Hello there! My name is MayaI’m an 8-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of love to give. I’m what you might call a “people dog.” I love my humans dearly and want to be your one and only furry friend. Other dogs are great, but I prefer to have all the attention (and belly rubs!) to myself. Trust me — I have plenty of love to go around!I may not be a bouncy puppy anymore, but I’ve still got plenty of energy for fun and cuddles. Plus, I’m past the puppy stage — I’ve got great manners and know how to be the best companion.Come meet me from 12 PM to 6 PM, open every day.No application or appointment required — walk-ins welcome.SPCA of Texas, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, TX 75212

Story
Ellie is a wonderful, beautiful and very smart dog. She gets along with other dogs very well, but can be a handful around smaller dogs. She does not know here own size, but dogs her size are just fine. She does not have a bad bone in her body. She loves chewing on her kong, earning her treats. She is leash trained and knows several hand signals. We are still working with her on checking in regularly. She has not been around kids, but cannot imagine that will be an issue with her temperament. Ellie is deaf and has received professional training from On the Ball K9 Training in Denton, TX. She will stay on your side but can get distracted. She will sit and stay when told and is pretty content on her "place" as long as she has some entertainment. She is crate trained and sleeps in a crate. Her favorite activity is going on long walks, but even more, she will play fetch with you until she absolutely wears herself out. And then, once you think she has had enough, she is ready for some more. She loves fetching tennis balls and ropes throws...and will bring them back to you almost all of the time, unless she gets distracted. She will then sit when you tell her and release the toy for another round. Ellie was born mid-2015 and weighs approx 90 pounds. ##628903##

Story
Ulti is being fostered in PA. Ulti is both BLIND and DEAF. Ulti/Glitch is doing well. Glitch is a confident social butterfly and has no fears. She loves to go anywhere she can interact with people and other animals. She walks wonderfully on a leash and enjoys car rides. Glitch is currently learning how to crate, something she wasn't able to handle as a puppy and she is doing great with it. She uses a doggy door to go in and out for potty and yard time. Glitch absolutely loves children and is a very personable girl who also enjoys snuggling next to her people. She is not a high energy dog but would do well with an active family/person or a laid back quiet home as well. She is working on her touch commands and knows the sit, wait and come. Glitch is 37lbs and won't get any bigger. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Volt is being fostered in NC. Volt has some vision. update Volt is doing well! He lives for cuddles at night before going to bed in his crate. During the day he has one speed and that is lightning fast. His favorite treat is carrots and he will do anything for them but lay down, lol. He has a pretty good recall and knows sit. He is fully potty trained and goes to the back door when he needs to go out. He plays so gently with his foster mom's mini aussies and rough and tumble with Elektra (corso) and Trigger (lab). Volt had some grand mal seizures that were caused by Simparica Trio. These lasted about 3 weeks with lingering focal seizures. He is still on keppra and he's doing great! He has not had any seizures in the last 3 months. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately

Story
Wrangler is being fostered in PA. Wrangler has some limited vision. Haroo, my foster Mommy said I had to give an update on me. I am now 11 months old! She has been helping me deal with something called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. Man, thems big words. I will just call it what foster Mommy says, EPI. It means that that pancre-something thing inside me doesn’t give me enzymes so I can digest proteins. So foster Mommy puts enzymes in my food to help me with that. Also, Mr Vet Dr said because of this EPI thing, my B12 level in my blood is low, so foster Mommy gives me a shot every other week of B12. I am a good boy for those and don’t even feel them, as long as I hold still. Other than that, I am still learning various commands. I tell foster Mommy when I need to go out. I sleep all night with foster Mommy. I love playing with other dogs and cuddling with humans. I can sometimes get scared when I don’t know someone, but will warm up to them especially if they have treats. I am okay with older children. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Roscoe, a delightful boy that came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/8 as a stray. Roscoe weighs 80 pounds and is about 4 years old. He is a very handsome boy, that appears from my dog scanner to be a mix of a few different breeds such as Catahoula, Great Dane, and some Central Asian Shepherd. No matter, he is 100% good boy!! Once out of his kennel he loves to investigate all the smells in the shelter yard. Then he will take a break and romp all over the yard, with mini zoomies. It was fun to watch him do this with a big smile on his face. He has a happy go lucky personality. He enjoys being petted, and takes treats gently. Walking past all the dogs barking he shows no interest in them. If you do have another pup in the family please ask the shelter for a dog test. You can see he is confident and outgoing, and hopes his new family will come get him soon. He would love to have a secured yard to play in, but must be an indoor pup so he can spend time with his human companions. You can’t go wrong with Roscoe! Come spend time with him!

These pups are in Dallas, Texas too!

Story
Meet Bleu â&#194&#128&#194&#147 Your Future Best Friend! Say hello to Bleu, the sweetest and silliest boy youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll ever meet! Bleu is a 1.5-year-old, 70 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with a heart as big as his paws. With his playful energy and loving nature, he's the perfect companion for someone whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ready for both adventure and snuggles. Bleu was rehomed after his previous family realized they didnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t have the time to give him the attention he deserves. Since then, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been thriving in foster careâ&#194&#128&#194&#148loving life, learning quickly, and waiting patiently for his forever home. This affectionate guy is happiest when heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s with his humansâ&#194&#128&#194&#148whether itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s playing fetch, tug-of-war, rolling in the grass, or simply relaxing with some belly rubs. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s incredibly social and gets along well with other dogs. He currently lives with two foster dog siblings (a dachshund and a chow chow!) and loves romping around with them in the yard. Bleu is crate-trained, house-trained, and making great progress on leash walking. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a smart cookie who already knows commands like â&#194&#128&#194&#156sit,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 â&#194&#128&#194&#156shake,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 and â&#194&#128&#194&#156lay downâ&#194&#128&#194&#157â&#194&#128&#194&#148especially when treats are involved! Bleuâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ideal home would be with someone who has the time and patience to keep up with a young pupâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s energy and curiosity. A fenced yard or regular walks would make him so happy. In return, you'll get a loyal, goofy, and loving companion. Are you ready to give Bleu the loving forever home heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been dreaming of? Story
Meet Shia â&#194&#128&#194&#147 Your Loyal, Lovable, Long-Eared Best Friend! Shia is a 5 1/2 year old Black and Tan Coonhound weighing around 70 pounds and ready to steal your heart (and maybe a snack or two)! This handsome hound is full of personalityâ&#194&#128&#194&#148intelligent, affectionate, and eager to please. Shia absolutely loves other dogs and even gets along with cats! He thrives in environments with structure and consistency and has done well in both home settings and doggy daycare. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s housebroken, crate trained, and has been professionally trained to help him shine his brightest. He would do best in an adult-only home or one without small children. While incredibly friendly, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s still learning personal space with kiddos and needs a calm, patient environment where his boundariesâ&#194&#128&#194&#148especially around food and sleepâ&#194&#128&#194&#148are respected. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s made great progress with training and just needs a family who understands and continues the consistency he's benefited from. Shia is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on prevention. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a goofy, loving boy who wants nothing more than to be your loyal sidekick. Looking for a loyal friend who loves long walks, belly rubs, and a cozy crate nap? Shia just might be your perfect match.October 14, 2025, 11:10 pm

Duke is a sweet protector! Really calm dog indoors as long as he doesn’t hear knocks on the door then he will bark till you answer it per usual. Will sleep on you all day if you let him. He is potty trained. Just keep your trash can out of his reach, he is a little dumpster diver. I can no longer care for him, he still has a lot of life left and would hate for him to be put down.
