He’s a mix breed and about 2 years old. We’ve had him for a little over a year.  He has lived with 5 other dogs and loves them dearly.  Ciao needs a home with less stimulation. He  was just at a board and train program and did wonderfully. He’s working on leash training, the command come and calming down when guests come over. He gets SO excited when anyone comes over that he gets a bit mouthy at the person entering the home. It’s hard to train him not to do this when all 5 of the other dogs rush the door at the same time too! It’s totally trainable just hard given our set up. He loves the dog park and other dogs. He gets so excited to meet them and sometimes plays a little rough but again it’s trainable and we’re working on it. I spoke to our trainer and he said that whoever adopts Ciao will be able to come to his facility or he can come to you and teach you everything Ciao knows as far as training goes. He has a cushy life at our home. He gets an hour walk everyday, sleeps with us, roams free in the house all day, plays with his brothers and sisters and I work from home 80% of the time so someone is usually home and he’s not left alone for too long. He needs a walk at least everyday but would love acreage for him to run. He would also like another friend to play with. He’s used to playing with a pack of 5.  He just needs less stimulation and someone to work with him on solidifying his training techniques. It’s not fair of us to not give him the tools to succeed and grow into a gentleman. If you think you’re the right fit for Ciao let us know and we can set up a meet and greet. I know the perfect home is out there for him! Oh and I forgot to mention that he’s the biggest snuggle bug and gives the biggest kisses in the world. Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   This big, goofy boy is all about loving you! He was rescued from a pound in KY. Artie is between 1-2yrs old and weighs around 90lbs, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to snuggle in your lap and giving you kisses. He will snuggle with you on the couch or even take long, lazy naps with you in bed. He is super friendly with everyone he meets, he even visits at a local nursing home. He was previously fostered in a home with children and did well.  Artie loves running and exploring and due to his size, he would benefit from a fenced in yard to get plenty of exercise. He does well in his kennel while his foster parents are at work, with no accidents. Artie loves playing with his other foster siblings in the fenced in yard and does well at the dog park, but in the home he can get jealous over toys and treats and even of your attention. He would preferably do best as the only dog in the home, but could potentially do ok with a smaller, more submissive dog. Interested in adopting? I am a 1 year old, 34 lb mixed breed gal who came to MN from Kentucky and am currenty in a temporary foster home - looking for a foster home or my forever home. I am glossy black, with just a sprinkle of white, powdered sugar on my nose, tail and back toe tips. I have a white chest and a little white racing stripe under my chin; it helps me run fast! My favorite body part is my corkscrew tail! I am a gentle playing gal and enjoy relaxing in my crate when I have some down time. I’m a curious gal and like to follow you around and watch what you’re doing. I do have a voice and enjoy conversing, so I would like a family who wants a talker! I sleep all night in my crate and also like to take naps in there. My hobbies include living room rug wrestling, gnawing on a good bone, and doing yoga stretches in the yard.   I really like walks - it helps with my puppy energy and I have get to see many squirrels on our walks. I am developing very good walking manners! I would do well in a house with other dog(s), of similar size, and I have met a few human kids and have had no issues with them.
