Story
Meet Annie. Annie is a smaller Anatolian mix with the kind of personality people spend years hoping to find. She’s the dream combination of sweet, calm, and genuinely friendly with everyone she meets. Nothing seems to rattle this girl. In a busy public setting full of dogs, people, noise, and activity, Annie took it all in stride—quietly observing the world around her like it was no big deal. Her steady, easygoing nature makes her the kind of dog who fits comfortably into almost any environment. Annie’s story started when she wandered onto the property of some kindhearted fosters who made sure she was safe. When she arrived she was a bit on the thin side, but we’re working on getting some groceries in her and helping her fill out. She’s already enjoying regular meals and a little extra TLC while she gets back to a healthy weight. She rides beautifully in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and carries herself with that calm, confident energy that makes life with a dog feel effortless. If you’re looking for a gentle, well-mannered companion who will happily go along for the ride—whether that’s a road trip, a walk around the neighborhood, or just a quiet evening at home—Annie may be your girl. 🐾 If you’re ready for a meet and greet, kick off the process with an application at www.flyingbrescue.org/adopt. Our application is thorough but there are no right or wrong answers - we just want to make sure you and the pet are the perfect match. Once we receive your application, we will schedule a phone interview. Our adoptions include a 2-week trial period with fully refundable adoption fees during that period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer transportation services and have happy families as references. We value transparency, so don’t be afraid to ask us anything.

Story
Once upon a time, in the heart of Texas, there was a sweet puppy with a coat the color of autumn leaves and eyes that sparkled like the first evening star. Her name was Starla. Starla is a beautiful mix, likely with some Catahoula Leopard Dog in her lineage, a breed known for its loyalty and unique markings. Starla didn`t mind the shelter; the blankets were warm, and the volunteers were kind. But she dreamed of a home where she could be the center of someone`s universe. She imagines a soft bed, a squeaky toy all her own, and a yard where she could chase butterflies.

Story
Greer is the Mom of our G-litter of puppies. When they were found, her babies were just a few days old, but she was also nursing two older puppies (not hers) who had likely been dumped along with her. We are learning that this act of kindness is the best description of her personality: loving, gentle, kind. What a wonderful girl! She has been spayed now and is ready to join a family who will show her all the love she so deserves! Can it be yours?
