Snapshot of Foxalini: Size? Small Activity Level? I can run circles around the yard if you let me! But I'm generally low energy. Noise Level? I bark when I want something but its nothing excessive. Good with Dogs? I love other dogs! Good with Cats? Cats are SO boring! I ignore them. Good with Kids? I love little ones after I'm settled in! Good with Strangers? I'm a little nervous at first. But once I'm comfortable I love everyone! Potty Trained? Yep! Crate Trained? I cry in my crate. But I do well when left outside of one! Shedding? I don't shed much! About Foxalini: Foxalini is an adorable chihuahua mix. We aren't sure what the "mix" part is but based on her long legs, we assume it's part deer. She came to us from a reservation and we aren't sure what her life was like there. But when she first arrived she was quite scared and shy. When she learned we had yummy treats, soft beds, and gentle pets she quickly became comfortable and is SUCH a different dog now than when she first walked through our door. She enjoys chasing our cattle dog mix around the yard and then when she's feeling really fast she pushes him to chase her. But her long legs help her glide through the yard and it's quite impressive to see her out run a dog that's 5 times her size! When they're both tired out she comes inside and snuggles with our elderly dachshund. She's met a couple other dogs of varying sizes as well and did great with them all! We have cats too and Foxlini ignores them. Although she would probably cuddle with one of the cats if they wanted to cuddle with her. She loves to play with our 4 year old daughter as well and will often choose her lap to curl up in over ours if our daughter sits still long enough for her to get comfortable. She can be a little clingy at times. But we haven't had any issues when she is left in the house without humans. We think the other dogs help comfort her so being adopted into a home with another dog would be really beneficial! She would be fine in a home without a fenced yard too. But she really loves to run freely in our yard so having a fence is an added bonus! Otherwise, Foxalini's only other requests for her new home are patience while she settles in and the ability to sleep in bed with her humans at night. She loves fluffy comforters and sleeping right next to you! Foxalini is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for her age. I am Jackson. I am from Alabama. From his foster: Jackson is a very sweet and playful puppy. He loves to snuggle. He does get along with other dogs and reads other dogs body language well. He wmis doing well with potty training but will continue to need to work on it. He does well in his kennel after a few minutes. He does better off leash when needing to go potty so a fenced in yard would be preferred. He would do great as an only dog or with another playful pup.

Scarlet is a local owner surrender who is super friendly and loves to play. She has lived with dogs, cats and kids and does fine with everyone. She is 98% housebroken but still uses a potty pad once in a while. She is crate trained and doesn't bark excessively. From her foster: Scarlet is such a sweet, loving girl who is learning to trust and get comfortable in new situations. She loves nothing more than some belly rubs and to be around her people. She has really been enjoying walks as the weather warms up, meal time, and wrestle matches with her small dog foster sis! Scarlet gets a little nervous with new people and situations, but once she has time to adjust she is such a sweetheart! She does well with adults, teens, and older children. She has not been around children under 10 years of age. Scarlet would love a home where her person is around during the day. She gets a little lonely and can bark and howl when left alone. Because of this shared walls are not recommended. Scarlet is potty trained on a regular schedule and has a history of using potty pads and is good about using those on a rainy or extra chilly days!

Oh hello! My name is Diva and while it describes my personality as I would definitely enjoy being carried around in a handbag, my foster family is calling me Georgia. But as long as they accept my diva personality they can call me what they want!  You're probably wondering what else qualifies me to have a diva personality. Well let me enlighten you! I can co-exist with other dogs in a home just fine because my itty bitty five pound self can hold my own. My foster momma says I can even be a little bossy to the other dogs if they don't give me what I want like the humans' lap. I also love to be front and center and have the attention of all the humans. However, I can be overwhelemed with too much activity in the house so no small, sticky, stinky kids please only the taller, calmer teenagers please!  Beyond my sparkling, adorable diva-ness I am also housebroken and will go potty outside but if you leave a potty pad down I will use it if I need to. I do not currently use a crate in my foster home and have been trusted to roam free as the queen should, obviously! I can be a little shy at first but it doesn't take long before my big bold personality and wagging tail make an appearance. I don't bark much, it's not ladylike, but will use my voice if I need to with the other dogs.  So far in my foster home I have found a handful of activities that keep me busy during the day. These activities include, but are not limited to, sitting for treats like a little prairie dog, exploring the outdoors in style, sunbathing in the warm sunshine, delicious little soft treats, massages and scratches because who doesn't, and giving lots of kisses! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Catalonia. This little cuddle bug is on her way to Minnesota to find her people/person. She is a friendly, sweet pup who likes other dogs and humans of all ages. She especially likes it when she can be with her people/person. She likes to 'sing' with the toddler in her foster home. Maybe if you can hit the right notes she'll sing with you too. She has been known to find clothes or shoes to chew if she gets bored so it will be important to have appropriate toys available and plenty of activity. She is crate trained, but she might have a little bit to say about it when she is first closed in. She is already potty trained, but she has been using a doggy door in Texas so she may need a little time and patience to get into a new routine. This girl is going to make someone a fantastic companion with lots of love to give. Is that someone you? Catalonia is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 5/4/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program.
