The difference in adopting a puppy vs an adult or juvenile dog is, the older they are, the more of their true personality shows. Sunny was adopted as a tiny puppy, and all in all it was not the best match so he came back to the shelter, a much larger 8 month old catahoula and shepherd mix, probably 55-60 lbs . Sunny is a good boy but can be anxious and needs an experienced dog owner to be his leader, firm and fair. Sunny previously did well living with another dog but kids were a bit challenging, so ideally older children, also dog savvy. From my brief time with him during photos he was highly food motivated, gentle taking treats , good on leash and happy to get attention. Just looking at him, you can see he’s special. But he needs someone equally special that has the knowledge and determination to make Sunny the best dog ever and make him shine like the sun. Story
Lola is a sweet dog that loves affection and is highly treat motivated. Lola can be shy and a bit timid at first meeting new people sense her early years were spent in the shelter with dogs instead of a family. Even though she's a bit shy, she tends to warm up fast and is not aggressive with her shyness. Unusual things sometimes startles her since she's never been in a house but her foster has been working hard on showing her every new thing. Lola enjoys playing with other dogs and her toys, plus loves walks since she does have a lot of energy. She is working on her leash manners but does well with corrections and will not tug you off your feet. She is still very much a puppy and working on her basic manners but doing well with crate training. Lola has only met dogs and does awesome. She has met young children through her crate and licks their fingers but she has not met cats. Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and chipped. All Better World Rescue dogs come with complimentary group or private training to ensure a successful adoption.
