Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog X DOB: 7/2024 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): brown brindle / white Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application.Hi, I'm Buttercup, a sweet and energetic Catahoula X with a not-so-sweet past. I was found tied to a locked U-Haul, and despite being rescued and taken to the shelter, my owner never replied. But that's all behind me now, and I'm ready to leave my old life in the dust and find my forever family.I love squeaky toys and cuddling. I am a playful soul who loves to explore and have fun. I walk well on a leash which is great because I'm curious about the world and always up for an adventure, especially if it involves my favorite people. I am good with other dogs outside of the home, but sometimes I can be dog reactive when on a leash . I prefer to be the Queen of my castle and don't always care to share my food, getting attention or my space. I'm not a fan of being left alone and would prefer my human to be around more than not. I enjoy going to the beach and just lounging too. I am affectionate and loyal, and good with children, but would do best in a home with children at least 6 years old. I know some basic commands 'come' and 'sit'. I know I can learn more with patience and positive training.I just want a second chance at a happy life and to give all my love and waggy-tailed enthusiasm to a new family. Could you be the one to show me that there is sunshine after the rain? I promise to brighten up your world with my playful spirit and loving nature. Fill out an online application to come and meet me, and let me show you that second chances can lead to the happiest of endings.*Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life.October 8, 2026, 11:00 pm

Story
Moose hands down wins the award for the coolest looking dog this year. He was found in a shelter with his 8 siblings. We had room for one and Moose was it. What a fantastic, fun, playful well behaved pup. Moose is living at the beach with his foster and is enjoying an active lifestyle. He weighs around 48 pounds now. Moose will be a fantastic family dog. He is great with all people and dogs. Crate trained and house trained. C'mon... who wouldn't want this amazing dog as part of their family? All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
Meet Carter! Carter is a beautiful, purebred Catahoula Leopard Dog who is 7 years old. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves being around her people. This has been a very difficult decision for our family, but due to a combination of an upcoming move, expanding our family, demanding work schedules, and housing restrictions, we are no longer able to provide her with the home she deserves. Carter is wonderful with children and babies and has a gentle, loving personality. She also gets along well with other dogs. She does best with slow introductions to new dogs and should be fed separately during mealtimes. She enjoys an active lifestyle and would make an excellent companion for someone who loves running, hiking, biking, or spending time outdoors. At the end of the day, she’s just as happy curling up on the couch for cuddles. Our greatest hope is to find Carter a loving, attentive home where she can continue to thrive and receive the time and affection she deserves.

Story
Cheyenne is a 7 year old deaf Catahoula Leopard Hound mix. She came to us from a kill shelter in Alabama. She’s a beautiful girl who is a bit on the shy side, gentle, and she has lived with other dogs. Oh, and she’s a looker, too, with those bright blue eyes and merle coat. Cheyenne is a graduate of our Group Training Class, Basic Obedience. We wouldn't recommend that Cheyenne live with children, she prefers a quiet adult household. She would do best as an only dog. We're not sure about cats. To meet Cheyenne, please fill out an application for adoption:   http://www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html      Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Cheyenne.  November 3, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Meet Mocha, a beautiful approximately eight year old little soul with the sweetest personality and the most adorable swagger! She may be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet nature shines through. Mocha absolutely loves her treats and her food—and honestly, who can blame her? She’s cute as a bug’s ear and has a charm that will melt your heart. ❤️ Mocha is looking for a loving home where she can feel safe, take her time coming out of her shell, and be truly cherished for the special little girl she is. She deserves a family who will give her patience, love, and a lifetime of being spoiled. If you’re looking for a sweet little companion with an adorable personality and plenty of charm, Mocha just might be your girl! 🐾💕
