Story
Lexi is an awesome dog! She is super friendly, and loyal, bonding quickly to her people. She loves to play a game of fetch, and looks to her people to learn, play, engage and have FUN! Lexi does well with her commands such as sit, lay down, take it and drop it. Because she is a high energy dog she would do best in an active household who have experience with large dogs (she weighs ~55+lbs). She is quite food motivated, so having treats on you would be great, she also loves to learn. SHe is a great hiking, jogging or running partner! Lexi resides with a playmate at our Sanctuary and they come out to go on runs with the side-by-side buggy, she LOVES IT! And there is nothing better than a romp at the creek or at least a dip in the trough/pool! Lexi is a playgirl and a tomboy, she loves affection, playing with people and dogs, loves toys, and being an important part of her people's lives! Lexii loves being the center of attention, and so may be easiest as an only dog in the home, but for dog savvy folks, who engage in training and creating boundaries where needed she can co-house. She is currently taking a break at the Milo Sanctuary and living with three other dogs - happily! She has a beautiful golden, brindle coat and is a nice size, lean and athletic, perfect for wide open spaces and running. ADOPTION FEE: $550

Meet Holly — the gentle, blue-eyed beauty who’s been patiently waiting for her forever family. Holly has made incredible strides during her time in foster care. After a year of waiting and a few moves along the way, she may be a little shy at first — but give her a moment, and you’ll discover the sweetest, goofiest soul, calm, gentle, and overflowing with quiet love. Lately she's been way less scared at loud noises, traffic etc, and even learned how to use the dog door! She’s also wonderfully easy to live with — potty trained, great on leash, a champion car-ride companion, dog-friendly with pups of all sizes, and a very low barker. Her dream day? Curling up in a cozy bed and soaking in the peace. Holly would thrive in a relaxed home with older kids or adults. Her forever home would just need to give her time to adjust and she will prove to be the easiest dog. For the right family, she’ll be the most loyal, soothing presence you could ask for.

Story
Luffy — a lovable pup at 40lbs with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Luffy is a playful, social butterfly who’s always ready to make new friends, whether they’re humans, kids, or fellow dogs. She already knows “Sit,” responds well to gentle corrections, and thrives on affection and praise during training sessions. Luffy loves being part of the action and will happily lean in for pets and cuddles after a fun play session. Because of her energetic and outgoing personality, she’ll do best in a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs and burn off some of that adventurous spirit. She’s great with kids and would make an excellent companion for an active family looking for a fun-loving best friend. Luffy is eager to keep learning, so continued training classes will help her build confidence and polish her manners while strengthening the bond with her new family. If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky companion who brings excitement, affection, and endless smiles, Luffy might just be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Willow Wags, the tall drink of wag-ter! Willow Wags is a big dog sweetie with a tail that never takes a day off, her happy tail deserves its own fan club. One swish from Willow and your bad mood doesn’t stand a chance! She’s large and in charge… of giving love, that is. This gentle giant specializes in full-body tail wags, oversized cuddles, and the kind of sweet puppy eyes that should probably come with a warning label. Willow Wags is ready to branch out and plant herself right in your heart. If you’ve got room on your couch (and in your life) for a whole lot of happy, Willow is ready to wag her way home with you! Here's some notes from her foster: Meet Willow Wags, a sweet and gentle 60-pound soul who is ready to bring an abundance of love and cozy companionship to her forever home! This lovely senior girl treats overnight down-time like an art form, happily snoozing the night away on a plush rug or a comfy sofa, and she loves to sit elegantly like a true princess. She is incredibly food-motivated and loves diving into treat puzzles, which makes building a bond and working on her training a fun, rewarding experience. A patient adopter willing to use those favorite tasty treats to guide her through new routines will be rewarded with a fiercely loyal, wonderfully calm best friend. When bringing Willow Wags into your home, keeping the 3-3-3 rule for rescue dogs in mind is a wonderful way to help her transition. It took this sweet girl about three days to feel comfortable enough to really settle in and eat, and about a week before she began to show us those first beautiful signs of relaxation in the house. Giving her that initial quiet patience allows her true, sparkling personality to shine through at her own perfect pace!

Story
Meet Handsome! Some dogs wear their stories on their faces. Handsome wears his in his heart. This striking 2-year-old Catahoula mix arrived at the shelter in rough condition—underweight, and unsure of the world around him. Despite everything he`d been through, Handsome never stopped showing people that he wanted to trust. With time, patience, and care, he`s begun to reveal the wonderful dog hiding beneath his cautious exterior. Handsome is a sensitive soul who forms deep connections with the people he trusts. While he can be reserved when meeting new people and may initially seem timid or uncertain, he quickly begins to relax when approached gently. Once he feels safe, he leans into affection, seeks out his favorite people, and shows just how much love he has to give. This handsome boy thrives with calm, thoughtful handling. Fast movements and overwhelming situations can make him uncomfortable, but he recovers well when given patience and reassurance. Because of his sensitive nature, he`d likely do best in a home without small children. Handsome also has a playful side that emerges once he`s comfortable. He absolutely loves toys and enjoys spending time exploring, learning, and interacting with his people. As his confidence has grown, so has his ability to enjoy life. When it comes to other dogs, Handsome is something of a peacekeeper. He enjoys polite canine interactions and has shown friendly curiosity toward well-mannered dogs. However, he`s not a fan of chaos or conflict. If another dog becomes reactive, loud, or invades his space aggressively, Handsome may become uncomfortable and can mirror that energy. Because of this, he would do best with calm, socially appropriate canine companions and an owner who understands dog behavior and introductions. Handsome is looking for more than just a home—he`s looking for someone willing to continue building his confidence and helping him discover how good life can be. Handsome has already overcome more than many dogs ever should. Now he`s ready for the happy ending he deserves—a family who sees beyond his past and believes in his future. For the person willing to earn his trust, Handsome will be more than a pet. He`ll be a devoted companion, a loyal friend, and proof that sometimes the most beautiful transformations happen when someone finally gets a second chance. Could Handsome`s next chapter be with you?
