A shy and cautious boy, our handsome Kricket is looking for his forever home with a calm family who won't ask too much of him. Kricket is 8 years old and has been at Satchel's for 4 of those years learning to explore the world again one paw at a time. He may come up to you with worried eyes, but with a bit of encouragement and possibly a tasty treat, he will become your friend after a few meets. Kricket has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and enjoys a day off in the home every week where he gets his weekly bath and enjoys some air conditioned nap time. He goes great in the home, staying off furniture and no accidents. Kricket loves the frequent air conditioned van rides with Quentin (his Woof Pack leader), stopping for walks around the shopping center parking lots and Twin Lakes, always engrossed in investigating. Kricket walks great on leash, though if spooked, tends to pull back to home base. When he is comfortable, Kricket will show a smirking smile, sneak in a few kisses and a happy wagging tail. He is a very sweet boy underneath that spotty coat of his, and with patience and encouragement will be able to expand his horizons. Our very special, Ruby 🩷 We might be biased, but Ruby is one of the CUTEST freckle-faced puppies we’ve ever seen 💕 We have no idea what Ruby is or who her parents were, but she is the smartest, most amazing, fun-loving puppy that we can’t get enough of. Ruby is 9 months old and 36ish lbs. She doesn’t have huge paws and doesn’t seem to be growing super fast, so we would take a guess that she may be more of a medium/large dog and end up around 45lbs. About Ruby: 🌟 She LOVES dogs. She loves playing, chasing and cuddling up to them. She gives no personal space and will lay on a dog’s head 😂 She just assumes every dog is her friend and can’t get enough of her dog friends. 🌟 She LOVES people. PUPPIES READY AFTER 02/20 - But you can reserve one now! Frost is one of Zoe’s adorable puppies and is being lovingly raised in a foster home. These babies are growing up surrounded by care and attention, setting them up to become wonderful family companions. We helped another litter of Zoe's last summer, but weren't able to get her. This time, we got Zoe and she will be spayed after this. However, the DNA test from her last litter showed them to be 50% boykin spaniel because there is a neighborhood dog who visits her that is a purebred chocolate boykin. We think he is the dad again. Zoe is a mutt, with about 10 breeds in her from the DNA. Frost will be 8 weeks old on 02/20 and available to go home at that time under a foster-to-adopt agreement. This means adopters are committing to adoption from the start—this is not temporary foster care. Adoption will be finalized once spay/neuter surgery is completed. Prior to adoption, puppies will be age-appropriate vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. We are currently accepting applications to reserve this litter for their forever homes, and we encourage interested adopters to apply early to be considered. I assumed care of my sons 2 dogs because he is in the last stages of a 9 year cancer battle and can no longer care for them. They are brother and sister. I am surrendering the male because he is larger and has some health issues that I am not able to provide for properly while trying to work FT and help my son. I also live in a 1000 sq ft home and my backyard is a pool and shell which is not ideal for 2 large dogs. Yogi also is strong and I do not feel comfortable walking him by myself in case he were to become aggressive. He has epilepsy and takes medication every am and pm which controls his seizures He also has sensitive skin and needs weekly baths with Zyvox shampoo (avail on amazon) He loves attention. He will sit and shake. He loves to get a bath and will let me trim his nails. Meal times are his favorite time of day. He loves to lay in the sun. See above flyer for more details. He would do best with someone who is not very active and has a fenced yard for him to go out.
