Story
Meet Auggie, our beautiful Catahoula/Shepherd friend with City of Raytown Animal Services! Auggie was abandoned by her owners and then ran in fear for days in the middle of a highway; she was even struck by a car at one point. Thankfully, Auggie is safe now. And despite everything she's been through, she's a sweet and loving girl. Auggie is around a year old and would love a home where she can fully relax, be leash walked, and build up her confidence. She has warmed up quickly to the staff caring for her with a slow introduction. A new forever home would allow her to get back to being the goofy young pup we know she is. She appears to like other dogs, too! Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information about this sweet baby. She's in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available to the right home.

Story
When we got Lilly we had a large backyard with a privacy fence. I am disabled and my husband who she was very attached to passed away. This was very hard for her. I had to move and now live in an apartment with no yard she has no place to run. In fact she has not been able to be off leash for two years. This is taking a toll on her. We are experiencing behavioral people’s. She is a sweet dog most of the time and wants lots of attention. She needs a yard to run in. We never had problems with her until we moved to this apartment.

Story
We adopted our sweet girl from a shelter we are her first family. She is energetic and cuddly, loves to be played with and go on walks. Trainable if you take your time and use treats. We are looking for a loving family home. She has been around people in public and they love her and she does not bite or bark at them, she will run right up to them. If anything she is shy and easily scared sometimes. Will go to the door when she has to potty (you would have to re-train her for your door of course). Also, is crate trained even though she would prefer to be out on her bed. Very energetic when in a comfortable setting will do zoomies all day.

Story
Approx. DOB:4/29/23                  Approx Weight: 43.5 Lbs Adoption Fee: $225 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Groucho is so gorgeous when you see him in person with his unique markings and color! Groucho came to Furry Kids Refuge from the Nevada Animal Shelter after it flooded.  He initially was surrendered to the shelter when his owner had to go to a nursing home.  Groucho,  we think he got his name because when he is playing with the other dogs he is very vocal and sounds like he is being a Groucho!  He is very playful and loves playing with the other dogs. But, he also would do great as a only dog because he loves people and the more one on one pampering he can get, the happier he is! We don't know if he is housebroken but he keeps his kennel clean and that's a good sign.  We are working on the leash training but he needs more work not to pull.  We are getting him a no pull harness which will help keep him from pulling and it will go home with the family who adopts him.  This handsome boy really stands out from the other dogs because of his gorgeous markings and colors. He is an unusual breed also.  Groucho loves being petted and snuggled with.  Let's get this boy adopted! Fill out the application and everyone gets a 2 week trial to be sure it's a good match for the family.  This is a great program to help families get a good match.  NO CATS I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Meet Willow! Willow is an affectionate and spirited 8-year-old pup who's the perfect blend of a couch potato and an adventurous companion. When she first arrived at the rescue, she was thought to be 5, but it turns out this lovely girl has a bit more wisdom and experience than initially believed! This charming girl is a true family dog at heart. She absolutely adores kids and thrives in their playful company. Willow is especially gentle with her two human sisters, letting them crawl and play all over her without a care in the world. She might get a little carried away in her enthusiasm, so a home with older kids would be the best fit to ensure everyone's safe and happy during playtime. Willow has some impressive ninja skills! Her foster mama has caught her in the act of stealthily sneaking human food when she thinks no one is watching. This playful mischief adds to her endearing personality! While she's kennel trained, Willow does experience a bit of anxiety when left in there for extended periods. She'd much prefer to lounge on the couch next to you, enjoying your company. Though Willow enjoys her daily walks, she can pull a little on the leash, showcasing her excitement for outdoor adventures. After a good stroll, you'll find her happily splashing around in a baby pool or engaging in epic tug-of-war battles with her favorite toys. Once she's had her fun, she's all about snuggling up in your arms, showering you with love and affection. Willow is a true hugger, always ready to offer comfort and companionship. She is a little shy upon first meeting new people, but her tail quickly wags. Willow does have a couple of allergies (she's been allergy tested), but they don't hinder her vibrant spirit. She eats Iams Chicken bites and gets allergy shots when needed. She gets along well with other dogs, making her a great addition to a multi-pet household. However, she is not a fan of cats, so a cat-free home would be ideal for her. This sweet girl is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention, making her ready to join her forever family. Her adoption fee has been sponsored in the memory of Ted Thrasher. If you're looking for a loving companion who brings both energy and cuddles, apply to adopt Willow today at Lucky 13 Rescue or visit www.lucky13rescue.org. Willow can't wait to find her forever home and share her love with you!
