Sara is a chihuahua/shitzu mix. The shitzu part is on top of her head. Sara has some crazy hair on her head which makes her even cuter. Sara figured out and uses the doggy door. She does stand back and lets her sister, Molly, take charge. Sara is affectionate and loves to give kisses. She is about 9 pounds and since she is 7 months old we don’t think she will get too much bigger. She loves to play with her sister(Molly), and they get so excited when their humans come home. I have not seen her around kids or cats so I’m not sure of her reaction. I think Sara could adjust to all family types and would just need a couple days to settle in. Say hello to Tinsley, She is a 11 year old Chihuahua mix That came into rescue last November It has been in Foster since. she was very skinny and had a low iron and an UTI that we took care of. Our veterinarians feel this is because of malnutrition as she has not had any problems now that she is an appropriate weight. She eats really well with her hard food with a little water on it. She has really come out of her shell and loves to play with toys, lay out in the yard even on these hot days and roll around on her back. She absolutely loves to go for walks and her new favorite is golf cart rides. She travels great in the car, loves to go. Tensley is not fond of other dogs, so she is looking to be the only dog, cats are fine. This is not to be taken lightly as she will go after other dogs if given the opportunity and with few teeth and her small statue that is not safe for her at all. She absolutely loves to meet new people. She loves her kennel and will often be found In her kennel and will sleep in there for hours during the day she is not kenneled for any reason as she is house trained and is not destructive. She will use potty pads if needed when left for longer periods of time however in her Foster home she does have use of a doggy door to a fenced in yard. She is a happy fun girl that is uncomplicated to be around. Get your application in as this girl is ready for her forever home.

Monty is currently enjoying his time in a foster home! Monty's foster mom says:Monty is a grumpy old man, but with a lot of love still to give. He gives sweet little kisses but grumbles when I kiss him. He loves burrowing under blankets. He has been a picky eater and since he was so skinny, I'm spoiling him with hamburger and chicken. Part of that may have been his dental issues with abscessed teeth which are now resolved. He is a screamer when you try to do things he doesn't like - putting on his collar or his sweater. Makes me think he has been abused before and screams when he is scared. As he gets more secure in feeling safe, I hope that resolves. He comes when called inside and outside. He is mostly potty trained but has marked since he wasn't neutered. He will have accidents if not taken out every couple hours. Puppy pads help during the day.He deserves someone to show him love for the rest of his days. You wont regret the time you have with him.

Our staff note that Russell can be a bit of an escape artist so any family should make sure that they have a securely fenced yard, watch the door to ensure he doesn't door dart, and make sure he is securely fastened on a leash. Russell should be the only dog only home, he prefers to sleep in bed with family, and has some separation anxiety, so will not do well being left alone for long periods"
