Basement Puppy - Dasher I am the smallest of the boys in this litter of 5 puppies. We were born under a house, not really in a basement, but it was cozy and warm and we grew into loveable puppies! Anyhow, mom was a wild child so we came to the rescue to learn to love people and have a home so we don’t have to walk on the wild side. It is too scary out there to be by yourself when you are little like me! Some of us look like perhaps mom or even dad had some pug in them, as we have some of the coloring or the shorter mugs of a pug. But all of us are 100% adorable! Personally, I don’t know if I have the pug look or not. What do you think? Do I look like a puggy puppy to you? I will be about 15 pounds fully grown as I am just 3#3oz right now, so I shouldn’t be bigger than that. And I am very cute so that will not change as I grow up either! I get my baby making bits removed on January 5, 2026 and then will be able to go to my forever home. Will that be with you? Local Adoption fee in Texas is $350 Out of state adoption fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $600

Hi, I'm Cordelia! I'm a senior lady who has sadly had to come back to the shelter in hopes of finding my last forever home. I was adopted a few years ago and loved dearly but sadly my owner had to go to a nursing home and so I'm back here. I'm a sweet girl but I do have diabetes and a hard time seeing/hearing. Can you give a loving senior girl like me my last home? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop   ##1492386##

Basement Puppy - Cocoa Hello there! My name is Cocoa and I am the smallest one of my litter of 5 puppies who were born under a house. It was nice and cozy for a while, but then we got rescued at 5 weeks and came to our foster mom. Our mom was a little 13 pound chihuahua looking mama dog. Mom was a wild child so we came to the rescue to learn to love people and have a home so we don’t have to walk on the wild side. We love being with our foster mom and playing with the different dogs at the house. One thing you should know is that I can walk through puppy gates as I am that small. So I regularly leave the puppy room and go to the back to see the chihuahua named Busy Boots and the poodles who hang out there. It is fun! Some of us look like perhaps mom or even dad had some pug in them, as we have some of the coloring or the shorter mugs of a pug. But all of us are 100% adorable! I favor the chihuahua side I think. I will be on the small side, depending on what genetic size my rambler dad brought, but I should be under 15-20 pounds fully grown.
