Story
Meet Waylen!Waylen is thought to be about a 2 year old male miniature poodle mix. He is a shy guy that needs time to come out of his shell. Once he is used to you he does very well and is wonderful with kids. He is crate trained and totally potty trained. He is dog selective so needs slow introductions. Waylen would be great as an apartment dog and also as the only dog in the home. He is ready to find a home to call his own.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet sweet Doug!Doug is a 40 pound, one year old white standard poodle mix who is super sweet and cuddly. He always has a smile on his face. He’s potty trained, crate trained and recently neutered.Doug gets along with other dogs but also likes his personal space. It takes him a few days to warm up to new friends, because he doesn’t want to feel overwhelmed. His way of dealing with this is a low growl, although it isn’t an aggressive growl. It’s more of a “I need a little space and time to get used to you growl”. But once he gets used to you he’s cool as long as you don’t infringe on his space. It’s more about animals than it is about people.Doug likes to play and romp and he’s a curious puppy. He loves his sleep and he doesn’t mind his kennel at all. He will even willingly go lay down in his kennel in the evening just to chill. He understands the command “go to your kennel” especially combined with its night night time. He currently sleeps in his kennel with no issue. Sleeping is normally 10:30 pm to 7:30 am.Doug eats well. I currently feed him in his kennel because I have four dogs, but I’m sure he can get used to not eating in his kennel but he will currently go to his kennel when he knows it’s time to eat. His food was making him a little constipated so he’s been getting some pumpkin added to his kibble.Doug likes chew bones, which are good for his dental health. He likes cuddling with you and rubs behind his ears.He walks well on a leash and does well riding in the car.He is still learning other commands and manners. He currently doesn’t let you know when he needs to go outside for potty so I’ve just been letting him out pretty often. He hasn’t had any accidents. Sometimes he will start barking for no reason so that may be his cue I just haven’t figured it out yet. When he first came to my house he was nervous and unsure of his surroundings and was marking so I put belly bands on him but once he got used to being here he stopped marking.Doug would be a great addition to your family. Not sure how he is with children but he is pretty chill so I wouldn’t think he would be rough with them or snappy. Wouldn’t you like to add Doug to your family? To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Meet Chipmunk!Hi, I’m Chipmunk. I may be a little shy at first, but give me some time, and you’ll see my sweet, gentle nature shine through. I’m a quiet and reserved kind of guy who appreciates the simple things in life—a cozy spot to rest, a peaceful companion, and a kind human who understands that I warm up at my own pace. Once I feel safe, I’ll be your loyal, loving friend.I enjoy the company of other calm dogs and find comfort in their presence. I’ll tolerate puppies, but if I had a choice, I’d much rather have older, mellow friends to share my space with. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will appreciate your patience and kindness, I’d love to meet you. A calm, loving home sounds like the perfect place for me to truly shine. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt.
