Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $400 plus taxCypress aka Ciao is the coolest dog! He’s a mix breed and about 2 years old. We’ve had him for a little over a year.  He has lived with 5 other dogs and loves them dearly.  Ciao needs a home with less stimulation. He  was just at a board and train program and did wonderfully. He’s working on leash training, the command come and calming down when guests come over. He gets SO excited when anyone comes over that he gets a bit mouthy at the person entering the home. It’s hard to train him not to do this when all 5 of the other dogs rush the door at the same time too! It’s totally trainable just hard given our set up. He loves the dog park and other dogs. He gets so excited to meet them and sometimes plays a little rough but again it’s trainable and we’re working on it. I spoke to our trainer and he said that whoever adopts Ciao will be able to come to his facility or he can come to you and teach you everything Ciao knows as far as training goes. He has a cushy life at our home. He gets an hour walk everyday, sleeps with us, roams free in the house all day, plays with his brothers and sisters and I work from home 80% of the time so someone is usually home and he’s not left alone for too long. He needs a walk at least everyday but would love acreage for him to run. He would also like another friend to play with. He’s used to playing with a pack of 5.  He just needs less stimulation and someone to work with him on solidifying his training techniques. It’s not fair of us to not give him the tools to succeed and grow into a gentleman. If you think you’re the right fit for Ciao let us know and we can set up a meet and greet. I know the perfect home is out there for him! Oh and I forgot to mention that he’s the biggest snuggle bug and gives the biggest kisses in the world. He’s the best!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
Hi There! I’m Eddie, a big hunk of a guy that people and dogs alike instantly fall in love with. Let me tell you a bit about myself- I love being outside in the yard- running, chasing a ball, exploring, and wrestling with my 4-legged foster brother. I've even mastered the doggie door! I love going on walks and am doing well not pulling on my leash. I happily go into my kennel when I hear the word "kennel" and am offered the tiniest bit of cheese (string is my favorite!) at bedtime and when my foster family is gone from the house. My foster mom works a hybrid job and when she is home, I'm just the best assistant for her and lay quietly near her without invading her space or distracting her. I am a super chewer and hard sticks and balls keep me busy and happy for hours. I'm told I'm pretty smart and know how to sit, down, and belly up. I'm pretty smart and can learn lots more too. I just want to be the best boy for my family. Speaking of families, I just love all kids, and all dogs and will be such a great addition to your family. I'm just a happy guy with a permanent smile and tongue out, who loves a scratch behind the ear, looking for his forever people. Is that you?--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
Hi! My name is Pammy!I arrived in Minnesota in February. I was a little nervous starting out, but I am adjusting extremely well. I also found out that while I like running and playing in the snow, I do enjoy a good Minnesota summer as well! I am fully potty trained and sleep in my kennel all night! I do a great job being in my kennel during the day when my foster mom goes to work, but boy am I happy to see her when she gets home! My foster mom says she is pretty impressed with me! In my foster house there are currently three other doggos to keep me company and help me learn the ropes of being a good girl. I am a quick learner and love running around in the backyard, playing and chasing with my friends. Also, I do enjoy being around people! I can be shy at first, but do warm up quickly. I love snuggles and pets alike! I will hop up next to you on the couch and gently paw asking for attention. I love giving the puppy dog eyes, it works fantastically for getting all of the pets!I would love for your home to be my furever home and I promise to show you how much love I have to give! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
Hi y’all – I’m Ginger. I recently relocated to Minnesota from Alabama in the hope of a better life and so far I have not been let down! Alabama was tough for me – I was abandoned in a remote forest as a puppy. They say I was skin and bones when they found me. Luckily, I found my way into a place called “rescue” where I stayed in Alabama getting healthy again until I was able to hitch a ride “Up North.” The move was scary, but I’m sooooo glad to be here. It took me a day to get comfortable in my foster home, and I show my fosters how thankful I am to be here by showering them with tiny kisses every chance I get. I live with a man, a woman, and a grouchy senior dog. She lets me know when my teenage puppy tendencies get to be a little too much for her, and I respect that (but I would LOVE a social circle of dog friends to play with). I hang out in my crate overnight and when my fosters are away – you know, I don’t mind it. I get treats for going in there and don’t make a peep until they let me out. It’s my "me" time to relax. Walks were a little scary at first because I don’t have much experience with City life, but I’m curious and that’s helping me get more comfortable on them. The squirrels also help – those things are fascinating!!! Nothing would make me happier than helping chase them out of the yard for you. I know that I need to do my potty jobs outside, have had no accidents (yay me!), and even paw at the door sometimes to say I need to go out. My fosters are surprised at how long I can hold it. Once I’m out, it can take me a little time to find the perfect spot so a fenced yard is best for me right now while I continue to figure things out. My fosters say I’m a nice medium size and a good balance of playful and chill – I throw toys to myself so I can catch and prance around with them and love playing ball in the yard, but also settle in for a couch snooze or some window gazing during their workday. If you’re looking for a new friend, I’d love to show you my ball, give you tiny kisses, and help you with your squirrels 😃 --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
