Story
Looks like: Chihuahua mix Male, 13 years old (estimated), 16 pounds Meet sweet Pauly D, a senior pup with a heart full of gold. Pauly D was dealt an unfortunate hand when it comes to his health, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't live out the remainder of his life being spoiled and loved! This brave boy has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and enlarged heart, along with a variety of other ailments. If giving a pup with medical needs a second chance is your calling, then look no further, Pauly D is your boy. Pauly D joined POMDR from Ventura County Animal Services to help alleviate the overcrowding at the shelter.

Story
Looks like: Chihuahua, Beagle mix Male, 9 years old (estimated), 20 pounds Moose is a sweet Chihuahua mix with a calm spirit and an easygoing charm that makes him the perfect companion for just about anyone. He's that rare gem of a dog who settles in quickly, keeps things peaceful, and is happy simply being near his people. We have found Moose to be naturally mellow and gentle, low-maintenance and easy to please. He enjoys quiet company and cozy naps. Moose isn't demanding -- he just wants a soft spot to rest, a friendly human to love, and a place where he can feel safe and settled. He's an easy fit whether you're a first-time dog adopter or a seasoned pet parent looking for a calm companion. If you're searching for a low-key, lovable little buddy who's as simple as he is sweet, Moose might be your perfect match. Come meet this mellow boy and let him melt your heart! This darling boy joins us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. Due to the shelter's full kennels and his senior status, they felt he would do best in a senior-focused rescue to find his forever family.

Story
Looks like: Chihuahua mix Male, 11 years old (estimated), 15 pounds Looking for that special someone who makes you feel like you're the most wonderful being on the planet, warms your heart, and keeps you laughing? Let us introduce you to Newt-ie-Tootie (or as his foster calls him, Pete Davidson!) When out meeting and greeting his fans on walks, Newt is constantly swooned over and called "the sweetest dog". However, you'll want to be sure to keep a good hold of the leash in case a squirrel or bird or leaf blows by as Newt's enthusiasm for a good chase and good fun knows no bounds. If you've watched episodes of "Saturday Night Live" showcasing our dear friend, Pete Davidson, rap, well, Newt can bust out some pretty rockin' tunes, too. However, Newt does his soulful renditions of love songs when you are away. Car ride? Visit to the feed store to load up on more snacks? You bet - Newt is your guy! This guy figured out that it's the simple pleasures that bring joy: several walkies a day, lots of "together time", and relaxing moments lounging in the yard in a sunny spot. While Newt did come to us with some hair loss, medicated baths, good food, allergy meds, and fish oil supplements are doing wonders for his coat and skin. We can't wait to see his continue to blossom in his new furever home. Apply to adopt Newt today! Newt joined us from the SPCA of Monterey County, where they found he needed a more senior specific audience to find his forever family.

Looks like: Chihuahua, Min Pin mix Male, 13 years old (estimated), 10 pounds Meet Osmosis Jones, a bundle of joy who proves that age is just a number! This happy-go-lucky gentleman has a zest for life that's absolutely contagious. With his ever-wagging tail and bright, cheerful expression, Osmosis Jones radiates gratitude for every new day and every friendly face he meets. He may be a senior pup, but his spirit is as lively as ever. Whether he's soaking up the sunshine, sharing gentle tail wags with his friends, or simply enjoying a cozy nap nearby, Osmosis Jones reminds everyone around him how beautiful it is just to be happy to be here. This sweet old soul is ready to bring warmth, joy, and endless smiles to the lucky person who welcomes him home.
