Story
A FUN & HAPPY-NATURED GIRL:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 54 lbs.  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m in a great foster home, learning, and having fun! I’m looking for a family with a stay/work from home family member as I do need to be taken out to the potty more than some other dogs due to a congenital kidney defect which is easily managed!  I’m a typical happy young dog and don’t know that there’s anything wrong with me at all, so I want to be treated like a normal fun dog!  I’ll likely have a little shorter lifespan than some other dogs, but I’m living life to the fullest!  Maybe we can do that together?  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I just love playing with and palling around with the dogs in my foster home, but I have been known to hoard all the toys and time with my people so, if you have a laid-back dog already that would enjoy a friend and not mind my coveting all the toys and people, let’s meet! / I’m a bit too curious about the cat in my foster home so my foster thinks I’d do best in a home without a cat.  / I haven’t been around young kids, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over with my enthusiasm. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My foster reports that I’m a great pup who will make a wonderful companion. I’m lovable, huggable, and sweet!  When I first went to my foster home, I would chew blankets and an occasional shoe, sock or oven mitt, but I mostly know what is mine now, so please make sure I have lots of hard toys and Nylabones. I am a little mouthy during play or when people try to pet my belly.  Please tell me to ‘leave it’ and avoid the belly . . . I like all the other pets.  Pretty much a Velcro dog, I like to be the pup to get the most attention and although not aggressive toward the other dogs, I will wiggle my way in between them and my people.  I’m an “in your face” type of loving girl, even staring during our conversations.  I love to explore my foster’s fenced back yard, happy to play with the other dogs or on my own – my foster says I’m a “treasure hunter” so maybe we can even make a game out of that.  I’m a pretty quiet girl, but have a deep alert bark if I hear unknown noises or people.  Playful, very active, silly and fun – I am sure to bring lots of love to my new family! / My energy level is approximately 7 - 8, so let’s make time for lots of play sessions or running or hikes. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands and will give a nice ‘shake’ and know the ‘go to your crate’ command.  I walk great on my leash and although alert during my walks, I don’t bark at or pull toward dogs. / I sleep in my crate at night and go in willingly. I do like a treat reward when I go in it, please. / I am taken out every 2 ½ hours or so during the day and my water is managed/limited to what works best for my kidneys and potty manners.  My foster will be happy to talk to you about this.  I have been going to the door to signal that I need to go potty and I’m doing great.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with people getting attention, playing, being gently hugged and rubbed. Balls and toys are great fun for fetching – though it is more like a game of ‘keep away’ or catch with my paws right now – lol.  I get really excited when I hear the ice machine . . . frozen treats!  I got to splash around in a lake recently and enjoyed that!  I also ride well in the car – let’s go on lots of adventures! / I don’t like the loud vacuum (what is THAT thing all about?), unexpected noises that make me a bit jumpy at times and the silly mop I try to bite.  I am good for my bath, but can’t wait for it to be over.  I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed. I eat Science Diet k/d dog food to help with my kidneys and have just had bloodwork done which shows that it’s really working!  The vet was so happy with the great results and so am I!   If you’re a stay/work from home family and want a great dog to be active with, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    September 9, 2024, 12:42 pm

Story
A FUN & ACTIVE FELLOW:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 36 lbs.  Hi, my name is Trevor!  I was rescued from animal control by the great folks at Mostly Mutts.  I am enjoying my time with the volunteers, and I can’t wait to meet my new family now that I am available for adoption.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I liked the female dogs I met. I also enjoyed my time with the male dogs who were around my size or smaller only, so if you have a nice female doggie, or male doggie my size or smaller at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, although I was a little jumpy when meeting them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! Kids should not walk me though as I’m reactive to other male dogs when on walks. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super sweet and curious fellow who the volunteers call ‘a great dog’ that is well-mannered and will sit, wait and listen carefully.  Such a good boy!  I have a distinctly beautiful, shiny and soft coat that is sure to impress.  I’m also playful, fun, and very active – ready for life’s adventures with my new family! / My energy level is 6-8, so get ready to be active with your new best friend! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Now I’ll be focusing on how to not be reactive to other male dogs when on my walks, as I redirected and grabbed my walker’s leg once on a walk at MM. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the prison/foster training program schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love to play and have been having a blast fetching tennis balls and running around in the MM play yard, so a nice, fenced yard in my new home would be a great place for us to have fun play sessions.  Toys are fun too, so I’d like several of those please.  I also like treats, but I take them enthusiastically (they’re just so yummy), so you can help me learn to take them gently. I may enjoy some water play as I seemed to enjoy water when I was out with a volunteer for a day trip, and I sometimes play in my water bowl. / I can’t think of any dislikes, other than walking near other male dogs, though I would not like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m looking for a fun family to be active with me and show me the good life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  September 9, 2024, 12:42 pm

Story
A SWEET ‘PEOPLE DOG’:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 32 lbs. Hi, my name’s Clarke! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  I sure am enjoying the great care and attention I’ve been receiving since I arrived.  Now, they say I am ready to find a home of my very own – so excited!      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! I am talkative at times when I see other dogs. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet guy with a very friendly nature.  I was calm and sweet for my shelter bath and was told that I’m the ‘best boy’ which I liked hearing.  Playful and fun, I’m ready to be a lucky family’s great addition. I was also a good boy when it was my turn for a photo shoot! / My energy level is 5-7.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I have already mastered several commands: ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’.  We’re working on my leash manners now as I do jump and pull some. Check back soon to see what else I have learned. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Since I am a friendly ‘people dog’, I love being with them and collecting ALL the cuddles.  When the volunteers come to spend time with me, I am happiest when I am just sitting with them and chilling while we people and dog watch.  Play time is also great, and I like toys, so I look forward to lots of fun play sessions with YOU! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have some moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I am looking for a loving home where I will be a cherished member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  September 9, 2024, 12:42 pm
