Story
Minnie is a sweet 2 year old hound mix. Gentle, quiet, and a little shy. Minnie is a bit reserved on first meeting but warms up given a minute and enjoys gentle pats and treats. She has a soft sweet energy and a kind heart. Minnie falls in love deeply when you are one of her people and she will follow you around and lie quietly waiting for you to give her attention. Like her puppies she is remarkably gentle and easy going and has moderate energy. She loves a good pack walk at the ranch where she is fostered but can often be seen meandering behind the dog pack enjoying sniffs and taking her time. Minnie has the patience of a saint with all the antics of the younger dogs in her foster home. She just sits quietly waiting for all the puppies to calm down! Minnie is learning about the world and is curious and a little cautious. But easily bribed with a treat she will jump In your car and happily go for an adventure. She is a perfect passenger in the car!! Minnie is great on leash and walks easily by your side. She loves strolls by the lake, hanging out in the shaded grass and being near her person. Minnie would love a home with gentle people and dogs who like walks and are easy going like her.

Story
Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog DOB: 6/2013 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white/tan merle Description: Hi, I'm Daisy, aka, Daisy Mae, a Catahoula Leopard Dog with a rare breed feature, a 'glass eye', meaning my blue eye is the lightest of blues of the breed, almost milky blue. Then of course I also have a brown eye! I am very friendly with people and most dogs. I am very affectionate and would love to snuggle at your feet or next to you while you watch TV or take a nice walk with you. I am best as an only dog as I am a food resource guarder with other dogs. I am under treatment for chronic anemia and I take medication for it. I may also need occasional blood tests. I lost my home with my 3 ‘siblings’ when our owner got sick and then sadly passed away after we were boarded at CARL for over a year. I’d love to be in a loving home to make up for lost time. If you need a loving, upbeat, grateful companion, I could very well be your girl. Please fill out an online application to meet me.March 7, 2026, 5:35 pm

Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog X DOB: 7/2024 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): brown brindle / white Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application.Hi, I'm Buttercup, a sweet and energetic Catahoula X with a not-so-sweet past. I was found tied to a locked U-Haul, and despite being rescued and taken to the shelter, my owner never replied. But that's all behind me now, and I'm ready to leave my old life in the dust and find my forever family.I love squeaky toys and cuddling. I am a playful soul who loves to explore and have fun. I walk well on a leash which is great because I'm curious about the world and always up for an adventure, especially if it involves my favorite people. I am good with other dogs outside of the home, but sometimes I can be dog reactive when on a leash . I prefer to be the Queen of my castle and don't always care to share my food, getting attention or my space. I'm not a fan of being left alone and would prefer my human to be around more than not. I enjoy going to the beach and just lounging too. I am affectionate and loyal, and good with children, but would do best in a home with children at least 6 years old. I know some basic commands 'come' and 'sit'. I know I can learn more with patience and positive training.I just want a second chance at a happy life and to give all my love and waggy-tailed enthusiasm to a new family. Could you be the one to show me that there is sunshine after the rain? I promise to brighten up your world with my playful spirit and loving nature. Fill out an online application to come and meet me, and let me show you that second chances can lead to the happiest of endings.*Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life.May 19, 2026, 1:22 pm

Story
Cheyenne is a 7 year old deaf Catahoula Leopard Hound mix. She came to us from a kill shelter in Alabama. She’s a beautiful girl who is a bit on the shy side, gentle, and she has lived with other dogs. Oh, and she’s a looker, too, with those bright blue eyes and merle coat. Cheyenne is a graduate of our Group Training Class, Basic Obedience. We wouldn't recommend that Cheyenne live with children, she prefers a quiet adult household. She would do best as an only dog. We're not sure about cats. To meet Cheyenne, please fill out an application for adoption:   http://www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html      Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Cheyenne.  November 3, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Hi, I’m a joyful, energetic girl who’s discovering just how fun life can be. I recently came to the shelter through our Humane Officers and have been embracing my fresh start with curiosity and excitement. I love stretching my legs, showing off my zoomies, and exploring everything around me. Toys? I adore them, especially the kind I can really get into! I may be a little shy when we first meet, but I warm up quickly and have so much playful personality to share. I’ve lived with children and other dogs before and did well with both. I’m energetic in the best way, I’d thrive with an active family who enjoys routine, enrichment, and plenty of playtime. If you’re looking for a fun, spirited companion who’s ready to run into her next chapter with you, I’m your girl.

Story
Logan is a very sweet 3 year old shepherd mix with a goofy, playful puppy personality. He loves people and wants to be everyone’s friend. Strangers included. Even though he is a big boy, 80 lbs, he would like to climb in your lap and give kisses. He loves to be cuddled and hugged. Logan has very puppy like energy. He loves to play with his toys and gathers all he can around him, large and small. He chews the toys but rarely destroys them. Logan also knows how how to sit, shake and “high five”. He takes treats politely from your hand. He loves to run around, jump over things and roll in the grass. He is really quite a funny and joyful guy! But he also takes corrections of “no” fairly well. He is a quick learner and has been able to learn rules in his foster home very well. Logan does fine with all dogs, large and small. In his former foster home he lived with four small dogs and three large dogs. He was mostly indifferent to them, not wanting necessarily to play with them but he coexisted with them peacefully. He is not reactive to the small dogs barking in his face. He loved going for walks with, Bear, a dog in his former foster home. Logan loves to go for walks and does well on a leash. He is a strong dog so some training to not pull would be helpful. When allowed loose in a protected area, he loves to run and slide into the grass and roll. He loved to play chase with his friend Bear. He is fairly non reactive to other dogs on walks unless they are overly engaging with him. He seems curious but not overly prey driven when seeing cats. Logan had may have had food deprivation in his previous life. He can be protective of his food with other dogs and should be fed separately. He is very intelligent and often stands in front of the space where the treats are kept and in front of the refrigerator. His foster mom fed him extra food and treats to help him realize that he won’t go hungry. And he was really improving. Logan is a talker!! He expresses his opinion about things LOL! When he is unhappy he sounds like a husky in the way he whines loudly. At his foster home he complained when he had to be separated from foster mom or the rest of the pack. He does not have separation anxiety. When foster mom leaves he never tries to follow her out of the front gate. He does well in car rides and enjoys looking out the window. He also seems to enjoy water as he walked in the shower with foster mom for a bath uninvited LOL! Logan’s ideal forever home would have people to love, cuddle, play and walk with. Because he does have so much puppy like energy it would be nice for him to have a yard to run around and play in. Big children would be great! He would love to have another dog to play and walk with. But he would do fine as an only dog too. Logan is young energetic puppy-like dog who would enjoy a home where there is space to roam and play. He would love a person who likes to take him places for hikes and adventures!. If you are looking for a loyal, loving dog, Logan could be your boy!! TO ADOPT LOGAN please send us an adoption application; allforloveanimalrescue.org/adoption-applicatio Ventura CA.
