Meet PD, an 11 year old Chihuahua. This little guy is fully potty trained! He has never had a single accident in his foster home. His favorite things are his people, his furry foster brother, belly scratches, being the boss of his household, and his twice a day treats (the only way he takes his medication). PD has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and a heart murmur, requiring daily medication. Also has kidney concerns which are maintained on a prescription kidney-support diet. He would benefit from losing some weight (he's quite chunky) with light exercise. It will be beneficial for his overall health. PD does not like dogs bigger than he is. He also does not like when his foster brother is getting attention and he isn't, or when someone gets too close while he is on your lap (he can be a bit possessive with his people). This special guy needs a calm and loving home that does not have a lot of new people coming around. He can be somewhat spicy towards new people as he is very protective of his family. His furever family must also be willing to continue caring for his medical needs. He's been the bestest boy in his foster home. Through a generous Senior Pet Adoption Grant from the Petfinder Foundation, we are able to cover his adoption fee and the first $700 of his prescription food and medication for a loving adopter! PD is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm test was negative, receives monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, dewormed, and is microchipped with registration paid. Hey everybody . I need a new home for my dog this is hard for me but I can’t have my baby anymore because of funds and my landlord and it’s gotten to a point where I don’t have time for my sweet boy anymore. He is 10 years old and a clingy boy so he loves cuddles/somebody that will sleep with him every night , he plays with his toys, he loves treats, and he loves to go outside. All things I have a hard time providing that I use to be able to when we were younger. He is my best friend in the whole world so if you choose to adopt him please cater to him cause he deserves it . He has certain medication he takes (very cheap) every day we can go over that it’s for his arthritis. I can’t give him the time he needs so maybe if your retired and can spend a lot of time with him he’d love that or if your a true dog lover and need a friend he will be there. He has never tried to hump or had any serious medical issues so getting him neutered is not needed!

Maeve is an 11 year old Chihuahua who was dumped on the streets of Peoria, Illinois in critical condition. She was covered in fleas, painfully underweight, her nails overgrown and her trust in people just about gone. All signs point to her being a former backyard breeder dog, discarded when she was no longer useful. But here is the thing about Maeve.....She did not give up. Fast forward to today and Maeve is still 11....just wiser, softer and quietly hopeful. She is sweet, loving and trying so hard to believe that the rest of her life can be better than everything before. She would thrive as the only dog in the home. She is not a fan of other dogs but she does well with cats. Because of her past small children are not in her picture. She is house trained, but cannot manage stairs. This little girl does not need much - just calm, understanding home and a human who sees her worth and gets her!
