Story
Birthday: September 7, 2019 If you want to talk about a kitty-lover, no human alive can even come close when you compare them to Kandy!  This girl is a cat girl!  She always has been even when she was a stray!  Kandy was rescued when she was about a year old while she was wandering around Harrisburg during the summer of 2020.  Little did her rescuers know that they didn't just rescue one kitty; they rescued 4!  That's right!  Little Kandy was pregnant with kittens!  Thankfully, they were delivered safely to the delight of their mother.  She was incredibly attentive mama who didn't let them out of her sight!  Once they were all adopted, Skitzer decided it was her turn to find a family! It wasn't easy initially!  The poor girl was very skittish around humans initially.  It took about a year for her foster parents to show her that humans aren't all scary!  Once she became used to them, she began to show them a bit of love too!  It went from hiding behind furniture to being held like a baby!  Maybe not for the longest periods, but she loved every second of it!  She'll only blossom more if she finds a home with people who are interested in socializing her and make her feel safe! However, NOTHING compares to her love for her brethren!  She somehow managed to develop a friendship with other kitties in her foster home though mutual grooming and cuddling!  She may even warm up in her future family home if they have a kitty buddy for her!  Don't worry though!  She's one of the most passive cats you've ever see, and if there is already a "top dog" in the house, she will be submissive towards them. Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Kandy has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts her.  Kandy’s adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative) , spay and microchip.  If you would like more information on Kandy, please contact Jamie at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. Story
Birthday: October 19, 2018 Laurel is sitting up high on her laurels!  This one-of-a-kind girl loves to tell you about her day and a story or two!  She's always striving to find new things to investigate just so she can tell you about it!  Always yearning for knowledge, this intelligent little lady will always wonder what's going on in the world!  Through her adventures, she's discovered the wonders of ping pong balls!  You can throw one around the house, and she will run after it like she was a cop chasing a jailbreaker!  She's climbing to the high peaks in her foster home and plays like she's a young kitten! Laurel will strike up a conversation with anyone!  It can be a person or another animal!  She doesn't mind calm, respectful puppy dogs; she also respects smaller animals, including rabbits and guinea pigs!  Initially, we thought that whenever she looked at the window and saw birds, she would talk to them as if they were buddies.  Little did we know that she was actually telling them off!  We guess she isn't much of a bird lover!  Though she is a social butterfly, Laurel wishes that her new home doesn't have any young children.  Plus, she wants to be the only cat in her household!  She's become a little "Regina" in her feline social circle, and we don't want any bullying to happen! Laurel is an incredibly active kitty!  It's hard to believe that this girl has diabetes!  She's currently under a special diet and given insulin twice a day to manage it!  If we weren't the ones administering it, we'd wouldn't have ever guessed!  We are starting to think she's too sweet for her own good!  Sure, she has an active side, but she also has a loving side!  She'll follow you around the house and stay close by your side.  She can't stand the thought of you being lonely!  In fact, she'd sit on your lap all day if you let her! Laurel's adoption donation is $50 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. Story
Birthday: July 8, 2020 We have a Mocha for you that is the perfect blend of all personality traits!  She has that mixture of sweet and sassy that just hits home differently from other kitties!  She gives class a whole new meaning, and her looks only accentuate this personality!  With a big personality like hers, she would be perfect as an only kitty.  However, she's willing to have another kitty sibling as long as they are accepting of her. As long as you respect her needs, she'll respect yours in return!  She's amicable like that, and she grows a deeper connection with her humans when they do.  Whenever someone disrespected her boundaries (i.e. pick her up or pull her out of her hiding place), she would defend herself by biting them.   As long as you can follow these two rules of hers, Mocha would be the partner you'd never thought you needed! Sweetness is only as good as you put into someone, and Mocha is chock full of it!  Once she gets used to you, she will shine through like you've never seen her previously.  She loves attention, and she will do anything to get some pettings!  She loves to love, and it definitely shows!  When Mocha first arrived at her foster's home, she was a scared and stressed little kitty.  By the time her foster got through to her, she became the most loving and relaxed kitty!  It was a complete 180 degrees!  One of the ways to break through the ice with her is to have soft ball toys for her!  We can assure you that she'd be anything but relaxed!  It's like she saw a soccer ball and turned into an athlete!  Give her some love, and she'll show you some tricks! Mocha's adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip and spay. Story
