Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Biscuit is an approximately 3-4 year old chihuahua/terrier mix who came to us on 10/4/2025 with her housemate Daisy. Their owner passed away. Biscuit and Daisy have always been together and are considered a "bonded pair". The girls were extremely shy when they first came to us which is why it has taken us so long to put them up for adoption. They are now fully vetted and ready for a new home. The fee for both of them is $250. The two girls are looking for an ADULT only home. Teens are okay. They will require a lot of patience and some basic training. They are very shy with new people but blossom into fun loving characters once they're comfortable. They did live with other small dogs. We were told by family members that Biscuit is not good with cats. FENCED YARD REQUIRED. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 23, 2026, 8:32 pm

Story
Shorty got his name from his short little stubby legs, and he’s every bit as adorable as you’d imagine. This sweet little Chihuahua spent his life as a breeder dog, so living in a home is still new to him—but he’s doing really well and making steady progress every day. Shorty gets along wonderfully with other dogs and truly needs another dog in the home to help him feel safe and confident. He knows how to use a doggy door to go outside to potty, though he may still have an occasional accident or choose to use a potty pad. Shorty recently had his eye removed due to a non-healing ulcer and also had a dental with several extractions. He has recovered well and is now ready to start his next chapter. Because he is still healing, we have not tried leash walking yet. He is kennel trained, very quiet, and not a barker. Shorty will allow you to pick him up if you gently corner him and say “stop” or “wait,” and he will sit with you for short periods, though he doesn’t yet come to you asking to be picked up. With patience, kindness, and routine, he continues to grow more comfortable each day. Shorty would do best in a calm, quiet home with another dog and a secure fenced yard. His journey is just beginning, and he’s looking for a loving home to continue helping him feel safe and loved. Adoption fee is $350 plus tax. Apply to adopt at CampCompanion.org 🐾

Story
Meet Your New Favorite Little Blanket Buddy! This adorable 2-year-old Chihuahua mix may be small, but she packs a whole lot of joy into one tiny body. By day, she’s a backyard zoomie champion. Give her a fenced yard (fence not required) and a playful dog friend, and she’s in her element — running, chasing, bouncing around, and happily entertaining herself with toys. She absolutely loves other dogs and thrives with friendly, non-aggressive playmates. By night (or honestly, any time you sit down), she becomes a professional snuggler. When playtime is over, she will come looking for you — gently nuzzling under your arm or burrowing under a blanket to get as close as possible. If you’ve ever wanted a tiny heated blanket that follows you around, she’s your girl. She: • Is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations • Is crate-trained overnight and settles in nicely • Walks well on leash • Is potty trained outside and will use pee pads if needed • Rides well in the car A few things to know: • She is not good with cats • She can be vocal — and she does not whisper when she barks — so apartment living may not be the best fit • She prefers to dine solo and should be fed separately from other dogs • We’re unsure how she is with children She would do best in a home that enjoys a playful, affectionate little companion who brings both energy and cuddles to the table. She’s not looking to run the household — she’s just looking for someone to love, someone to play with, and a cozy blanket to share. If you’re ready for backyard zoomies, toy time, and nightly blanket snuggles, this sweet girl is ready to meet you. Adoption fee: $350 plus tax (approximate total with Tax: about $378.44) Apply at: www.campcompanion.org

Story
Meet Toddie 🐾 Toddie is a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix with a big personality in a little body. He absolutely loves meeting new people and has a playful, goofy side that will keep you smiling. He’s funny, affectionate, and when playtime winds down, he’s more than happy to curl up and cuddle. He truly is just the best little boy. Toddie loves his toys and enjoys staying busy. He recently had a dental cleaning, so his pearly whites are sparkling and he’s feeling fantastic — all ready for his forever home! He’s potty trained, kennel trained, and walks perfectly on a leash (no pulling at all — total gentleman status). He does great with other dogs, especially ones who enjoy a good play session. Toddie is good with kids but would prefer not to have them living in his home. He will also alert bark if someone comes to the door — a tiny but mighty little watchdog. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, playful, cuddly companion who will keep you company and let you know when someone’s at the door, Toddie is your guy. Apply at campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 + tax. 💙

Story
We call him Quint. If you've seen Jaws and are aware of the Quint's fate in the film, you might have some idea what happened to our little boy here. Quint was found in Tijuana Mexico nearly bitten in half. Bitten: We were told it was a dog attack, but it looked a lot like a machete wound. Either way, it was awful. Quint has healed beautifully. Sure, there are scars under his little coat - fairly good ones. But those just tell the story of what Quint has overcome. And overcome he has! Quint is healthy, friendly, clever, active, loving, cuddly and quickly learning all the things he should. He even braves the cold without complaint to do his business! So, if you're looking for a wonderful pal about 12 pounds and 3.5 years old.... we know him, and you should meet him. Quint is great with dogs his size; big dogs scare him which is understandable. He is a clinger and major lap dog. He loves his people and is very social. He loves racing around the back yard. He is potty trained on a schedule. Quint was adopted a year ago and is getting returned due to barking in the apartment and needing work on pottying outside consistently. He does best on a schedule. He lived with a toddler and was amazing with it. We now are looking for a home, **no apartments** or shared walls for Quint. He isn't a fan of being left alone and will bark. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Meet Pixie ✨ Pixie is a one-year-old Chihuahua mix with a tall, slender build and long, graceful legs that make her look as delicate as she is sweet. She was found as a stray in Arkansas with her two brothers, and just one day after arriving at the shelter, she gave birth to six puppies. All of her babies have since been adopted… and Pixie was left behind, scared and alone. That’s when she came into our rescue. Pixie is a shy, sensitive girl who is still learning to trust people. She doesn’t yet approach her foster mom on her own, but she will accept pets and be picked up, showing that she is slowly discovering how nice gentle attention can feel. She just hasn’t fully learned to seek it out or realize how much she enjoys it—but with patience and love, she will. 🐾 She is wonderful with other dogs and would likely do best in a home with confident canine companions to help her feel safe. She knows how to use a doggy door and is respectful in the home. A securely fenced yard is highly recommended, as she’s still learning how to walk on a leash and explore the world confidently. Pixie is a true work in progress, but the right adopter will see her potential for a sweet, loyal, and loving companion. With time, patience, and consistency, she’ll learn to trust and enjoy life—and she will repay your kindness in ways only a shy soul like hers can. 👉 Apply to adopt at campcompanion.org 💲 Adoption fee: $350 + tax Pixie is ready for her second chance—she just needs someone willing to give her the time to blossom. 💕
