Story
Meet Vivi! Vivi was found as a stray and ended up in animal control before coming to rescue. She is estimated to be around 10 years old, but she definitely didn’t get the memo—Vivi has plenty of energy and a tail that seems to wag nonstop. She’s a happy, curious girl who loves to be part of the action. If something moves, Vivi wants to check it out! She enjoys playing and still has a fun, youthful spirit. Vivi is a smart girl who knows “sit” and understands “no.” She appears eager to please and is learning that calm behavior earns attention and pets. She is also very good motivated. 😉 She’s quiet in her kennel, keeps it clean, and has not been destructive in her foster home. After a couple of initial accidents (normal when adjusting to a new home), she’s doing well going potty outside. She LOVES walks and belly rubs!! Vivi has met the resident dog in her foster home and did fine, but she can be a little enthusiastic and barky and is still learning doggy boundaries. Because of this, she will need slow introductions with other dogs. Vivi can also be a little sneaky around doors, so adopters will need to be careful when coming and going. She should not be off leash unless in a securely fenced area, as she does enjoy running. She is not a fan of small squeaky fast-moving kids but older kids are ok. Vivi is not a fan of apartments and wants to protect her owner so will bark at strangers. A house with a fenced yard is best for Vivi. If you think Vivi might be the right fit for your home, please apply at www.campcompanion.org. Her adoption fee is $450 plus tax

Story
Meet Scooter! 🐾 Scooter is a 2-year-old long-haired Chihuahua who came to Camp Companion along with six other Chihuahuas, and this little guy has definitely found his place in the pack! He is a fun, playful boy who absolutely loves running and playing with the other dogs. In fact, he has a whole pack of girls that love to chase him around the yard, and watching them all zoom around together is pretty hilarious! 😂 Scooter is a happy guy who likes to follow his people around but is evasive if you try to catch him. He is still learning that being handled and picked up can be a good thing. He needs someone patient who will continue working with him and helping him become more comfortable with handling and new experiences. Once you have him picked up and are holding him, he does just fine. Scooter is use to a securely fenced yard with a doggie door. The leash is very scary to him right now, so having a safe yard where he can comfortably go outside is important. We will be working with him on leash skills this week and hopefully helping him discover that a leash isn't quite as terrifying as he thinks it is! 😊 Scooter is **potty trained** and knows how to use a doggy door. If a potty pad is available, he'll use that too. He is looking for someone patient who understands that building trust takes time and is willing to help him continue coming out of his shell. With a little patience, Scooter has so much potential to become a wonderful companion. If you're looking for a fun little Chihuahua who will keep you entertained and who has plenty of personality, Scooter might be your guy! ❤️ **Adoption fee: $450 + tax** Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org

Story
**Meet Rikki – A Tiny Survivor Looking for Her One Special Person ❤️** Rikki is a beautiful 2-year-old long-haired black Chihuahua whose story hasn't been an easy one. She came to us after being picked up as a stray, and it was immediately clear that somewhere along the way, this little girl learned that people couldn't always be trusted. When Rikki first arrived, she was terrified. She spent her days hiding and protecting herself the only way she knew how. But one patient shelter staff member refused to give up on her. Day by day, without rushing or forcing interactions, Rikki slowly decided that maybe one human was safe. Before long, she was racing to the front of her kennel whenever she heard her favorite person, happily asking to be picked up, snuggling into her arms, and showering her with tiny kisses. It showed everyone that underneath all that fear is a dog capable of loving deeply. Since coming into foster care, Rikki has continued to make progress—but she is still healing, both emotionally and possibly physically. She was so overwhelmed that she didn't eat for her first three days. She enjoys curling up on her foster mom's chest and has started seeking comfort from the person she trusts. At the same time, she remains very cautious. She is protective of her personal space, especially around her neck and mouth, and she may bite if she feels frightened or pressured. She also appears uncomfortable with other dogs around her and will growl if they get too close. Rikki has some behaviors that make us wonder what she may have experienced before rescue. She deserves a family that will look beyond those fears and see a little dog who has simply learned to survive. With patience, consistency, and kindness, we believe she can continue to blossom. Rikki is looking for a very special home: * An adult-only household with no young children. One owner. * Someone experienced with fearful or under socialized dogs is strongly preferred. * A patient adopter who will let Rikki set the pace and never force affection or handling. * A securely fenced yard is recommended while trust is being built, as she is not yet comfortable with many aspects of handling. * She may do best as an only dog or with a calm, respectful dog after careful introductions. Rikki isn't the dog who will instantly greet everyone with kisses. She's the dog who will make you earn her trust—and when you do, you'll have something incredibly special. Watching a frightened dog discover that the world can be safe again is one of the most rewarding journeys there is. If you're looking for a rescue project with a heart worth fighting for, Rikki may just be waiting for you. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $450 plus tax.

Story
# Meet Little Bit ❤️ Little Bit aka Ramona originally came to us from a hoarding case in Arkansas in 2024. She was adopted, but sadly, her owner now has to move out of the country, so Little Bit is back with us and looking for her forever home. Little Bit is a **very special little Chihuahua** who needs an adopter willing to understand and respect her boundaries. She can be incredibly cuddly—but it has to be on her terms. She will happily let you pet her with one hand, but she does not like being approached or touched with two hands. Because of this, picking her up can be challenging, and she may bite if she feels scared or trapped. She is kennel trained, but she also enjoys sleeping in bed with her person. She is potty trained and does well using a doggy door or potty pad. She gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Little Bit **requires another confident, friendly dog in the home**. Having a canine companion gives her comfort and confidence and helps her feel more secure in her surroundings. We are looking for an **adult-only home with Chihuahua experience** that understands her quirks and will give her the time, patience, and respect she needs to feel safe. A **securely fenced yard is required**, as Little Bit is not comfortable being leashed and you will not be able to safely put a leash on her. Little Bit isn't the right dog for everyone, but for the right home, she will be a sweet and cuddly little companion who will love you in her own special way. ❤️ **Adoption fee: $450 + tax** If you think Little Bit might be the girl for you, please visit **CampCompanion.org** to learn more and apply.

Absolutely! Peaches sounds like a total sweetheart. 🍑 Here’s a warm, adoption-ready bio: ### 🍑 Meet Peaches — A Little Peach of a Chihuahua! Just as her name suggests, **Peaches is an absolute peach!** 🍑 This adorable **4-month-old Chihuahua currently weighs about 5 pounds** and is growing into a sweet, playful little girl with plenty of personality. Peaches came to us with six other Chihuahuas and absolutely loves having doggy friends around. Her favorite thing in the world is **running and playing in the yard with her Chihuahua buddies**. She especially enjoys the company of other small dogs and would love a home with a playful little canine friend. Peaches is doing fantastic with her potty training! She knows how to use a potty pad and also happily heads outside through the doggy door. **She has not been having accidents on the floor**, which is pretty impressive for such a young pup! She is still learning that being picked up isn't something to worry about. She's **not leash trained yet and isn't particularly fond of being picked up**, but here's the sweet part—once she's safely in your arms, she settles in and **loves to cuddle**. ❤️ She just needs more gentle handling and positive experiences to help her learn that being picked up means good things are coming.
