I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more here Dashielle is a Miniature Poodle gentleman who came in as a stray with his sister, Sparkle. At around 5 years old and weighing about 11 pounds, he may be shy initially, but after he warms up, he starts to show his curiosity and energy.   Dashielle can be barky around new people and unfamiliar sounds. He also likes to cuddle, especially if Sparkle is enjoying a cuddle—he seems to treat cuddling as a competitive sport.   Dashielle loves a good small squeaky plushie or ball. He can amuse himself for quite some time with squeaking toys and tossing his ball around on his own. His curiosity can sometimes get him into trouble. He likes to drink out of human water cups and jump on side furniture (both of these dogs can jump fairly high).   It is  unclear whether Dashielle is house trained, though he has rarely had accidents in the house while allowed in common spaces. He has been observed having a small accident once or twice when the door to the backyard was closed. Considering this boy was found intact, he has exhibited much less marking or inappropriate potty activity than might be expected. Story
Winston is a sweet, sensitive boy who’s just starting to show his true personality. He took a few days to warm up in his foster home and can be a little shy at first, but even early on he sought out closeness—sleeping right next to his person and happily accepting gentle pets. Now that he’s settling in, he’s affectionate, playful, and loves being near his people. He enjoys toys and will engage in short bursts of play, but he’s just as happy curling up beside you for a nap. Winston is a quick learner—he’s already figured out stairs by following another dog and has learned to sit for treats. He’s making good progress with house training and will benefit from continued consistency and routine. Winston does well with other dogs and really gains confidence from having a calm canine companion around. He coexists nicely with dogs on walks, though he can feel overwhelmed by very high-energy approaches and prefers polite interactions. On leash, he’s off to a great start—walking calmly with no pulling or reactivity. He’s food motivated at home and eager to learn. Winston would do best in a patient, steady home that can give him time to continue building confidence. A home with another calm, friendly dog would be a big plus.
