Story
Hello! My name is Hillary aka CoCo! I am a super sweet Chesapeake Bay Retriever. I am about 3 years old and weigh approximately 62 pounds. I have a lot of energy! I love going for walks but sometimes I get distracted by squirrels, birds and humans. Sometimes I pull and need to be corrected. I LOVE going to the park. I run and run and run. I have made many friends-mainly my foster sister, Bosco. We play and play and play until my foster mom has had enough. I have a boyfriend in the neighborhood and his name is Moses. He too is a golden/Chesapeake combo. We see each other and give kisses. I also have 2 other boyfriends that Moses does not know about-Yogie, who is a Rhodesian ridgeback, and Leo, who is a German shepherd. We are always having play dates!! Oh… I forgot Knuckles-the neighbors bulldog. Knuckles was kind of in my face. But I dog-checked him and we are good. So bossy that one! My foster mom has said I have made a TON of advances. When I was placed with her, I would not eat dog food or eat snacks. I now LOVE dog food; and eat tons of snacks. I LOVE bananas, sweet potato, green beans-and of course dried beef liver and dried chicken. I was super skinny-but I have gained weight!! I was also not house trained. I now go outside and do my business. I feel bad because I was so confused before. But my foster mom has been great and I love her with all my heart!!! At some point, I think I was water deprived, so I am a water gorger. Mostly I just eat ice now. I love it and its my go-to. But sometimes I will gorge at the park, and then forget and make a mess in my house. I have to remember that eating ice means going potty outside. And drinking water also means going outside. One time, my foster mom took me to the drive through at Bojangles. I hated it!! I barked at the lady taking my order and then I would not eat a Bo-round. My foster mom was shoving that thing in my face the whole 2 blocks home. First, she shouldn’t be going to fast food, and second, not everyone likes fast food. She tried that same crap when we went through the drive through to get “the Lord’s chicken.” I’m just not a fan of waffle fries. I am not kennel trained. But there is really no need for me to be. I have only chewed on approved dog toys and when I nap-I am either on the couch or on the dog bed. My foster mom got a camera to keep a watch on us when she is away. She was bummed when she found out that me and Bosco mainly just sleep on the couch. I haven’t done anything bad, not compared to Bosco. She’s the one that needs training. One thing I taught Bosco was to look out the window. I love the window and love watching what is happening outside. And Bosco taught me to fetch!!! I’m kind of still new at it, but love a good ball launch!! When we went to the park the other day, I played with the neighbor kids. I just love them!! I am always down for snuggles. And I snuggle hard. I love having my ears petted and generally having quiet time. I just want to be loved!!!

Story
Volunteer notes, 4/24/24:There are so many nice dogs at the shelter but Hulk just might be my favorite. I can`t possibly visit without taking him out for some playtime. He is truly an all-around excellent dog. He is playful yet calm, energetic yet attentive, and immediately people-friendly without requiring any special handling. We walked him on leash today and after some initial hesitation at the front door, he did beautifully--no pulling at all. He has such a sweet face and waits so patiently to be taken out; I can`t understand how someone hasn`t scooped him up yet.Volunteer notes, 4/18/24:We loved spending time with Hulk in the play yard today! He was calm and well-behaved on the leash. He was interested in the dogs around him but able to be redirected. He knew `sit` and took treats gently but wasn`t overly treat motivated. He was active and playful but also laid down for lots of pets. Such a nice boy and very smart!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sylvie and her seven babies came to us on 7/11/2022 when the puppies were one day old. There were more than 50 dogs on the property where she came from. She is very sweet but still timid.  Once you gain Sylvie's trust, you have the best friend in the world.  Sylvie is extremely treat and food motivated and will follow you everywhere for her favorite treat.  She loves romping in the yard with her foster siblings, lying on the bed or sofa with her human and especially resting on the back of the sofa like a cat.  She is ready for her own home.  She needs a back yard as she will not walk on a leash. She is doting and loving and protective.  She lets you know when a stranger arrives, whether it is a bug or a person and she enjoys being the protector.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 10:26 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Lilly! She came from a hoarding situation in South Carolina with her 10(!) babies.  She has overcome so much in her months with the rescue and transformed from a scared, submissive dog to a confident cuddle bug!  She loves toys and running around in the yard.  She is great in the car and just sits and chills.   She loves playing with other dogs and is still cautious at new people -- she will just bark.  Originally Lilly was scared of the leash, but now she loves walks! Lilly's other love is water!  Lilly is a perfect example of what rescue can do to give a new life to dogs. Will you give Lilly a chance at her Pawfect Match?   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 10:26 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Weather and all her Puppies came to Pawfect Match when the Babies were less than a week old. Weather was and is still scared to death. You see, Weather came from a property in SC where over the course of 15 months Pawfect Matxh rescued over 200 dogs between the two adjacent property. Weather is the second to last to be rescued but not for lack of trying. She had no name--she was called Juvi girl for juvenile. She has no attention. She is the daughter of Momma Bear and sister of Sylvie, niece of Sadie, Rocket, and Venture. She needs love and patience and someone to show her how to trust. She is finally letting her foster mom pet her though she still flinches. She was recently spayed and believe it or not heartworm and tick born disease negative. She is a manificently sweet girl waiting for love and patience. You must have a fenced yard and be willing to spend months gaining her trust. Are you her person?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 10:26 am
