Story
Introducing Daisy Mae! A spirited and sweet Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love. Though she tips the scales at just 10 pounds, Daisy Mae's zest for life knows no bounds. She's got a surprising knack for reaching heights you wouldn't expect, showing that size is no barrier to ambition! When she's not practicing her high jumps, she's a sweetheart who loves a cozy lap cuddle, though she's also quite content enjoying a bit of me-time. Meal times are a solo affair for Daisy Mae; she is protective of her food which is no surprise since before rescue she may have gone without at times. She has made friends with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys their company, suggesting she'd fit right into a household with other small dogs. Daisy Mae is a charming, energetic companion ready to leap into your life and heart. If you're looking for a blend of independence, affection, and spirited fun, Daisy Mae is your perfect pint-sized partner! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Simba is a very sweet boy.  Once he is comfortable, he wants to always be near his people or preferably in their laps soaking up all the love he can get.    He likes to spend time gazing out the windows or laying in a patch of sunlight. He loves to toss his toys high in the air and then race after them.   This little guy seems to have springs in his legs as he just bounces up and down when he plays, super fun to watch him have so much joy! He is underweight but has shown no resource guarding of his food and takes treats very gently. However, it's best to feed separate from other pets. He sleeps all night in his bed in a gated room and does fantastic, never making a peep during the night. He is completely potty trained as well. He enjoys being outside and chasing tennis balls and often brings them back so should be great at retrieving with more practice.     Simba does have a fair amount of stranger danger. However with patience, it has only taken a few hours to help him feel safe enough around new faces. He does pretty well walking on a leash but does have some reactivity towards other dogs. This is a work in progress and will take more training. He gets along  with our 2 resident dogs and reads their body language well, never trying to challenge or be pushy. He does well with being handled (baths, checking ears, etc) and has very little shedding.     If you are looking for a sweet little snuggler, Simba may be the dog for you! Simba is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sissy is a sweet, gentle, and playful little girl.  She is also timid, quiet, and even-tempered. Sissy’s favorite part of the day is playing with the other small dogs in her foster home. Outdoors is where she thrives, especially in the company of her small dog companions. She loves to run and play with them!  She loves exploring outdoors and soaking up the sunshine. A fenced in yard would be best for Sissy, allowing her to go in/out independently to do her business.  She enjoys going on walks and is learning to walk well on a leash, but she can startle easily with new sounds.  Sissy travels quietly in the car.  She enjoys playing and chewing on toys, and she loves to collect them in her bed!  With the influence of her furry siblings, Sissy's confidence is growing daily. It will be important to have a confident small dog in her forever home to help her continue to learn to trust people and the world. Sissy is very cautious when meeting new people and it is important to let her settle in on her on timeline.  Despite her reservations, she's not aggressive, just timid when it comes to new human interaction. Sissy does enjoy a good rub when she trusts you.  Now that she trusts us, one of her favorite times of the day is when she’s allowed up on our bed in the morning with all our dogs where she can get lots of rubs and cuddle next to all of us. Sissy will nudge your hand for more rubs!     Having a home where someone can be around more often would allow Sissy the time and exposure to her humans for her to learn to trust them quicker.  In her present foster home, Sissy took a couple weeks to feel comfortable to allow her foster parents to give her rubs.  After a few weeks she started following us around the house, and after a month she started greeting us at the door when we came home.  Her sweet playful side blossoms every day!  Sissy would be a wonderful companion for another small playful dog.  Sissy currently lives with small dogs and adults. Energetic large dogs and children make her very nervous.  Older respectful teenage children may be okay, but young children scare her; this may have to do with her history which is unknown.  A larger dog that is low key and quiet may be okay with slow introductions.   A quieter household with not a lot of visitors would make Sissy most comfortable.    Let’s recap; if you are looking for a playful companion for your small dog, and a girl whose sweet, gentle, quiet, silly, and even-tempered then Sissy may be the girl for you.  Every day she shows us what a sweetheart she is blossoming into!  It is important to have a home with no kids or older teenage children, or no high energy large dogs.  A fenced in yard would be the perfect home for Sissy.  Fill out an application; I’d love to tell you all about this sweet girl!      Sissy is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *Bonded to Puma*Allow me to introduce Taco and Puma , a tightly bonded duo! These inseparable companions found themselves at Animal Control and have been each other's steadfast companions for most of their lives. Despite occasional sass from Puma, they share a deep affection, often seen cuddling and exchanging kisses. In my household, they're affectionately dubbed "the minions" due to their unwavering devotion to their master—me. They eagerly jump into my lap, showering me with kisses regardless of what I'm doing. While they may be wary of strangers, they warm up more quickly when outside the home. Taco has a decent rapport with my 10-year-old son, although Puma remains cautious. While they can tolerate children, they thrive in a child-free environment. Both exhibit a case of "stranger danger," an aspect we're actively addressing. Their days are filled with playful antics, interspersed with moments of shared affection, snack breaks, and the occasional nap. Snow holds a particular allure for them, adding a whimsical touch to their playtime. Mornings begin early, with a trip outside, followed by some supervised exploration of the house. However, they often retreat to their crate for additional nap time. Breakfast at 9 a.m. marks the highlight of their morning routine. When I head to work, they're safely crated, usually opting to share a crate but with the option of separate ones if needed. They handle their crate time well until my return in the afternoon. A short walk and dinner follow, often leading to another nap. Evenings are spent in the company of the family, though they're restricted from full access to the house. As bedtime approaches, they happily snuggle up in their crate, ending the day with adorable displays of playfulness and affection—a testament to their trust and love. Here’s a sweet video of Taco and Puma playing together. And check out these sweet videos of Taco and Puma enjoying life: Video 1 Video 2 Video 3 video 4 Taco is from a local impound.
