Story
Hi friends! My name’s Kal, and I’m a 6-year-old, 67-lb Lab mix with a big ol’ heart and a serious talent for lounging in style! Everyone says I’m the easiest dog ever — and honestly, I think they’re right! I was a total staff favorite at my first shelter, and now the team at the Shelter Pet Adoption Center has fallen head over heels for me too. (What can I say? I’m kinda irresistible!) I’m living the good life in a foster home right now, and I’m doing amazing! I’m crate-trained, house-trained, and I walk like a perfect gentleman on leash. I was found hanging out in a field with another dog, but I already had a microchip, was neutered, heartworm negative, and I even know how to sit and shake! So yeah… it’s pretty clear I used to have someone who loved me — and now I’m ready to find that love again, forever this time. If you think we could be a match made in heaven, email ncteam@austinpetsalive.org or call (704) 266-3647 to meet me! I’ll be waiting (probably on the couch).

Story
Rowdy is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!! Meet Rowdy, our resident silver fox. Who could resist those big brown eyes and that distinguished frosted face? This charmer steals the heart of everyone he meets with his enthusiastic tail wags and gentle personality. His foster mom reports that he is the easiest dog ever; he is already potty trained, crate trained and he is happy with a few easy strolls a day. He would do anything to get belly rubs and has on occasion fallen off the couch in excitement from receiving one (embarrassing, we know.) He's also a certified couch potato and loves to lounge in a comfy spot. Is it dark outside? Well, it's his bedtime folks. If that means his bedtime is 5 o'clock in winter, so be it! Rowdy loves people and has done wonderfully with kids of all ages. He's recently started training for the first time and quickly has mastered sit and down. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks? Rowdy would do best as the only animal in the home. No dogs, no cats-just you. After all he's been through, he deserves a peaceful life with someone who'll see what a steady, loyal fella he really is. He's waited long enough. He is heartworm positive, but heartworms are treatable, not contagious, and thanks to Friends of Wake County Animal Center, he comes with a $1,000 sponsorship to help with treatment costs. If you have room in your life for this gentle and affectionate senior, please contact his foster family at the email address aliqzwishes@gmail.com with the subject line: "Rowdy 257754" Primary Color: Black Weight: 66 Age: 7yrs 9mths 3wks

Story
This pet was brought in as a stray and will NOT be available for adoption through our program. All stray animals brought in are posted on the gallery to hopefully be reunited with their families. Each pet is evaluated upon arrival, and throughout their stay, at the Animal Center and we do our best to place the animal in the setting most appropriate for them. Sometimes, they may be better served through one of our Transfer Partners due to the intervention needed, ongoing care required or a quieter setting for that individual. We want our animals to put their best paw forward. If you are a 501c3 rescue and are interested in partnering with WCAC to help this pet, and others, you can find more information on how to help at: https://www.wakegov.com/departments-government/animal-services/community-partners/transfer-program If this is your pet, please contact us immediately at AnimalCenter@wake.gov Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 49.5 Age: 2yrs 0mths 0wks
