Story
Beau is a sweet, smart, and affectionate 1-year-old dog (birthday 10/2/2023) who truly has a heart of gold. He’s emotionally intelligent, obedient, and so loving — a real people pleaser who just wants to make you happy. Beau lives peacefully with two female dogs and, as the newest member of the pack, he’s the bottom but never stirs up any fights. Instead, he gently absorbs the vibe around him and is always calm and adaptable. Beau is super quiet and well-behaved. When he’s not napping, you might catch him zooming around in bursts of playful energy or tossing his toys in the air for fun. He has no bad behaviors or aggression — he’s pure love with not a mean bone in his body. Unfortunately, due to increasing work commitments and frequent travel, I’m unable to give Beau the time and attention he deserves. He needs a loving home where he can thrive and be cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and sweet companion, Beau might just be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
If you're looking for a chill senior dog to hang with and be your number 1 companion and best friend, look no further - Kelly is the girl for you! Kelly has spent a number of years at Satchel's and recently went into a foster home to see how she would deal with life in a home. She settled into the home like she'd lived there her entire life and was the perfect house guest. Kelly loves meeting new people and getting belly rubs and kisses from everyone she sees on her walks. She walks well on leash, knows all basic commands and is very obedient. Car rides are one of her favorite outings (doesn't matter where to). She sits nicely as the co-pilot or will lay down in the back depending where you tell her to go. She doesn't much care for other four-legged beings and would prefer to be the only one in the home. For an appointment to meet Kelly, please submit the adoption application at satchelslastresort.org and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
A shy and cautious boy, our handsome Kricket is looking for his forever home with a calm family who won't ask too much of him. Kricket is 8 years old and has been at Satchel's for 4 of those years learning to explore the world again one paw at a time. He may come up to you with worried eyes, but with a bit of encouragement and possibly a tasty treat, he will become your friend after a few meets. Kricket has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and enjoys a day off in the home every week where he gets his weekly bath and enjoys some air conditioned nap time. He goes great in the home, staying off furniture and no accidents. Kricket loves the frequent air conditioned van rides with Quentin (his Woof Pack leader), stopping for walks around the shopping center parking lots and Twin Lakes, always engrossed in investigating. Kricket walks great on leash, though if spooked, tends to pull back to home base. When he is comfortable, Kricket will show a smirking smile, sneak in a few kisses and a happy wagging tail. He is a very sweet boy underneath that spotty coat of his, and with patience and encouragement will be able to expand his horizons. If you are looking for a friend to share new experiences with, but still like a cozy day in, Kricket would love to meet you! Kricket is uncertain of strangers and a few meets would be needed. For an appointment to meet him, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Story
Meet Maggie! Maggie is a 2-year-old, 56 lb Catahoula mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. She’s high-energy and thrives on daily exercise, making a fenced yard ideal. Once she’s had her fun, she settles down beautifully for cuddle time. Why You'll Love Maggie: Super affectionate and loves to snuggle, Smart, eager to learn, and motivated by food and praise, Loves people and considers everyone a friend, Great in the car and enjoys adventures,Friendly with other dogs after proper introductions. Things to Work On: Needs guidance with leash pulling and jumping when excited, Occasionally counter surfs, so food shouldn’t be left unattended, Can be reactive to some dogs on leash but improves with introductions, Not suited for a home with cats. Maggie’s perfect home is an active one, ready to give her love, training, and plenty of playtime. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic companion who will keep you laughing and cuddling, Maggie is your girl!   If you would like to meet me, please complete an online questionnaire and one of our adoption counselors will be reaching out to see if I will be a good fit for you and your home.  Hope to see you soon!  https://www.fluffanimalrescue.org/adoption-application My adoption fee includes my sterilization, microchip and registration, all core vaccines to date, dewormer and 1st month's Flea and Heartworm Preventatives.   Please only send inquiries to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Peaches: Sweet as Pie and Full of Love   Peaches has overcome incredible odds to get where she is today. Neglected and tied to a tree with no food, water, or shelter, she was moments away from being abandoned when a Heidi’s Legacy volunteer stepped in to save her. At 4 years old and 51 pounds, Peaches is now safe and thriving in her foster home—but she still needs your help.   Peaches has a permanent reminder of her rough past. She was heartworm positive for so long before rescue that it caused irreversible damage to her lungs. While she’s now heartworm-free, she needs daily medications to keep her healthy and comfortable. These medications, along with her food and ongoing care, come at a cost, and we’re looking for sponsors to help support her.   Her foster family absolutely adores her and would love to keep her forever. With your sponsorship, we can make that dream a reality for Peaches and the people who’ve given her a second chance at life.   Peaches is a sweet, playful girl with a soft spot for toys—she’ll happily chase, chew, and snuggle them to her heart’s content. She’s house-trained, crate-loving, and a total wiggle-butt when her people come home. A fenced yard or screened porch is her happy place, where she can bask in the sun and soak up the fresh air.   Peaches needs an experienced, dog-savvy handler who understands her boundaries. She prefers to be the only pet (no cats or kids, please!) and thrives in a calm, structured environment.   Your sponsorship could change Peaches’ life and ensure she stays safe, healthy, and loved in the home she’s come to know as her own.   Preferred Methods of Donations   PayPal: @heidislegacy   Venmo: @HLDR2002   Zelle: Heidi’s Legacy   Website: heidislegacydogrescue.com/donate   The email associated with these accounts is info@heidislegacydogrescue.com     Could you be the hero Peaches has been waiting for?
