Story
Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog DOB: 6/2013 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white/tan merle Description: Hi, I'm Daisy, aka, Daisy Mae, a Catahoula Leopard Dog with a rare breed feature, a 'glass eye', meaning my blue eye is the lightest of blues of the breed, almost milky blue. Then of course I also have a brown eye! I am very friendly with people and most dogs. I am very affectionate and would love to snuggle at your feet or next to you while you watch TV or take a nice walk with you. I am best as an only dog as I am a food resource guarder with other dogs. I am under treatment for chronic anemia and I take medication for it. I may also need occasional blood tests. I lost my home with my 3 ‘siblings’ when our owner got sick and then sadly passed away after we were boarded at CARL for over a year. I’d love to be in a loving home to make up for lost time. If you need a loving, upbeat, grateful companion, I could very well be your girl. Please fill out an online application to meet me.October 30, 2025, 2:30 pm

If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Buttercup, a sweet Catahoula X with a not-so-sweet past. I was found tied to a locked U-Haul, and despite being rescued and taken to the shelter, my owner never replied. But that's all behind me now, and I'm ready to leave my old life in the dust and find my forever family. I am a playful soul who loves to explore and have fun. I'm curious about the world and always up for an adventure, especially if it involves my favorite people. I am affectionate and loyal, and I appear to be good with other dogs, too. I just want a second chance at a happy life and to give all my love and waggy-tailed enthusiasm to a new family. Could you be the one to show me that there is sunshine after the rain? I promise to brighten up your world with my playful spirit and loving nature. Story
Chica is a loving senior cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be close to her people. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines—she’ll follow you from room to room, snuggle beside you on the couch, and happily burrow in for the coziest cuddles. Gentle, polite, house-trained, and wonderfully well-mannered, she’s great with other dogs on walks, enjoys calm interactions with kids, and settles beautifully when left home alone. Though she can be a little cautious with new things, Chica quickly learns to trust and is eager to share her soft, silly, affectionate heart with a patient, loving family ready to welcome her into her golden years. To meet Chica, email us at adoptla@bestfriends.org. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved. Reach out and see if Chica is the perfect match for you!

Story
Cheyenne is a 7 year old deaf Catahoula Leopard Hound mix. She came to us from a kill shelter in Alabama. She’s a beautiful girl who is a bit on the shy side, gentle, and she has lived with other dogs. Oh, and she’s a looker, too, with those bright blue eyes and merle coat. Cheyenne is a graduate of our Group Training Class, Basic Obedience. We wouldn't recommend that Cheyenne live with children, she prefers a quiet adult household. She would do best as an only dog. We're not sure about cats. To meet Cheyenne, please fill out an application for adoption:   http://www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html      Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Cheyenne.  November 3, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Meet Charli! A radiant one-and-a-half-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix currently in San Rafael, CA, whose spirit is as vibrant and speckled as her stunning blue leopard coat. With her bright eyes and endlessly wagging tail, Charli is a dazzling combination of brains, beauty, and boundless heart! Charli is the kind of pup who listens closely, literally cocking her head when you speak, as if she's trying to learn every word. She already knows commands like sit, wait, paw, come, lay down, and even a solid “no.” This clever girl thrives on engagement and loves being part of daily life. Whether she's going for a brisk hike, a playful romp with another dog, or a tug-of-war showdown with her favorite rope toy, Charli is always eager for fun and connection. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and spayed, ready to move in and start her next adventure! Her days currently begin with breakfast at sunrise and a good walk to stretch those strong legs and curious nose. While she's content in her crate at night or for short absences, Charli truly shines when she has companionship, especially the kind that includes belly rubs, puzzle toys, and a furry friend to play chase with in a fenced yard. Though she may come across as vocal when spotting other dogs on walks, her wagging tail and playful posture say, “Let’s be friends!” With proper introductions, she’s shown she enjoys doggie pals and would love to share her new home with a canine buddy who matches her energy and friendliness. She's also wonderful with older kids (10+), and her gentle, affectionate nature makes her a delightful cuddle buddy after a day full of activity. Charli is looking for a family who shares her love of the outdoors, her need for daily mental and physical stimulation, and her desire to be a true companion. Could your pack be the one she's been waiting for? If you're ready to meet this affectionate adventurer, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com! Charli’s heart is open, who will she share it with next?
