Lilly is a loyal guard dog that our family of 7 has loved and raised over the past 2.5 years. She has exhibited some resource guarding around children (growling and once nipped my 12yo son). She has a pretty strong prey drive and LOVES to chase deer, squirrels and other critters... has caught and killed a couple armadillos. She would be great for a family with older kids or adults as she seems to have more respect for them. She has lived on our two acres and guards it with enthusiasm. She recently nipped a visiting/unfamiliar child in our house and we have decided we don't want to continue risking that. She has done well on our two acres but would probably do even better with more space. She has all shots and has been well-cared for. She is leash-trained and heels. She is spayed and weighs about 47 pounds. Happy to share anything more about her that would help you make an informed decision to take her on. We are in Northwest Houston, TX. After being picked up as a stray, Missy was adopted October, 2021 to a loving couple. We thought this would be her final and forever home. But her family contacted us and, through no fault of her own, are having to return Missy to us. Missy is a beautiful, lively, small Catahoula mix. She is about 5 years old now and only 35 lbs. Missy is spayed and had a dental cleaning in 2021. She is kennel-trained and house broken. When she is happy she makes a woo-woo sound and bounces through the yard like a lamb. Missy gets along with most dogs, better with male dogs. But with the right leadership she does fine with non-dominant females. Like all working dogs she can be snippy but responds well to redirection. Overall she is a happy, sassy, very affectionate little girl. She enjoys running around her yard and keeping the squirrels away. I would not put her in a house with cats as she has a prey drive. Her adopters have worked with her on some lingering issues from her first owner. She loves people so we believe the right family is out there for this girl. **This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Hi there, I'm Lacy Lou! Up until recently I was in a warm and loving home with my adoptive mom. Unfortunately she came on hard times and brought me back to the rescue to find a new forever home. My friends at the rescue say that even though I miss my mom, I still have the biggest smile! I am a sweet, lovable gal just looking for my next family to impress. After all, I do know all of the basics. Sit, stay, lay down... you name it, I'll know it! I am learning that other dogs aren't all that scary, but I would still prefer to be an only dog in the home.
