Story
Meet McDreamy — a 12-pound Chihuahua who is exactly as charming as his name suggests. This little guy arrived with a painful eye condition and, once it was removed, he blossomed into the happiest, winking ray of sunshine you’ll ever meet. He's somewhere between 6-9 years old (best guess for this former stray). Like any self-respecting Chihuahua, McDreamy may bark or grumble when he meets someone new — but give him a minute and he’s melting into your arms, wagging his tail like a tiny propeller, and demanding snuggles as if you’ve been best friends forever. McDreamy’s vibe with other dogs: • Small dogs: “You’re cool. Let’s hang.” • Big dogs: “I decline.” He’s not a fighter, but he won’t back down if another dog brings the drama, so a home without an alpha-type resident is ideal. He’s affectionate, clever, deeply cuddly, and—bonus—housebroken. A tidy little gentleman through and through. Everything is exciting to McDreamy: • 🍽️ Mealtime: Pure joy. • 🌳 Walks: Peak adventure. • 🛌 Burrowing under the blankets: Nightly bliss. • 🎾 Toys: Big fan. Loves all of them. Will proudly parade them around like trophies. He asks for love almost instantly in neutral territory, snuggles like a pro, sleeps under the covers like it’s his life’s calling, and leans into you with total trust. He is currently getting daily ointment in his remaining eye, which he tolerates quite well, and may need it for the foreseeable future. If you’re looking for a pint-sized sweetheart who will adore you, follow you everywhere, and fill your home with wiggly, affectionate joy, McDreamy is ready to sweep you off your feet. 💕🐾 If you are interested in finding out more about McDreamy, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog McDreamy is currently being fostered in Millbury, MA. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Lexie — a 4-year-old Chihuahua with a big personality, a bigger heart, and just enough sass to keep life interesting. 💁‍♀️🐾 According to her foster mom, “she’s wonderful!” — and that pretty much sums it up. Lexie is smart, knows lots of commands, and absolutely lives for playtime. She LOVES playing with other dogs and thrives in a lively, bustling home where there’s always something going on. Lexie uses her voice strategically — to ask for attention, request a potty break, or alert you to a potential “intruder”. Once she’s settled and content, she relaxes beautifully and happily curls up with her people. Lexie does great with kids, dogs, and cats in her foster mom’s busy household and handles chaos like a champ. Running kids? Multiple pets? General household mayhem? She’s in her element. She can get a little mouthy during high-energy play, but it’s all excitement and enthusiasm — no hard biting, just a pup who sometimes forgets she’s not a lion cub. And when the energy winds down? Lexie turns into a cuddle bug extraordinaire. She LOVES giving kisses, soaking up affection, and being carried around like the tiny VIP she is. Lexie isn’t an off-leash gal (too many fun distractions), and she listens best when properly motivated — but she’s charming enough that you’ll forgive her selective hearing. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate, playful little dog who wants to be part of the action and part of the cuddle pile, Lexie is ready to bring the fun, the love, and the kisses to your home. 💛🐶 If you are interested in finding out more about Lexie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Lexie is being fostered in West Brookfield, MA. Story
Meet Zu!We’ve quickly fallen in love with all the personality packed inside this tiny pup. Zu is a spirited, sassy little Chihuahua who tends to be cautious with new people. With patience, space, and gentle introductions, Zu opens up beautifully. Once he feels safe, he’s affectionate, goofy, and eager to snuggle with “his” people.Zu has lived with other dogs before, but here at the shelter he prefers doing his own thing (and occasionally announcing his boundaries with barks). We believe he would do better with no other dogs. He’ll thrive in a calm home without young children, where new faces and activity aren’t nonstop.Zu also has a grade 3 luxating patella in his knee. At this time, surgery is not recommended. We simply suggest limiting big jumps and fast zoomies—but walks, playtime, and all the cuddles are just what the doctor ordered! If you’re patient, kind, and ready to meet a spicy-sweet companion who will blossom in the right home, Zu may be your perfect match.Walk-in adoption hours: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 12–4 PMCan’t make those times? Story
