To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---Ellie Mae and Missy are Bonded Buddies; they'll be adopted as a pair - A bundle of joy who is full of love and excitement every time she sees you; gives the most wonderful welcomes in the morning and when you get home - Very playful and cuddly; perfect for someone looking for love and companionship - Likes to be under blankets and will sleep in the bend of your knees under the covers; also likes being in laps - Can be shy at first, but warms up nicely when given time - her previous family said it takes an hour or so for her to warm up to strangers - Has been potty trained and crate-trained in her foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Tan Age: 4yrs 2mths 0wks

Sometimes a name just fits, and Precious is definitely one of those dogs. At 10 years young, she's a sweet, gentle, low-energy girl who can be timid at first, but give her a little time and her affectionate personality begins to shine. Precious gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has settled right into her foster pack (3 large dogs and 2 other chihuahuas) she's even starting to play a little! She loves being near her person—curling up beside her foster mom while she works or occasionally deciding they should share the office chair. She enjoys cuddles but is also perfectly content relaxing on her own. Once Precious bonds with you, she becomes your little lookout and will alert you when she hears something unfamiliar. She's shy with new visitors and just needs a little time to warm up. She's crate trained, walks well and has the cutest little prance. She gets around great and even uses a stool to hop onto the bed. Precious is also discovering TREATS—and she's a big fan! She's got quite the nose for people food, too. One exception: peanut butter is unacceptable. Precious has standards. She's still working on potty training and will let you know when she needs a nighttime potty break. She has no known pre-existing medical conditions. Precious may be 10, but she's still discovering new things and showing us more of her personality every day. She's looking for a patient, loving home where she can enjoy plenty of cozy spots, treats (hold the peanut butter!) and companionship. Sweet, gentle and just a little shy—that's our Precious. Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness.In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. We are a bunch of happy, playful, and slightly clumsy little puppies who are always ready for our next adventure! We love to wrestle, chase each other around, and play with toys. We’re still figuring out how all these legs are supposed to work, so there may be a few adorable puppy tumbles along the way! Our mama is a 10-pound Chihuahua mix, and Dad is a mystery, so we can’t say exactly what we’ll grow up to be.
