to people whenever they come over their house.  They're equally relaxed as they are playful! They love their grooming sessions, always wanting to look their best.  They're both intelligent as well; they'll come running when you call for them and answer to a dinner bell ring when it's mealtime! Now you might be wondering what each kitty is like.  Well, let's dive deep! Albert is the older of the two cats.  He's cuddly and chill, but he can be a bit of a busybody! He will walk all over the house, making sure everyone is fine. Once he sees that they are, he will curl up in his favorite spot and relax for a bit! If you have a vacant lap, he'll eye it and sit next to you.  He would rather lean up against you as you pet him. Once you get him purring, oh boy! Echoes of his little engine will ring through the house! He's a strong, lean guy with the most expressive eyes you'd ever see! It may not look it, but his fur is incredibly silky soft!  If he's in a playful mood, he will chase and hunt for his toys, such as his laser pointer! If he sees a tunnel, he'll run though it! His favorite pastime is cuddling next to Freddie. Freddie is the younger guy who looks to her brother-from-another-mother for comfort and cuddles.  She's a shy, but sweet little girl with the prettiest eyes and cutest little meow! She can be a sassafras at times, but she's never a spicy munchkin! Once she warms up to you, it's all over! Loving up is what she's all about! She gives the most adorable shy kisses, and she loves to cuddle on her terms.  Her coat is just as fluffy and soft as her brothers.  When she wants to play, she opts for the feather wand! However, like Albert, she loves to chase the laser and run through crunchy tunnels! Albert and Freddie's adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and neuter and spay   . Story
Birthday: October 19, 2018 Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Laurel has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts her. Laurel is sitting up high on her laurels!  This one-of-a-kind girl loves to tell you about her day and a story or two!  She's always striving to find new things to investigate just so she can tell you about it!  Always yearning for knowledge, this intelligent little lady will always wonder what's going on in the world!  Through her adventures, she's discovered the wonders of ping pong balls!  You can throw one around the house, and she will run after it like she was a cop chasing a jailbreaker!  She's climbing to the high peaks in her foster home and plays like she's a young kitten! Laurel will strike up a conversation with anyone!  It can be a person or another animal!  She doesn't mind calm, respectful puppy dogs; she also respects smaller animals, including rabbits and guinea pigs!  Initially, we thought that whenever she looked at the window and saw birds, she would talk to them as if they were buddies.  Little did we know that she was actually telling them off!  We guess she isn't much of a bird lover!  Though she is a social butterfly, Laurel wishes that her new home doesn't have any young children.  Plus, she wants to be the only cat in her household!  She's become a little "Regina" in her feline social circle, and we don't want any bullying to happen! Laurel is an incredibly active kitty!  It's hard to believe that this girl has diabetes!  She's currently under a special diet and given insulin twice a day to manage it!  If we weren't the ones administering it, we'd wouldn't have ever guessed!  We are starting to think she's too sweet for her own good!  Sure, she has an active side, but she also has a loving side!  She'll follow you around the house and stay close by your side.  She can't stand the thought of you being lonely!  In fact, she'd sit on your lap all day if you let her! Laurel's adoption donation is $50 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. If you would like more information on Laurel, please contact Jessica at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. Story
Birthday: June 8, 2022 Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Joliet has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts her. This four-year-old mama arrived in June 2024 after raising a litter of kittens. With motherhood behind her, she’s ready to focus on herself. She’s an independent girl who prefers her own space and would thrive as the only cat in the home. She’s currently on a weight-loss journey and will need an adopter willing to keep her on track with a healthy routine. A quiet home with someone who appreciates a more aloof companion would be ideal for her. Can you imagine walking through West York only to find a cat in active labor? Well, that's what happened on one spring morning for one woman!  She noticed that  Joliet was about to give birth and took it upon herself to give her a safe place to have her litter. She brought Joliet inside, where the mama cat gave birth to six beautiful kittens! She was grateful for the save and treated her kittens with the upmost care and love! However, now that her litter is grown up, she's ready to find a home for herself! Joliet is a quiet kitty who is still learning how humans work.  She's a bit anxious around people, but she's slowly warming up to her foster family.    However, she does have a curious and gentle nature about her that makes her a treat to watch sometimes. There are times where she even shows off her intellect that can surprise anyone!    Joliet will need to have her food closely monitored, she just doesn’t know when to stop! Joliet's adoption donation is $115 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. If you would like more information on Joliet, please contact Debbie at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com.To complete an online application, please visit https://lovingcarecatrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/  Please note:  LCCR does not allow our adopted cats and kittens to be declawed.  All adopted kitties are to be kept as indoor-only pets.If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please fill out the online application at https://alovingcarecatrescue.org/adoptionapplication.html March 7, 2026, 12:27 pm
