That's our Grover!Grover is a 9 year old Catahoula/Lab mix and a loved long timer of over 5 years just waiting at the shelter for someone to "take a chance" on him. He was terrified after leaving the only home he had ever known, but has warmed up to his favorite staff members. He has been enjoying all the walks, runs, hikes and even working on his agility skills! Although Grover needs gradual introductions to new people-once he does feel comfortable with his chosen people, he shares his silly and affectionate side. Grover had lived with a small dog in his previous home, and he sometimes forgets his own size and strength by thinking he is a lap dog. He does get along with smaller/medium dogs, but we believe Grover would thrive best in a home without dogs. With Grover's strength and being fearful of loud noises, he is looking for a quiet low traffic adult only home. Grover is still holding onto hope that his forever home is out there. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member. Cubby has been my loyal companion since I brought him home at 8 weeks old. He loves unconditionally, is so excited when his family comes home after a long day at work and school, and craves physical proximity. Now, 7 years later, he’s been through many transitions with me— 4 moves, a marriage, and two kids (3 years and 8 months). Life has certainly changed a bit, and our current home operation is no longer conducive to Cubby’s needs. My husband and I work long hours and our toddler’s unpredictable movements really make Cubby anxious. Cubby will thrive in a home without young children, with owner(s) who can take him on walks and give him the attention he needs. Cubby is goofy and playful but much more calm than his puppy version. He is house and crate trained and not destructive. He does well with other dogs who can tolerate his rough and tumble style of play. He is the best companion. He just needs separation from our kids and more attention than we can give him right now.
