Story
Hello, my name is Clyde, AKA unsure, AKA Mr Bouncy. I love playing with other small friendly playful dogs. I would be much happier with a little buddy of my own. I would prefer an adult only household. When I am excited I bounce up and down with all fours leaving the ground so I earned the nickname Mr Bouncy. My fancy pants bounce around when I trot🤣. I do not like to be picked up/held and I will try to jump out of your arms so an owner who is ok with that would be best for me. Once I know you I will come to you for pets on my own terms. I love playing with other small dog friendly dogs. I have not been cat tested. I am still figuring out house training, I am a work in progress. I am afraid of strangers I do not know. I need to be an inside dog, I am small and would make an easy snack for predators so I should be supervised outside.

Story
Hello I am Butters and I am fabulous! I am the sweetest guy once I get to know you. I am the biggest flirt ever! I would love to be the guardian of your home and yard. I take my warrior duties seriously 🤣. Do you need private security to escort you around your home? I am the guy for the job. I need to be in an adult only household, I promise to take my cuddle duties seriously. I do not like strangers so I do need time to get to know people. Once I know my people they are my entire world. Once I know you I love to be picked up, held, cuddled, naps ALL the things! I need to be in a household that doesn’t have a lot of people there or people coming and going because I am very protective of my home/people/yard. I am very smart and pick up on cues and words very quickly. I have not been cat tested. I am still working on my house training.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Missy may be small, but the love she has to give is anything but. This darling Chihuahua has the sweetest soul and approaches life with a gentle, trusting nature. She’s the kind of dog who is simply happy to be by your side, whether she’s curled up in her cozy bed or snuggled beside you under the blankets. Missy absolutely adores people and has never met a treat she didn’t appreciate! She’s food-motivated, enjoys mealtime, and is always happy to earn a tasty reward—though treats should be given in moderation because this little lady likes to keep her girlish figure. She gets along beautifully with other dog-friendly small  dogs and truly enjoys having canine companions around. Since all of her foster friends have been small breeds, we aren’t sure how she feels about larger dogs. While she’s happy to join in when the other dogs announce something worth barking about, she’s otherwise a quiet, easygoing girl. Missy would prefer a home without cats, as they simply aren’t her cup of tea. Missy walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out to explore. She’s doing well with her potty training and thrives on a consistent schedule. She doesn’t require a fenced yard or a kennel, making her an easy addition to many different types of homes. Missy would be happiest in a home with older, respectful children or adults only. We’ve learned that young children make her feel uncomfortable, and while she may growl to let them know she needs space, she has not shown any desire to lash out. We believe she’s simply frightened by the unpredictability of little kids and will thrive in a home where her boundaries are understood and respected. Toys aren’t really her thing—people are. Missy’s favorite pastime is simply being loved and loving you right back. She’ll happily shower you with kisses, soak up every bit of affection you have to offer, and remind you every day just how special the bond between a dog and their family can be. Whoever is lucky enough to welcome Missy home is getting an incredibly kind, affectionate, and adaptable companion. She’s the type of dog who quietly makes every day a little brighter, and she’s sure to make one very lucky family incredibly happy.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Do you want to meet me? I will be at Chuck and Don's in Eden Prairie, 8022 Den Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 for an Adoption Event on Saturday, July 11th from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Teddy is proof that big personalities can come in very small packages! This charming Chihuahua is always happy to see his people and approaches life with a cheerful, go-with-the-flow attitude. Whether he’s playing with toys, soaking up attention, tagging along on car rides, or accompanying you to a brewery patio, Teddy is simply happy to be part of the adventure. Teddy loves to play, run around, and explore, but with his short little legs, he doesn’t need long walks to be content. In fact, one of his favorite ways to travel is riding in his special shoulder bag, where he can take in the sights while staying close to his favorite humans. Teddy must have had a previous break on his front leg, but it healed and while it looks funny, it causes him no issue or pain right now. He is leash trained and does well on walks when wearing his preferred harness. Teddy also does well in the car and enjoys joining his family on outings. He is affectionate, playful, goofy, and loves being a lap dog when the day is done. Teddy prefers dogs closer to his own size and would be perfectly happy as an only dog. He does not require a canine companion as long as his people are home often and can give him the love and attention he craves. Teddy is not crate trained and can be vocal when confined. He tends to bark, takes time to settle, and may have accidents in a crate. Because of this, he would do best with a family that is home frequently and can accommodate his preference for being close to his people. If you’re looking for a fun-loving little sidekick who will happily accompany you wherever life takes you, Teddy may be the perfect match! Story
Wallace is looking for a dog to adopt him. If that dog happens to come with people, that’s fine too. Wallace is not the kind of dog who dreams about sitting in your lap all day or constantly asking for pets. He enjoys sharing space with his humans and being part of whatever is going on around him. In fact, Wallace will happily follow you from room to room. Not because he needs attention, but because he likes to keep an eye on things. He is the neighborhood watch coordinator of your house, quietly supervising your activities and adorably peeking around corners to see what you’re doing. He loves a comfy dog bed, enjoys hanging out with his dog friends, and has some of the cutest body wiggles you will ever see when he is happy. If you pick him up, he will happily tolerate being held, but it is not something he seeks out on his own. While Wallace doesn’t require constant affection from people, he does have one important request: he would really like a dog sibling who will play with him. Other dogs are his favorite thing, and he would love a home where he has a canine friend to wrestle, play, and hang out with. Wallace is perfect for someone who appreciates a dog simply being present. No constant demands, no need to be the center of attention, just a sweet little guy who wants to be included in your daily routine while maintaining his independence. If your ideal companion is a dog who will quietly supervise your activities, make you smile with his adorable wiggles, and spend his days relaxing nearby with a dog friend by his side, Wallace may be exactly who you are looking for. Wallace is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 7/255/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
