We received a call for help, this person had more then 20 animals on his property, adults and puppies he needed food and to get the girls fixed. A local spay/neuter clinic helped with spay/neuter, rabies and heartworm testing. All the adults were taken back to the owner and he is given dog food to help with feeding them. We were able to take in some of the young pups, had them heartworm tested (which was negative) spay/neutered all vaccines and microchipped. We took the puppies hoping they would be heartworm negative and they are. Since having them here we have had to work with them to learn to trust us, at first they will be a little nervous but give them time and they will fill your heart. They are crate trained, but not house broken. If you have a big heart and would like to give these puppies a chance, please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application, we would love to talk with you in detail about each pup. Once approved, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Meet Grover!This nervous loyal boy was surrendered when his owner passed away. He was terrified to leave the only home he had ever known but has quickly warmed up and is enjoying all the walks, run, hikes and attention from his favorite staff members. He was severely overweight and tired easily, and was found to be hypothyroid so he's on an inexpensive medication for life and feels much better now! Grover lived with 2 women his whole life and wasn't socialized much to other people so he doesn't trust strangers especially men. Once he feels comfortable he quickly becomes a cuddly silly boy with his chosen people. He will be distrustful and protective with visitors so needs a lower traffic home where he can be introduced gradually and safely to new people, or put in another room when people come over. He bonds to a female owner very quickly and believes it is his job to protect them from all threats, real or in his mind only so you will very safe with him around. Unfortunately, his family found themselves in a position where they had to move out of state and could not take him with them. Chance is now 8 years old and has been waiting a year for someone to notice him and give him a soft bed for the rest of his life. He is a Catahoula mix (with lab probably), a 62 lbs boy with a big heart. He's walking nicely on a leash and is just a fantastic dog. He is house-trained, neutered, and vaccinated. My story is one that started with a shelter number and a death sentence that loomed very close in Eastern Tennessee. My former name was AC23390, but by the hand of God, I was taken from that shelter and now I am Neeka.  In August 2022 I was found by animal control and brought to their tiny sad facility. I weighed only 50 pounds (picture is included).  They posted my picture hoping my owners would come forward and take me home but no one showed up and it was for the best.  I was starved already and they obviously didn’t take good care of me. Things were looking grim but on my last day, an older couple came to see me and they took me home.  They treated me like a Princess and I gained weight and felt their love.  I was so grateful and soon my energetic nature started to emerge and my true breed tendencies demanded that they play with me and help me exercise and get my inner energy out.  But they are really too old and too tired to play with me and they think I need a “younger” couple and family to give me the life that I need.  I have learned to live with cats and I have stopped chasing them for sport since they slapped me in the face a few times.  I just got bored and wanted some fun!   What I really need is someone to give me structure and boundaries and to work with me on being content to be crated when people leave and to have someone that is my pack leader and guide.  I need the reassurance that I have a strong owner who knows exactly what I need every day.  I would love to go for long walks, hikes, jogs or anything active and fun.  A fenced yard is needed and I need patience to be imperfect and to help me become more perfect.  I need to work with meeting dogs and not being intimidated by them.   No one has really gotten me out and about in life and I have the intelligence and desire to really learn how to be OK in this crazy world.  I promise to love you, to adore you and to obediently be your best friend and to learn.  I am now 65 pounds and not starving for food, but I am starving for love and guidance.  Can you help me with that?  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested learning more. My name is Bella, and my story starts with my family being evicted from their home. There were several of us and we were left behind. The rescue took us in, and things have been looking up since then. I am around 2 years old. I was used for hunting and have an excellent nose on me. I still have a prey drive, so I can’t live with cats or animals I am used to hunting. I currently live with my foster family which includes several dogs and one child. I have adjusted to life in the house. I will even sleep in a crate or a doggie bed. I have a fenced in yard, which I love playing with my foster friends. My foster mom says I am very playful and silly. I need to see more of the world, since I lived in a very rural area. I do walk on a leash but still pull a little. I still act scared at new things and people. Once I trust you, I am the most loving hound around! Oh, and everyone compliments me on my looks. I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations, micro chipped and heartworm negative. My adoption fee covers a health certificate and transport from Tennessee.

Ralphie is a male dog. He is very sweet, although very hyper. He is a good boy. He weighs about 60 pounds. He is brown and black with beautiful long legs. He is very vocal. He loves walks and play time. He loves his toys as well. He prefers stuffed toys bout the rubber toys work better because he destroys the stuffed ones fairly easy and soon. He desires his very own special family with less animals so he can have more attention on him. He craves people time and lots of affection. He rides well in the vehicle. He's very eager to please. He's very trainable if he has someone to work with him on a regular basis. He needs to be worked with on potty training. He walks on a leash but is still in the early stages of learning not to pull and walk the walker. He gets along with other animals, dogs and cats, but he does need time to warm up to them before they are just turned loose together. I would suggest slow, short introductions to start with and go from there. He has has all his vaccinations and is heart worm negative. He is on monthly heart worm prevention. He has been microchipped so if he were to get away from you, you will have a better of chance finding him. He is neutered. He is roughly 2 to 3 years old. He loves kids, but I would suggest older kids due to his young age and overly hyper tendencies. He loves to jump high and run. It would be great if he could have an area to run and play with his family so he doesn't have to worry about getting away or having any accidents. A fence of some sort would be ideal. He is food aggressive. I believe he had been deprived of food in the past and that is why he is this way. I do believe he can be worked with on this and in time it will cease. In my opinion, he just needs to know he doesn't have to fight for his food and his food is available when he is hungry. Other than that, I have never heard him growl or show unhappiness.
