Story
Meet Auggie, our beautiful Catahoula/Shepherd friend with City of Raytown Animal Services! Auggie was abandoned by her owners and then ran in fear for days in the middle of a highway; she was even struck by a car at one point. Thankfully, Auggie is safe now. And despite everything she's been through, she's a sweet and loving girl. Auggie is around a year old and would love a home where she can fully relax, be leash walked, and build up her confidence. She has warmed up quickly to the staff caring for her with a slow introduction. A new forever home would allow her to get back to being the goofy young pup we know she is. She appears to like other dogs, too! Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information about this sweet baby. She's in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available to the right home.

Story
Approx. DOB:4/29/23                  Approx Weight: 43.5 Lbs Adoption Fee: $225 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Groucho is so gorgeous when you see him in person with his unique markings and color! Groucho came to Furry Kids Refuge from the Nevada Animal Shelter after it flooded.  He initially was surrendered to the shelter when his owner had to go to a nursing home.  Groucho,  we think he got his name because when he is playing with the other dogs he is very vocal and sounds like he is being a Groucho!  He is very playful and loves playing with the other dogs. But, he also would do great as a only dog because he loves people and the more one on one pampering he can get, the happier he is! We don't know if he is housebroken but he keeps his kennel clean and that's a good sign.  We are working on the leash training but he needs more work not to pull.  We are getting him a no pull harness which will help keep him from pulling and it will go home with the family who adopts him.  This handsome boy really stands out from the other dogs because of his gorgeous markings and colors. He is an unusual breed also.  Groucho loves being petted and snuggled with.  Let's get this boy adopted! Fill out the application and everyone gets a 2 week trial to be sure it's a good match for the family.  This is a great program to help families get a good match.  NO CATS I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Pet Location: Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I`ve had a hard life, but through it all I`m a sweet, silly girl!- During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs. - I have a lot of energy and need an active adopter! - I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info! My home needs are: - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous with too much petting.Hey there, my name is Bluey!I am a beautiful bridle color on my fur, and I have eyes that will melt your heart. I am learning about life and all things dog at the shelter. They have been taking wonderful care of me, but I dream every night of a home of my very own.My ideal home would have lots of soft doggie beds, yummy food, and maybe a yard for me to sunbathe in (when it`s about 70 degrees). In the cold months I would be so happy to warm the couch cushions and snuggle with you. Please come meet me soon so we can start to spend our lives together... forever!Love always, Bluey

Story
Buddy is around 8 years of age. He was found wandering along around and a year-long effort was made in trying to find his family. Unfortunately, it was to no avail. But he has been fully vet checked and found to be in excellent health. He did have some dental work done and is up to date on his rabies. He has had a 3-year vaccination. He is a terrific boy that loves kids and gets along very well with other dogs. He's a perfect gentleman. He is shy at first, but food is the way to his this boy's heart. He has an excellent appetite and plenty of energy. He loves going for walks and cuddling up next to you on the couch. He is neutered and house trained. Please feel free to touch base for more on Buddy's story. He has lots of love to give and deserves a good forever home where he will be loved and adored.
