Story
Jester is a great guard dog who would do best in a home without little kids. He is treat motivated and does great on a leash. Jester is very timid and shy but is super loyal. He has lived with a cat before. His current owner’s health is poor so he cannot be well cared for at the moment. Please consider giving Jester the chance to show you his love and loyalty.

Story
Virgil is an almost 6 year old Chihuahua mix (maybe with a little pug; he's 12lbs) looking for his forever home. He was surrendered by an older couple who couldn't care for him any longer. He does well in his foster home as long as he's let out regularly, and is kennel trained. He loves other dogs around his size - he can be intimidated by larger ones but he likes to run around the yard and chase them if they're willing to play. He does okay with kiddos as long as they aren't trying to grab him. He likes car rides and sitting in his foster mom's lap the most. His adoption fee is $250 - if interested in meeting Virgil, apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Miss Peony is a young adult chihuahua mix looking for her forever home. She is timid but sweet with a touch of chihuahua spice. It takes a bit for her to warm up but after that she does well. She is playful and is learning about dog toys and bones. Peony kennels well and is doing well with potty training. She is an Oklahoma girl so this Iowa cold is an adjustment. She will use a potty pad if she is struggling to go outside in the cold. She does okay with other dogs as long as they are not getting in her face too much. If you are interested in meeting Peony, please fill out an application on our website www.foreverhomedogs.org Her adoption fee is $250All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Story
Meet Hera! This 2-year-old, 13.5-pound Chihuahua may be small in size, but she has a huge heart and an even bigger love for snuggling. Hera is a gentle soul who starts out shy, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the most loyal, cuddly companion you could ever hope for. Hera adores children and loves nothing more than curling up next to them for naps. She’s also potty trained and crate trained, and while she was a little unsure before, she’s really come into her own in a loving home. She gets along well with other mild-mannered dogs, though she may be a little shy when first meeting them. While Hera doesn’t trust men right away, she’s not aggressive—just cautious and looking for patience and kindness. She would thrive in a calm, gentle home where she can continue to build confidence and share her quiet, devoted love. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly girl who’ll warm your heart (and your lap), Hera is ready to be your little shadow.

🌸 Meet Piper! 🌸 This 7-year-old, 8-pound chihuahua mix has a heart as big as her ears—and she’s SO ready to share it with her forever family. 🐾 Piper and her sister Chloe were picked up as strays and ended up in a high-kill shelter, but everything changed the moment they came into rescue. She melts into your arms like she’s been waiting her whole life for that moment. ✨ She’s confident, easygoing, and absolutely the kind of dog who makes you feel chosen. Plus—she’s house trained and crate trained! 🙌 If you’re searching for a tiny, loyal shadow who will follow you from couch to bed and everywhere in between, Piper is your girl.
