Story
I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. Once they learn more about me, they will add more information here! *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* ---- Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape.

Story
Hi, my name is Boots and I am from Alabama! I am heartworm positive but will be starting my treatment soon after arriving, so I need a quiet, comfy spot to rest my head and a patient foster who can shower me with love and good vibes while I get better. My adoption can take place during treatment.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Some dogs are happiest chasing adventure, but Marge has already figured out life’s greatest joy—being close to the person she loves. This sweet little Chihuahua is gentle, devoted, and happiest when she’s by your side, ready to keep you company through every part of the day. Marge enjoys life’s simple pleasures: leisurely exploring a fenced yard, curling up close to her favorite human, and settling in with a good chew. She doesn’t need long hikes or endless activity thanks to her adorable little legs, but she does appreciate getting outside to sniff around at her own pace. She’s great about letting you know when she needs to go outside and is also potty pad trained for times when you’re away. When you come home, expect an enthusiastic welcome from this happy little lady! Like many Chihuahuas, Marge has some age-related cloudiness in her eyes. She gets around bright spaces with ease and cleverly relies on her excellent hearing and nose when lighting is dim. It doesn’t stop her from enjoying life or doing all the things she loves. Marge would be happiest in a calm, slower-paced home without a lot of commotion, where she can truly relax and build a close bond with her family. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who will happily keep you company, shower you with affection, and remind you every day that the best things in life are the simplest, Marge is ready to be your new best friend.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Chewy is a lovable little Chihuahua mix with the sweetest personality and an adorable goofy streak that shines once he feels safe. While he may be shy at first, give him a little time and you’ll discover a playful, silly companion who will absolutely steal your heart. In his foster home, Chewy’s favorite thing is playing with his best friend, Ledi, who came into rescue with him. He loves racing around the yard like a little rocket, sneaking off with toys to stash them in his favorite spot, and settling in with a good bone to chew. One of his foster family’s favorite things is watching his signature “Chewy waddle” as he proudly plods back from a toy adventure—it’s impossible not to smile! New people and unfamiliar places can make Chewy a bit cautious. He’s the type who likes to hang back, observe, and investigate things on his own terms before deciding everything is safe. Once you’ve earned his trust, though, you’ll see just how affectionate, playful, and entertaining he truly is. Chewy enjoys the company of other dogs, especially pups his own size, and would likely do best in a home with a similarly sized canine companion to play with and help him continue building confidence. He and Ledi love playing together, chewing on bones side by side, and enjoying all the little adventures the backyard has to offer. Chewy is a smart little guy who is crate trained, potty trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He would thrive with a patient family that understands shy dogs and is willing to let him build confidence at his own pace. If you’re looking for a gentle soul with a goofy personality, a love of toys, and a heart that’s just waiting to blossom, Chewy might be your perfect match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Ledi is a sweet, happy little Chihuahua who brings sunshine wherever she goes. She’s incredibly friendly and loves meeting new people — young, old, and everyone in between — greeting them with enthusiastic tail wags and plenty of kisses. Her joyful, affectionate personality makes her an instant favorite. Ledi is playful and a little goofy in the best way. She enjoys chewing on bones, playing with toys, and spending time with her best buddy, Chewy — her bonded companion who she absolutely adores. These two share a special connection and must be adopted together. Ledi loves being near her people and Chewy, but she’s not overly clingy — she’s just as happy to explore the yard, soak up the sunshine, and then come back for some cuddles. She’s a well-rounded girl who already knows commands like “come,” “outside,” and “go potty,” and she gets along beautifully with other dog-friendly dogs. She rides nicely in the car, has an easygoing, even temperament, and settles in comfortably wherever she goes. Ledi has completed treatment for heartworm and is now negative. She’ll simply need to stay on monthly preventatives for life to keep her healthy — an easy routine that will help her continue to thrive. Ledi is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and easygoing. If you’re looking for a loving pair to brighten your home, Ledi and Chewy are ready to bring double the joy, double the love, and a lifetime of companionship.
