Story
Marcus is an 11 year old, 6 lb Poodle with the spirit of a much younger dog — full of spunk, charm, and happy go lucky energy!   Quick Facts: Name: Marcus Breed: Poodle mix Age: 11 years old Weight: 6 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (great with dogs of all ages and sizes!) Good with Cats: Not tested, but open to a meet and greet Good with Kids: Not tested, but open to a meet and greet Energy Level: Medium Fence Required: No Dog's Location: Maiden, NC   About Marcus’s Breed: Our best guess is that Marcus is a Poodle mixed breed. Poodles are bright, affectionate, and famously people oriented dogs known for their intelligence, elegance, and cheerful personalities. Whether toy, miniature, or standard, they tend to be quick learners with a playful streak and a strong desire to be part of whatever their humans are doing. Many Poodle mixes inherit that same combination of smarts, sweetness, and fun energy, making them delightful companions who thrive on connection and routine.   Their ideal home is one that offers companionship, mental engagement, and gentle structure. Poodles love being near their people, enjoy learning new things, and appreciate environments where they feel included and understood. They do well with families who can provide affection, consistent routines, and opportunities for light exercise and enrichment. Because they’re sensitive and deeply bonded to their humans, Poodles flourish in homes where someone is around often and where their social, emotional, and grooming needs are met with patience and care.   What to Love about Marcus: Marcus absolutely loves to snuggle, and makes an excellent lap dog… as long as he doesn’t have to share that lap! He can be vocal about wanting attention too, so he hopes his future family loves cuddling and snuggling! His bubbly personality and adorable antics (including rolling on his back and digging around in dog beds) make him a constant source of smiles!   Marcus loves everyone he meets and while he hasn’t actually met kids yet, he would be open to meeting them! He’s been well mannered and comfortable with all the dogs he’s met — big, small, male, female — and he’s open to a cat meet and greet too. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and trustworthy loose in the home thanks to his great house manners. His only gripe is that he hates the car, and should be crated for car rides to keep everyone safe. Marcus has a more dominant but respectful play style, medium energy, and is great on leash. This happy boy is ready to find a forever family who will adore his personality, enjoy his snuggles, and help him live out his golden years to the fullest. Marcus may be a senior, but he’s bursting with life, love, and joy — and he can’t wait to share all of it with his new family!   Marcus’s Magnificent Highlights: • 11 year old, 6 lb Poodle with tons of youthful spunk • Happy, vocal attention getter who loves to “talk” when he wants affection • Excellent lap dog who prefers not to share his favorite spot • Bubbly, joyful personality that brings smiles wherever he goes • Loves all people and is open to meeting respectful kids • Great with dogs of all sizes and genders; open to a cat meet and greet • Potty trained and crate trained with trustworthy house manners • Medium energy walker who enjoys getting out and exploring • Respectful but dominant play style that works well with friendly dogs • Ready to enjoy his golden years with a loving forever family   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Marlin is a 12-13 year old, 15 lb mini poodle mix with the heart of a much younger dog and the charm of a seasoned companion! Quick Facts: Name: Marlin Breed: Miniature Poodle mix Age: 12-13 years old Weight: 15 lbs. House-Trained: No (he wears belly bands/diapers) Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (calm dogs are best) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes (calm, respectful kids) Energy Level: Low Fence Required: No Dog's Location: Fayetteville, NC Special Considerations: Marlin is blind and mostly deaf although he seems to be able to see shadows and hear high pitched noises. He will need a calm, predictable environment in which to safely navigate and live his best life! About Marlin’s Breed: Our best guess is that Marlin is a miniature Poodle mixed breed. Mini Poodle mixes are small, intelligent, affectionate dogs that blend the Poodle’s sharp mind and low shedding coat with the personality traits of their other parent breed. They’re known for being friendly, adaptable companions who fit well into a variety of homes — from apartments to family households — thanks to their manageable size and social nature. Many Mini Poodle mixes are playful, people oriented, and quick to learn, making them great pets for families, seniors, and anyone who enjoys an interactive, cuddly dog. Their ideal home is one that offers consistent routines, gentle training, and daily companionship. Because they’re social and bond closely with their people, Mini Poodle mixes thrive in environments where they’re included in everyday life, given mental stimulation, and offered plenty of affection. What to Love about Marlin: Though he’s blind and hard of hearing (with a bit of selective hearing, as his foster jokes), Marlin navigates life with curiosity and a gentle spirit. He may see shadows and hear certain high pitched sounds, and he spends his days happily wandering around his space, sniffing his surroundings, and enjoying all the scratches and pets he can get. He occasionally bumps into things — especially if something has moved — but he takes it all in stride with his easygoing nature! Marlin thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he can feel safe and comfortable as he enjoys his golden years. When he’s not exploring or seeking affection, he’s snoozing peacefully. He isn’t potty trained and wears male wraps, but he is crate trained and settles nicely when left in his crate while you’re out. Marlin is wonderfully friendly with everyone he meets and does well with gentle, respectful kids. He’s fine with other dogs — greeting them with sniffs and tail wags — and would likely be just as easygoing with cats. He’s great on a leash, enjoys quiet companionship, and would make a lovely single pet or fit in beautifully with calm, laid back doggie siblings. Marlin is a tender, lovable little soul who deserves a second chance and still has so much affection to share. He’s ready to bring warmth, sweetness, and gentle company to a family who will cherish him! Marlin’s Majestic Highlights: • 12-13 year old, 15 lb mini poodle mix who still has a youthful spark • Blind and hard of hearing but navigates life with curiosity and confidence • Friendly, gentle personality — loves scratches, pets, and quiet companionship • Calm explorer who enjoys walking around and sniffing his surroundings • Thrives in predictable routines and a peaceful home environment • Wears male wraps and is not potty trained • Crate trained and settles well when left alone • Great with gentle, respectful kids and friendly with everyone he meets • Dog friendly and likely cat friendly — greets other dogs with sniffs and tail wags • Easygoing leash walker who enjoys calm outdoor strolls Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Lola is an amazing, loving dog with such a sweet personality. She absolutely loves snuggling, getting belly rubs, and keeping an eye out for squirrels to chase! She does well with other dogs and is happiest around older or bigger kids. Smaller children tend to make her anxious and scared, so a home without young children would be the best fit for her. She has never shown aggression—she simply becomes nervous and uncomfortable around little ones. We’re not sure how she would do with cats, as she hasn’t had enough experience with them to know. Lola is fully housebroken and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an affectionate, loyal dog who loves being part of the family. She has received regular vet care, is fixed, mircochipped and up to date on rabies.
