Story
Hello, I'm Pumpernickel! I'll be honest I was a little scared at first, but I'm getting the hang of everything now. It took me a little bit to get used to leash walking, but it is a way for me to get outside so I picked it up pretty quick. The people around here say I have been doing so good that I'm ready to go to a forever home. So, the search begins... FOSTER TESTIMOINIAL: "House trained, doesn't beg for food, very gentle when taking food by hand, loves affection and to cuddle."MY HOME: I would love a place with some outdoor space. But I'm really not picky as long as we get to go outside and explore. KIDS: I can be on the shy side, how about you bring them in to meet me. DOGS: Why don't we go ahead and meet them first too. APPOINTMENT TYPE: None needed! Come meet me any day 12pm-6pm!

Story
COURTESY POST: Hello everyone! My name is Annie (short for Anakin)! I’m a super happy, upbeat, loving, 60-pound, approximately 2 year old female Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix. I’m an amazing dog that LOVES kids, other dogs and spending time with people. I’m very strong and may look intimidating, but I just want a belly rub, time playing with my toys and taking naps in your lap. My favorite games are Tug-of-War and Hide & Go Seek. I love playing Hide & Go Seek because when I find you, I’m truly thrilled and I can cover you with slobbery kisses. Afterwards, we can play again! Also, one of my favorite pastimes is to jump on the trampoline with my person. I love to have fun with everyone! Some important details about my health: I have all my shots, I’m spayed and I’m in good health. Furthermore, I am potty-trained, crate-trained and very food-motivated! Unfortunately, my life was not filled with too much joy in my early months. I had puppies, but tragically, they were taken away from me a few days after they were born. Also, I was kicked out of my home and had to find refuge in the cold, dark streets right after I had just given birth. When I was found, I was very thin, scared and sad. Nevertheless, I’m doing much better now and I can’t wait to find a new home! I hope you can consider adopting me because all I want to do is love, be loved and play together! If you adopt me, we will be best friends forever! We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet the debonair Billy Bones. He is a 4 year old, 70 lb, mixed breed, with some of the most hilarious sleeping positions youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll ever see. His breed mix includes Catahoula leopard dog, lab, bloodhound, German shepherd, golden retriever, and American bulldog.

Billy Bones is a silly guy who loves to play hard and nap even harder. Billy has never met another dog he didn't immediately love (and he's met LOTS). Sometimes, he can be extremely exuberant when meeting new dog friends, so he would be best in a home with other very playful dogs, or dogs that don't mind being asked to play. He isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a fan of young kids, but heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s great with teens. Billy loves to cuddle up with his humans and lick them all over; he especially loves licking bald heads. An ideal home for Billy would be one with a fenced-in yard and other dogs to play with.

Billy is crate, house, and leash trained, and he knows sit, down, touch, and shake. He is one smart pup! He is also super flexible, and can often be found sitting or laying like some kind of canine contortionist.

Check him out on Embark: http://embk.me/billy436?

This party animal pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Billy Bones today!

Story
Kiwi Needs A Furever home Kiwi said goodbye to his brother Ducky yesterday as he left to join his forever family. All of his other littermates have been adopted already. Kiwi is the last of his litter and this is the first time he's been alone. He would so love to find his forever family very soon. Kiwi loves everyone. He's a sweet, happy, playful, smart pup. He's approx 6 mos and 51 lbs. He'll likely weigh over 60 lbs when full grown. His mama dog looks like Old Yeller. Kiwi and most of his littermates look to have catahoula in their mix. His coat is silver/blue-grey, and his eye color matches. He has some spots and adorable white markings. His "hound like" ears are adorable. To inquire about this sweet adorable pup, please reach out! 615-540-8448 🙏 copy/paste/SHARE this post so Kiwi can find his forever family! Thank you, Furever Home Pet Rescue bemyforeverhome.org

Story
I met Willow at the animal shelter back in November of 2023 and fell in love with her personality and demeanor. She seemed well behaved and mainly to herself. Throughout my time of having her, she is a very playful, intelligent and a quiet dog. She does not bark. She is truly a great companion. The issue that I have been having is that I live in an apartment and her breed needs to stay active. A week after bringing her home, I later found that she was heartworm positive (which the shelter has taken full responsibility for treatments) and with that being said, it requires her activity to be low until all treatments are finished. I believe with her not being able to be as active, she takes her boredom out on other things. She is potty trained for the most part, but a consistent schedule is crucial for her. Her perfect home would be with someone who can actually invest time into training her and spending time with her.

