Story

We have unexpectedly found ourselves fostering this very sweet boy and are in urgent need of a loving home for him. We are located in Dallas, where the animal shelters are currently overwhelmed (DAS is operating at over 160% capacity). Because of the high euthanasia risk in local shelters, we are committed to keeping him safe and out of any kill shelter. We are loving pet parents ourselves and have been doing everything we can to care for him, but due to our current work schedules and lifestyle, and two large dogs in our home, we are not able to provide the level of fostering and attention he truly deserves long-term. He is fully vaccinated and has been treated/preventatively cared for medically. We can provide all vet records. We are actively networking through every avenue we can because he truly is a wonderful dog. We genuinely believe that with the right home, love, and attention, he will make someone incredibly happy.

Jaida will be 12 years old at the beginning of July, she still has some good years left in her. She enjoys walks/ hikes and occasionally playing fetch with a ball. Her favorite thing is sunbathing in the yard if someone is with her, or a quiet, comfortable space of her own inside to lounge. She is a true companion dog. Being outside alone can cause anxiety if she hears a scary noise like thunder, etc. She can be described as highly intelligent, charming, diva, princess. She is a great dog for someone that has NO KIDS and preferably no other pets. She does well with big dogs that are calm but is used to being an only child. She has urinary incontinence that cannot be fully treated with medication nor surgery. So, she wears diapers inside. Ragnar is a 7 month-old boy who we believe is part Catahoula Leopard Dog and German Shepherd —His mother was rescued out of South Dallas and we soon found out she was pregnant. Ragnar was bottle fed and all of his other siblings have found a home. Ragnar loves other dogs but bonds deeply with his person. He’d do beautifully in a rural setting with another dog to follow and feel secure, a home with a backyard with a doggie door — or someone who can give him frequent outdoor time —. He’s a good listener, plays fetch, and knows basic commands, crate trained and potty trained. He’s very smart sweet and his time is running out with his current foster. He’s never known the streets and has a wonderful supportive family environment and is energetic but has no fears or aggression. He’s very balanced .

Ellie is a wonderful, beautiful and very smart dog. She gets along with other dogs very well, but can be a handful around smaller dogs. She does not know here own size, but dogs her size are just fine. She does not have a bad bone in her body. She loves chewing on her kong, earning her treats. She is leash trained and knows several hand signals. We are still working with her on checking in regularly. She has not been around kids, but cannot imagine that will be an issue with her temperament. Ellie is deaf and has received professional training from On the Ball K9 Training in Denton, TX. She will stay on your side but can get distracted. She will sit and stay when told and is pretty content on her "place" as long as she has some entertainment. She is crate trained and sleeps in a crate. Her favorite activity is going on long walks, but even more, she will play fetch with you until she absolutely wears herself out. And then, once you think she has had enough, she is ready for some more. She loves fetching tennis balls and ropes throws...and will bring them back to you almost all of the time, unless she gets distracted. She will then sit when you tell her and release the toy for another round. Ellie was born mid-2015 and weighs approx 90 pounds. ##628903##

What to say about Charlie. He’s the goodest boy! He really is wonderful,. He loves running around outside, but loves being in your business more. He was found on a ranch road in Hondo, Tx. The second the truck door opened, he leapt in, flopped down, went boneless, and refused to be put out. I have been caring form him for 4 months and I’ve learned a thing or two. He needs either, a big back yard to run his little rambunctious heart out, or an active person to take him running, hiking, fishing, general mayhem making, or better yet, all of the above. Charlie really likes being the center of attention. He is willing to share, but he wants you to know he prefers to be the one in your lap. He is too smart for his own good. He has, on a number of occasions, outwitted the humans with his criminal’s mind. Charlie is crate trained. He likes to eat in there and spend quiet time in there. He sleeps in his crate, and absolutely must be crated when you leave the house. If you don’t, it will not be the same home as when you left. Definitely don’t turn your back on him while cooking in the kitchen, he has been known to steal food from the counter. He’s not subtle about it so he’s easy to stop. Charlie does well with other dogs, and doesn’t seem bothered by cats. He was in a house with 3 dogs, and 1 cat. He has been neutered, and received all of his vaccinations from the vet. He is the perfect specimen. According to the vet, he is around 2 years old and is a Catahoula Leopard with maybe a little pit. He is about 30 lbs, but we are working on him gaining some weight.