Meet Toby — a 5-year-old (+/-) Chihuahua with a heart full of love, a head full of opinions, and legs that are always ready to zoom. Toby is what we’d call a “selective socialite.” He’s not the type to run up to strangers and hand out friendship bracelets—but with patience (and a thorough sniff test), he’s been making progress. He’s had several positive experiences meeting new people lately, which shows how much potential he has when given time and encouragement. Basically, he’s a tiny bouncer in a fur coat who’s learning that maybe not everyone is trying to sneak into the VIP lounge. Here’s what Toby does love: 🌲 Nature walks on quiet trails, where he struts like he owns the forest. 💦 Splashing at the water’s edge—he’s not a swimmer yet, but he’s curious. 🥦 Broccoli. Yes, seriously. He’s a veggie connoisseur. 🧹 The vacuum? Not scary. Toby’s got bigger things to bark at. 🚗 Car rides are his jam—bonus points if he gets to announce his arrival out the window. 🐱 Cats? Totally fine. Zero drama there. Now, Toby isn’t without quirks. Cars on walks? He thinks they need to be put in their place, so he’ll bark and lunge to make sure they know who’s boss. Strangers? He’s still learning that new people can be okay, though he listens beautifully to direction and encouragement once he trusts his human. With patience, consistency, and maybe a little professional training, Toby has all the potential to keep growing into his best self. At home, he’s a lovable cuddle bug who adores pets and zooms around like a caffeinated squirrel when he’s excited. He’s affectionate, playful, and absolutely hilarious once he feels secure. Toby may never be your party pup or the mayor of the dog park, but he doesn’t need to be. What he will be is a fiercely loyal, endlessly entertaining little companion who will love you with everything he’s got. Adopt Toby—your spicy, snuggly adventure buddy with a bark that’s big, but a heart that’s even bigger. 🐾💚 If you are interested in finding out more about Toby, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Toby is being fostered in Groton, MA. Story
It is difficult for Luna to meet new people. Because of that, she can be met by appointment only. If you are interested in meeting Luna please go to our website worcesterarl.org and fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form https://worcesterarl.org/dog-adoption-inquiry/ - please indicate when you would be available on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday between 9am and 3pm on any part of the form and a staff member will reach out. You can email dogs@worcesterarl.org with questions. Meet Luna! We have come to appreciate Luna’s big personality packed into a tiny frame. Luna is a sassy Chihuahua who can be wary of new people and will often voice her opinions with barking while she figures things out. With time, patience, and respectful introductions, Luna’s trust grows. Once it does, she is incredibly loving, affectionate, and playful with her people.Luna has lived with other dogs in the past, though at the shelter she has preferred to keep to herself or bark rather than make canine friends. She would do best in a calmer home environment without kids, or busy apartment complexes with constant new people and animals overwhelming her. For the right home willing to go at her pace, Luna will be a devoted and delightful companion.

Story
Meet Bentley: your future shadow, hype man, and play buddy 🐾 Bentley is a young, happy-go-lucky guy who looooves people. Seriously—if you’re human, you’re already his favorite. He’s friendly, social, and full of life, with that contagious puppy energy that makes every day feel a little more fun. He gets along well with other dogs and would make an excellent playmate for tug, fetch, or backyard zoomies. Bentley is an outdoor enthusiast at heart and would thrive with regular walks and adventures—especially once the warmer weather rolls in. He’s doing great with pottying outside and understands the concept well. That said, he will occasionally have indoor poop accidents if his cues are missed—he’s got a very specific “poop dance” shortly after meals or first thing in the morning (once you learn it, you won’t miss it 😉). With a consistent walking routine, especially when it’s warmer and easier to get outside regularly, this is expected to be an easy habit for him to outgrow. When the day winds down, Bentley shows off his great house manners: he sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ, no fuss at all. During the day, he can get a bit of FOMO if he’s separated from his humans (he just loves you that much), so he may need a little continued work building confidence with alone time. With consistency and reassurance, he’ll do great. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, people-loving companion who brings energy, affection, and a whole lot of personality—Bentley is your guy 💙 If you are interested in finding out more about Bentley, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Bentley is being fostered in Grafton, MA.
