We brought her home from the shelter in October 2017, when she was about 4 months old. She was a great dog. Gentle and playful with the senior dog we had until 2021, and gentle with our cats. She used to be generally well behaved with our cats besides chasing them if they would run. Otherwise she just liked to chew them like a corn cob. Unfortunately, she has become randomly aggressive to the cats over the the past couple years. She will snap at them with no warning and has caused serious harm. I have had to keep her in a spare bedroom for the majority of the time. I also started her on Prozac in hopes her demeanor would be more chill. I love her and want her to be happy but I can't provide what she needs - a home without cats and a human that will cuddle her, play, and give her quality attention. She has done great with 3 stranger dogs I've brought over in the past, so im assuming a home with other dogs will be good. She probably needs a dog friend and I won't get another dog.

Weezy is a 3 year old fawn colored Catahoula mix with four cute white mittens and a curled tail. She is affectionate with a quiet gentleness. When Weezy puts her head in your hand and looks into your eyes, all your cares melt away. Weezy was a stray.wandering the streets in St. Joseph Missouri. When rescued by TARA, The Animal Rescue Alliance, she was very thin and afraid of humans. She had been mistreated and lived rough on the streets. But we saw her sweet soul in her eyes. Weezy quickly adapted to her safe new home in a loft in downtown Kansas City. Her trust grew for her foster human and foster brother, Cai, a boisterous Welsh Cardigan Corgi. She greets the neighbors in the building and on the street with perfect manners. Weezy enjoys going on walks with and without her foster brother. City noises and the occasional squirrel do not faze her. She greets dogs politely and goes on her way. Weezy enjoys car rides and walks to local coffee shops where she sits at the foster’s feet, people-watching! If you want a gentle and devoted friend for life, Weezy is your lady. She lives for her peeps and her home. With her perfect manners and gentle soul, Weezy is a companion par excellence. Weezy has a heart overflowing with gentle kindness to all. Approximate Birthdate: 8/10/23 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.