Story
Manchas is a four-year-old 60 pound Catahoula Leopard dog that was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/18. His original owners had rehomed him. He was then found as a stray. The shelter called the original microchip owners. They are working out of town and can no longer care for this big boy! He was surrendered through no fault of his own. He's a good boy...obviously capable of deep love. He is also well trained. He knows to sit command and offers his paw. I can't say he did it for treats though because he didn't like my treats! He chased balls but did not retrieve them. He had a strong pull to get out in the yard. As soon as he got out of the yard, he did his business. He's very active, exuberant, playful, well mannered, and friendly. He comes when you call him, and he tries to get up on your lap--all 60 pounds of him. He will need a big yard to romp in, but will also enjoy going for a run with his new owners. Then the rest the time he'd like to spend chilling with his new family.

Cleopatra needs a new home through no fault of her own. She is such a sweet girl, 3 yr old Catahoula mix, spayed and utd on shots, house trained and crate trained. She may take a little bit to get used to her new family, but once she does she is so loving and loyal. She’s a great guard dog, and she’s AMAZING with babies and children! She is very high energy, so she needs an active family or a lot of space to run. Cleo would do best in a house with no small animals, and she needs to be the only dog. She will come with vet records and all her stuff. Transport can be provided for up to several hours from DFW. Guest post--Rehoming fee determined by owner.

Mamma Mia! What beautiful blue eyes you have! I am a young lady who has retired from being a mama. My last litter of puppies were the "Starbucks Litter" and they all got good safe homes. Now I need to find a home! The nice man who has been helping me and feeding me is being evicted from his home and cannot take me with him. I am very sad about this but I am ready to go to a new home. I am very affectionate and obedient and I love to learn new things. I am heartworm positive though but I think I can overcome that with help too. Will you be my new parent?

Re-introducing Morty! Morty was pulled from the EU list in FTW south campus shelter the morning he was scheduled to be euthanized due to space. He is currently our foster who has been waiting the longest for his furever home. He is a big puppy at 75 pounds and is about 2 years old. Morty is confirmed to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback and German Shepherd mix. Morty wants to just melt into your arms as he just loves to be hugged. He Loves car rides and exploring. Morty loves to play with other medium to large dogs. Would do great with a big sister or brother. He is a velcro dog that sticks close to his people. He has learned a lot from his foster family. He is kennel trained and food trained, he only eats from his bowl. He knows a few commands like sit, wait, drop it and he walks well on a leash. Morty would do better in a home without cats. He is a good boy. Beautiful red vibrant coat. Shepherd mix with bright eyes. Watching him chase butterflies, dragonflies, and any other bug is a real treat. Morty LOVES to play in water! He Blows bubbles in his water bowl! He is Very excited about play time. Would do better with an active owner since he is high energy. Loves to play ball and Frisbee toss! Still working on the retrieval part, though. Morty is a couch crasher, too. Loves to sit and watch anime, YouTube dog streaming, or Disney channels. He is motivated with treats and food. Morty will give you his undivided attention if he sees you have snacks! One hug from Morty, and you're in love with this snuggle buddy. To meet Morty, please fill out an application! Story
Meet Callie! Callie is a four year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. She is super loyal and loving to her people. She loves to hang out inside with her people, but enjoys rolling around in the yard and sunning herself on a pretty day. When her mommy and daddy had a baby, she was a little stressed out by all the chaos and they knew she would be happier in a home where she did not have babies crying or toddlers invading her space, so she is looking for her forever home. She is currently staying with her grandparents while waiting for a forever family. She is up to date with vaccines, spayed, and has an appointment to be microchipped soon. She weighs 100 lbs and is working on taking off some of that weight with daily exercise and weight management food. She would love to accompany you on your own wellness journey if you too are looking for daily exercise!

Callie LOVES her adult people. She will sit at your feet and hang out with you for hours. When she gets spurts of energy, she invites you to play and will go get toys and sticks you throw for her. She is not a big fan of giving them back to you, but loves the chase. She thrives when she gets her daily walk and would be your best friend if you took her on a neighborhood walk each day. She is super friendly to people and pets out in the neighborhood, but needs to make your acquaintance before you come into her space. Her first family had babies and dogs, and she prefers life as the diva, free of children or other pets in the house.

Callie is potty trained, and sleeps in her crate. She is the best at walking on a leash and aced her obedience training. She is super smart and learns quickly. She is the type of pup who will take some time to warm up to you, but will be very loyal to her new family. She will thrive in an adult only household where she can be queen!

Callie is so smart and loyal. Apply to adopt Callie today!

Story
Rosie Mae is such a loving and deserving dog! She did a great job at raising her 11 babies and is ready for a forever home of her own now. She lived her entire life outside having litter after litter until she was eventually surrendered. She adores affection and is eager to please. She loves to dance around when she wants attention, it’s the absolute cutest thing ever! She is fully house broken and crate trained.  Rosie has a low energy level and would be happy to “retire” somewhere quiet. She loves to lean into you and lay her head on your lap. She is gentle and does not pull on a leash. She likes to jump into the air and dance, but does not jump on you. She may be an older mama dog but she truly has so much life to live and love to give. Give this sweet girl and chance and she will be loyal to you until the end!  https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##1915208##