Sylvie's Birthday: October 4, 2020 Katarina's Birthday: October 15, 2021 The best things come in twos and nothing speaks this truth louder than Mama Sylvie and her little one Katarina!  The mother-daughter bond is strong between these two, and it seems like nothing can tear them apart.  This is why we wish for them to find a loving home, where there's not only room for them, but also patience!  Though they are a shy pair, they have a certain goofy curiosity to them that makes them incredibly hard to ignore! Sylvie has always been a cautious kitty.  When she gave birth to her beautiful brown tabby daughter, she realized that there is more to life than being afraid.  Although it's taking her some time to come out of her shell, she's willing to step out of her comfort zone, especially if it's for her little girl!  In fact, it's because of Katarina that she was able to see the bright side of life!  She helped her mama learn how to play and even helped her mama when she was delivering her last litter!  Katarina is her mama's little helper and best friend. Of course, this is a two way street.  Sylvie is always watching out for her daughter.  Katarina and her have developed a tag team mission where Kat will usually let her mother know when it's "safe" and she'll come to check things out.  SEAL team 6's teamwork couldn't compare to this family duo!   If you want to get to know these two better, we'll break things down for you to make things easier!  First, tuna is their love language!  Second, they LOVE to play with feathers and goof around with there's a human interacting with them!  If you touch a feather, they're immediate reaction is, "Make it do tricks!"  Third, while they might not give two fluffs if you're sitting on the couch or not, they are incredibly curious when humans are around their litter boxes or food dishes!  Granted, wouldn't you be wondering why people are messing with your food and... "surprises" all the time?  If you have a home ready for double the love, these two would be happy to volunteer their services and provide you with the best entertainment around town!   Katarina and Sylvie's adoption donation is $165 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. Story
Birthday: May 15 2022 Charlotte currently lives in York, PA. Kind, nurturing, loving, sweet... these are all great words to describe this little lady!  Charlotte, or more affectionately known as Char-Char, dotes on everything and anything she comes into contact.  Discrimination is a word that is unknown to her, and she feels everyone deserves all the love she can give!  It's incredibly hard to believe how anyone could dump a cat like her! You heard right.  Char-Char was dumped in a remote fishing area to fend for herself.  Whenever a fisherman would come by, she would run up to them in hopes of receiving any form of help.  After a bit of time, someone notified LCCR, and rescuers swooped in and took her from that horrible life. You would think she suffered some form of trauma from the whole thing, but if anything, she's become more affectionate! Char-Char feels its her life's duty to befriend everything living thing she meets!  She loves other kitties, and she even made a best friend at her foster home!  She may not have had a lot of experience with doggies, but with her temperament, as long as they are calm and cat-friendly, she's probably willing to give them a chance!  Kids?  They're just little humans, and we all know how much she loves humans!  In fact, they are her de facto favorite!  She always needs to be the first one to receive pets, and she'll reward the human who does so with a constant purr!  She'll cuddle with you until the sun goes down, making sure you never feel lonely!  She absolutely loves to play, which is why she thinks the little humans are a riot!  They know how to REALLY play! Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Charlotte has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts her. Story
Birthday: November 21, 2021   No one can turn down a good loaf of bread!  So, why not take one of our doughy delights?  Baguette would be a great addition to anyone who's willing to love her!  She was found as a stray living under a porch, and she wasn't alone!  She had two little ones named Croissant and Pretzel who called her mom, and a friend of the family named Pumpernickel!  Together, they lived in this harsh environment and relied on each other's company to make it day to day.   After a rescuer discovered them and sent them to LCCR, the four realized their lives were going to be a whole lot different!  Baguette and Pumpernickel were incredibly wary of humans, but after they witnessed the two kittens befriend the human fosters, they started to see that they might be able to adapt.  Baguette is still fairly hesitant around humans, but she still building up her confidence.  As long as her humans are willing to give her time to adjust and love, she will be more self assured that no one will harm her.  Right now, she's beginning to allow people to pet her, which is a huge accomplishment!  She won't even mind if she has a canine sibling as long as they're a calm puppy dog!  She has the potential to be a great kitty who can make you feel like you've been missing out with her! Baguette's adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. If you would like more information on Baguette, please contact Ellyn lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com.
