Story
Laverne really has a lot going for her, not only is she absolutely stunning, she's also smart as a whip! This gorgeous girl would be the perfect companion for just about everyone. Laverne lived in a foster home with other dogs as well as kids. She's also involved in plenty of playgroups here at the shelter, so she's as sociable as she is sweet! This lovely girl has a chronic case of wiggle butt, and has never met a stranger! Once she gets her first burst of energy out, her favorite thing to do is beg for belly rubs. With her can-do attitude and her love for cuddles, Laverne would be the perfect pet for someone who wants a happy go lucky dog! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above,) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. You are welcome to fill out our quick 10 question adoption survey to facilitate a quicker process. This will also start the meeting process for those animals in foster care: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MARQ/Dog

Story
Spot is a very good dog. He likes to cuddle and really likes to chase and play. Spot needs a lot of time outside with a backyard and loves to be right next to you at all times. I travel a lot for work and I think he deserves a better life than being boarded or stuck in an apartment. Had a house with yard when I got him. He is healthy and up to date with all vaccinations and under a heart guard medication with fleas and tick as well.

Story
Hi there, I’m Oakley! I’m a year and a half old. I’m a rare breed in Missouri, I’m a Catahoula Leopard dog. I love to hunt, run, walk and stay active. I have a hard time staying still so if you like to go hiking or you are always on the move, I will be your new best friend! Before I was rescued, I was living outside in a small kennel and never got to run around and sometimes didn’t get fed. Before I was rescued, I was skin and bones, I hated when people touched my food and I had no idea what sit meant. Now I know how to sit, down, place, stay and recall! I also don’t worry about people touching my food now because I know I will always get more or something better! I am just looking for a home where I can run and play and have a job! Right now I am currently unemployed and I sometimes get frustrated and chew up shoes or something. If you have a job for me, I’m in! I’m a sweet guy and I love pets and kisses. I’m excited to meet my new family and I can’t wait for you to meet me! ~ Oakley!

Story
Remus was adopted from an animal shelter and he is now between 10 and 12 months old. He is an energetic, loving, playful, and intelligent dog. He loves other dogs and cats, but he has a high prey drive towards smaller animals. Ideally he will go to a home with space for him to run and another dog to play with or someone who can keep up with his energy needs. This sweet boy deserves the world and our household is unable to give him what he needs to thrive.

Story
I think the wrinkles are due to her extra puppy skin and she'll grow into that :) Trisha needs another dog in your home, she's much more comfortable if another dog is around. Trisha loves people and is nervous about new things/new places. Another dog she knows/trusts helps her over come that fear very quickly. She's only 3 months old right now and she has so much love to give. Please don't assume someone else will adopt this baby, if you are interested and can give her a forever home reach out to us!! We don't want her to grow up in rescue. Trisha's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, vaccines, and microchip. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org
