Story
Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet Thor – the mighty god of thunder… or, in this case, the god of zoomies. 🐾 Thor is a 3-year-old, who was rescued from Louisiana, and he’s ready to trade in his southern roots for a new leash on life. With his striking looks, big personality, and boundless energy, Thor is the total package. Whether he’s chasing a ball, romping around with his doggy friends, or galloping across the yard like a happy hurricane, Thor lives for fun and freedom. This playful boy is super social and thrives around other dogs, making him an ideal buddy for a pup who needs a playmate. He’s got a heart as big as his paws and would love an active home where he can stretch those long legs, get his daily dose of adventure, and then settle down for some well-earned couch time. If you’ve been looking for a goofy, loving, and loyal companion who brings the thunder (and the tail wags), Thor might just be your guy. Ready to bring the thunder home? Head to happylifeanimalrescue.org to register for adoption. Thor’s waiting for his hero — could it be you? Let’s make his happily ever after happen!

Story
Meet Logan (aka Oliver) a very sweet 1.5 year old neutered male lab/pointer mix, weighing about 72 lbs! This handsome boy has the cutest tan eyebrows that accent his black and white coloring.  A total cutie! Logan was adopted as a young puppy and, through no fault of his own, is now being returned to PRL over a year later.  His current family describes him as a "smart, sweet, and loving dog and who loves affection and will lay at your feet so he can touch and be connected" He is an energetic boy who loves playing fetch and running around the yard - he would chase balls all day long if he could! He has good house manners and he knows basic commands ("sit", "lay down", "stay").  As sweet as Logan is, he is a timid boy who suffers from fear/anxiety when he is out of his comfort zone. His current family reports that he is afraid to go on walks and panics when he hears loud noises (lilke the vacuum). He is also not a fan of car rides. When he is home and in his fenced yard, he is very happy and relaxed and you would not know that he is such a scaredy cat. Logan does well with other dogs, and his family feels that he would benefit greatly from having another dog in the home (ideally a confident, well adjusted dog who can show him the ropes and help him build his confidence). Because he is so nervous on walks, Logan would do best with a fenced in yard where he can safely run and play. Logan is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2155977##

Story
Meet Wednesday, a ~3 month old female lab/terrier mix puppy! We expect her to grow to a medium/large dog.  Wednesday, her brother Pugsley, and mama Morticia were picked up as strays by animal control in east TN (there was also a third puppy, who was adopted from animal control). This little family spent several days at an overcrowded kill shelter and their stray hold was up, which meant they were at risk of euthanasia Fortunately, we were able to find a foster to take them in, and they were pulled from the shelter in the nick of time.  Mama Morticia was adopted by her TN foster family, and Pugsley was adopted very quickly after arriving in New England. Wednesday is the last member of this sweet family remaining, and she is SO deserving of a furever home of her own!  Wednesday is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. She is currently being fostered in CT with young children who she absolutely adores! She is a super snuggle bug and she LOVES to get cozy and cuddle with her people on the couch or bed!   Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. She is medically up to date (age appropriate) and working on housebreaking/crate training. Apply to meet this special pup today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
