Looks like: Chihuahua mix Male, 5 years old (estimated), 8 pounds Hi, meet Paul! This sweet young man is every Chihuahua lover's dream. Lots of tail wags, tippy tapping toes, and major snuggles. Paul loves his people and loves being held. He does well around other pups but does set boundaries when he feels bothered. He would love to spend time lounging around the house with you or tagging along on the next adventure. He really is up for anything! Paul joined POMDR after his senior guardian was sadly no longer able to care for him.

Pauly D was dealt an unfortunate hand when it comes to his health, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't live out the remainder of his life being spoiled and loved! This brave boy has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and enlarged heart, along with a variety of other ailments. If giving a pup with medical needs a second chance is your calling, then look no further, Pauly D is your boy. Pauly D joined POMDR from Ventura County Animal Services to help alleviate the overcrowding at the shelter.

Looks like: Chihuahua mix Male, 12 years old (estimated), 7 pounds Lovable little Watson is a tiny senior Chihuahua at his best. He may be getting along in years, but he still has some toddle left in those legs of his. He has a bit of osteoarthritis in his hips, but he doesn't let that slow him down at all. Aside from taking in the sights and smells around him, Watson loves a good sunbathing session. He'd love to lounge around the yard this summer with you! Watson joined us from the Sacramento Bradshaw shelter where he landed after being found as a stray. They wanted to help him find a forever family ready to meet the needs of a senior dog, so he joined the POMDR family!

Let us introduce you to Newt-ie-Tootie (or as his foster calls him, Pete Davidson!) When out meeting and greeting his fans on walks, Newt is constantly swooned over and called "the sweetest dog". However, you'll want to be sure to keep a good hold of the leash in case a squirrel or bird or leaf blows by as Newt's enthusiasm for a good chase and good fun knows no bounds. If you've watched episodes of "Saturday Night Live" showcasing our dear friend, Pete Davidson, rap, well, Newt can bust out some pretty rockin' tunes, too. However, Newt does his soulful renditions of love songs when you are away. Car ride? Visit to the feed store to load up on more snacks? You bet - Newt is your guy! This guy figured out that it's the simple pleasures that bring joy: several walkies a day, lots of "together time", and relaxing moments lounging in the yard in a sunny spot. While Newt did come to us with some hair loss, medicated baths, good food, allergy meds, and fish oil supplements are doing wonders for his coat and skin. We can't wait to see his continue to blossom in his new furever home. Apply to adopt Newt today! Newt joined us from the SPCA of Monterey County, where they found he needed a more senior specific audience to find his forever family.

Looks like: Chihuahua mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 10 pounds This morsel of canine goodness is a gourmet kind of Nougat, with extra sugar and honey mixed in. Snuggling on the couch seriously turns him into a sweet and slightly nutty blob. In other words, he is the most affectionate little guy and loves to be as close to his person as possible all day long. On top of that, he has these soulful eyes that look straight into your soul and pull on your heartstrings. Nougat very much enjoys meeting new people, will solicit pets, and invite himself into anyone's lap. Mr. Nougat likes going for daily walks and is well-behaved on leash. He is friendly when meeting other dogs and he fits in just about anywhere, from cozy tiny house to spacious mansion. Overall, he is very adaptable and would likely be a happy camper joining a family with any level of activity. We don't know much about Nougat's past, as he was found as a stray and brought into Santa Clara County Animal Services. They decided a more senior specific rescue would help him find the best home to meet his needs.
