Story
Meet Bambi , a precious 14-year-old Chihuahua who weighs just 6 pounds but will fill your heart with love. Bambi is a calm and peaceful soul who spends most of her day happily snoozing in a cozy spot. She's very quiet—only letting out a bark when she needs a potty break, and even then, it’s an adorable, fox-like yip that’s sure to make you smile. Because Bambi has a heart murmur (as shared by her previous owner), she does best in a serene environment where she can take life at her own pace. She's the perfect match for someone looking for a low-energy companion, whether you're retired, work from home, or simply appreciate a calm, loving presence nearby. Bambi would thrive in a home with older children who understand how to be gentle, and she’d also do well with other calm, senior dogs who respect her space. Her dream home is one with soft blankets, sunny windows, and someone who’ll treasure her golden years. Age: 14 years old Breed: Chihuahua  Weight: 6.5 pounds Kid-friendly: Yes, older children Dogs: Yes, older dogs that are calm Cats: Yes Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns:  Heart murmur, 98% deaf, losing night vision, barely has any teeth left. Current medications & estimated costs: None Adoption fee: $225 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!    May 21, 2025, 3:21 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Furby is exactly what his name suggests—happy, silly, and full of charm. He has this constant, goofy grin that makes it look like he’s always in on the joke, and his lighthearted energy is contagious. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and fits in easily with the pack. He came from a Texas animal control, likely a stray, though he’s got the social skills of a dog who once had a home. He’s never been timid or aggressive, just an all-around sweet and playful guy. He does occasionally lift his leg to mark, but with consistency and a little structure, he’s the type of dog who has quickly settled into a routine. Furby sometimes joins the barking chorus when other dogs react to foot traffic outside, especially on the bayou trail near his foster home. But otherwise, he’s pretty easygoing. He’d love to have a canine buddy, but it’s not a requirement—he’s just as happy bonding closely with his humans. All in all, Furby is a cheerful, affectionate dog who wants to be part of a home where he can shine. With a little guidance, he’s going to be someone’s very best friend. Furby is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Parvati came into a Texas shelter severely malnourished and fighting Parvo, but you’d never know it now. She’s bounced back with a whole lot of spirit and just the right touch of sass. Her will to survive is obvious in the way she plays, learns, and loves—this puppy is tough, smart, and full of personality. She’s naturally submissive and takes cues well from other dogs. She’s great with kids, other dogs, and even cats. She’s still learning not to guard her food, a habit from when meals weren’t guaranteed, but she’s improving every day as she learns that there will always be food now. Parvati is working on potty pad training and leash walking—she’s not perfect yet, but she’s picking it up quickly, especially with a harness. She barks like a normal puppy for attention or during play, and she’s eager to learn and please. This tiny pup has a big personality, and honestly, she’s earned it. She’s playful, affectionate, and a quick study. Parvati would thrive in any home that can offer her the structure, stimulation, and love every puppy deserves. Parvati is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 6/28/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9AM and 12pm. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Esperanza is a gentle, mostly quiet girl who’s learning to enjoy the good life after coming from a shelter. She may be a little unsure at first, but give her just a couple of minutes and she’ll be bouncing around with joy—literally! When she gets excited, she starts bounding like a happy little deer, and it’s impossible not to smile. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playful moments, but she also loves being picked up and snuggled. Understandably, she is a little protective of her food so she should be fed separately from other pets. Esperanza is mostly potty trained and adjusting well to life outside the shelter. She can be vocal when she’s confined or when the other dogs are barking—she just doesn’t want to be left out of the conversation! Esperanza would do wonderfully in a calm, loving home where she can keep blossoming. If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly companion with a touch of spunk and a heart full of love, Esperanza is ready to meet you! Esperanza is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 06/28/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rudolph was found in a field with a mama dog and several puppies—likely dumped and left to fend for themselves. He’s come a long way, but he’s still a shy guy working on building trust. He’s skittish, especially with fast movements or being picked up, and tends to follow the lead of more confident dogs. If there’s a calm pup around, Rudolph’s more likely to come out of his shell. Once he’s comfortable, he enjoys gentle attention and pets, though he’s never pushy about it. Rudolph is quiet, crate trained, and has a cute little food dance when he sees his bowl coming. But he’s also got quirks—like occasionally peeing on bowls if they’re left out too long (he’s got a thing for marking, and his foster home is busy). He’s not much of a player, so kids should be on the older side and respectful of his space. He needs someone patient, with a calm home, who’s willing to help him keep building his confidence. Rudolph’s not the type to jump into your arms—but give him time, and he’ll quietly become part of your pack. Rudolph is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
