I'm currently on a sleepover and not at the adoption center. If you are interested in meeting me, I'll be back on 9/25. Hi there- I'm Luna! I'm a one year old, spayed female, 62 lbs., Catahoula mix dog who looking for my new pack! I am seeking folks who will assist me in navigating this wide world. I may see a bit aloof when first meeting, but if we play ball I will be your friend quickly. I can be timid but I have a heart of gold and I'm waiting for the right family to give all my love to. I would do best with folks who have had large breed dogs like me! I would love to meet the entire household, including any resident dogs before going home. Come on down and hear all about me! If it's a good fit, let's meet! Ask for me- Luna ID#A0981065. I recently went on a hike with a PHS Volunteer! Here's how I did: I took Luna on the hike today - she was absolutely wonderful! She was happy to get in my car and go for a ride! She was super calm and sat in the backseat on the way over to Coyote Point. Luna was super calm the entire time we were waiting to get the hike started. She was so very easy to walk. She stayed by my side the entire time with no pulling of any kind. She was great with the other dogs and had no reaction to any bikers and runners passing by. She had a blast on the beach and actually ran into the surf with one of our volunteers! She loved her time in the water. She was truly a delight to spend time with - lovable girl!Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! Lulu Belle came to us extremely shy, however less than a week in foster care with other dogs she came out of her shell, more so every day, step by step she chose her safety and comfort zone, next thing we knew she was curled up on a dog bed on the couch! Lulu will put herself in a crate and likely it will make transitioning into a new home easier having a crate as an option - even with the door open... She is getting more comfortable on leash and out in the (suburban) world, she rides fine in a car, settling down pretty well. She came from the rural Central Valley so loud urban environments or new things like the beach (highly unlikely she has seen the ocean!) should be put on hold until she has climatized well to new surroundings and people. And she needs security, a safe haven in the world. She will climb onto your lap for love. Once she feels comfortable she will follow you around the house and out to a yard and she has starting to play well with other dogs, and liking toys alot! She is a chow hound for good treats... but Lulu Belle is a NO GO for a home with cats.

He gives big, raspy borks sometimes, but it feels more like a warning to the world that he’s tired and unsure. He walks well on leash. He isn’t overly affectionate but he loves food. Treats are his joy. He’ll catch them mid-air with impressive accuracy, and when offered a can of wet food, he allowed full handling without hesitation… then inhaled it like a man who’s learned food isn’t always guaranteed. Chief feels like a dog who is missing his person, the only constant he’s known, even if that life wasn’t perfect. Seniors feel loss deeply and shelters are especially cruel places for them.Chief did not test well with other dogs and may need to be the only pet. When tested, he showed clear discomfort and escalation when another dog got close. He needs a quiet, adult-only home, or a hospice foster, where he can rest, eat well, and feel safe for whatever time he has left. However he was found in 2021 with another dog in a hotel room so there may be potential outside of the shelter environment. ##2617110##

Tony is a sweet, handsome, goofy, and energetic lovebug! He wants nothing more than to play with his people and other dogs. He seems completely unbothered by the loss of one of his front legs, this boy is ready for action and love! Tony has been a longterm resident, coming to Milo in February of 2025, injured, alone and afraid. He was quickly given the care that he needed, receiving a pricey leg amputation to diminish his paid. Despite the traumas that Tony went through, that we will never know and can probably never imaging, Tony keeps his tail held high not giving up on finding his fuever family. Tony sees every person and dog as a friend and potential playmate. He has learned how to navigate the world with his new body and to walk on a leash with good manners, he is getting really good at "sit". He is also quickly learning that his crate is a happy place and does very well once inside and loves a good chewy toy or treat. Tony would be best in a home with a person/people who will nurture him with lots of love, exercise and continued training; he so badly wants to show that he's the goodest three-legged boy ever!
