Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cat Friendly Chihuahua! Meet Pedro Pedro is a 7-year-old ChiChi mix with a gentle soul and so much love to give. His family grew to big with many children, babies on up, and Pedro found himself largely to his own devices while the parents tended to all the children. Pedro has spent a lot of time in his crate, and he is potty pad trained!  We’re excited to show him just how cozy life can be. Because of his background, Pedro will need a little time to adjust to a new routine.  With consistency, encouragement and attention, we know he’ll continue to blossom in his new home. Pedro has been around kids, dogs, and even cats, making him a well-socialized little guy with lots of potential to fit into many different homes and lifestyles. He’s entering this next chapter with an open heart, and we can’t wait to learn more about his personality as he settles into foster care. Apply today if interested in this sweet little man. He is neutered and current on vaccines. Pedro has been found to have diabetis and will need daily medical care, but this doesn't stop him! He is full of love to give. His adoption fee will be waived to the right adopter!  www.uniteddobermanrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.United Doberman Rescue Adoption Process Application Submission: Complete the adoption application thoroughly. Story
Hi, I'm Beth but my foster parents call me Bunny. I am colored like a Rottie, with lots and lots of puppy energy, and barks like a hound dog. She is potty trained and enjoys racing around the backyard playing keep-away with the rest of her pack; especially with crinkle and squeaky toys. Bunny enjoys being sung to using her name ("Every BUNNY loves some BUNNY sometime"). Bunny wants her forever home to have lots and lots of cuddles and lots of lap time. She expects to sleep next to, touching, her favorite human. In return she will guard and protect her new family from all dangers. ##2706756##

Story
Meet McGee: The Elusive Girafuahua Narrated in your mind by Sir David Attenborough, please. In the wild and wonderful world of rescue dogs, there are many fascinating creatures. But few are as rare, as leggy, or as delightfully entertaining as the elusive Girafuahua. At first glance, McGee may appear to be a young Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix. But look closer. Notice the small athletic body. The impossibly long legs. The alert expression. The ability to stretch, perch, observe, and somehow know exactly what is happening on every counter, couch, toy pile, and human lap within range. Truly, nature is magnificent. McGee is friendly with humans and loves being part of the action. He has been a fan favorite at social outings. He enjoys toys, walks nicely on leash, and does well in the car. Potty Trained and Crate trained! He is also an expert treasure collector. Stuffies, bones, and beloved toys may be carefully gathered and relocated to his bed, where he can admire his collection like a tiny museum curator with giraffe legs. Like many rare species, McGee has bursts of joyful energy followed by serious cuddle time. He loves to play, explore, and proudly carry his treasures, but he is equally happy settling into a lap with his favorite person. McGee can do well with other dogs, especially with proper introductions and playful companions. However, this long-legged gentleman takes his relationship with his people very seriously and can be a little possessive of them around other dogs. He will do best with adopters who can provide structure, boundaries, and gentle reminders that love is not a limited resource. Adopt McGee, and prepare to share your life with one of nature’s most remarkable little long-legged wonders.

Story
Hershey was surrendered when her owner had to move and could not take her along. Hershey is calm, quiet, and very low maintenance. She keeps her kennel clean and is happiest parked on a soft bed or right in your lap. She is definitely a lap dog! She loves playing with her squeaky ball and her stuffed Lamb Chop toy. She does not go looking for entertainment and is content just being near her person and relaxing. She can be a little shy in new environments and does not enjoy a lot of commotion. She may get nippy if someone tries to pick her up, so she needs a home that respects her space and lets her come to people on her own terms. Once she settles in, she is affectionate and will happily become your shadow.Hershey is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. She is very skittish outside and will need slow, patient introductions to new outdoor environments. She also really dislikes wearing a halter when outside, so her future home should be prepared to work with her gently and help build her confidence over time.Hershey loves treats and will always show up when food is involved. She would do best on a structured diet to help her get to a healthier weight. She can be protective of her food and toys. She is currently learning to play fetch — she enthusiastically chases after the ball but has not quite figured out bringing it back yet! She also enjoys sitting by the patio door and barking at bunnies and squirrels. She does not need another dog and is perfectly fine on her own. She has lived with kids before, but she would do best in a calm, low-traffic home without a lot going on. Hershey is an easy companion for someone looking for a quiet, steady presence and a dedicated lap dog.

Story
Linda's happiest day was the day she walked out of the shelter and into a home. Her second happiest day? Every day since. This cheerful little girl approaches life with pure joy and enthusiasm. She absolutely loves people (clearly no one has told her she's part Chihuahua!) and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Sometimes she gets so overwhelmed by her happiness that she'll throw herself against you and melt into a puddle at your feet, making the sweetest little sounds of contentment and delight. Linda loves being close to her people and is fully prepared to apply for the position of your full-time shadow. She enjoys walks, has been doing well on leash, and keeps her kennel clean overnight. While she may protest briefly if she's separated from you while you're home, she settles nicely when she knows everyone has left for the day. Beneath her sunny personality is a sensitive soul. It's clear that life hasn't always been kind to Linda, but she continues to greet every new person and dog with trust, excitement, and a wagging tail. She thrives with gentle handling and kind voices, and she's eagerly learning what it means to be safe, loved, and adored. Because Linda can get a little carried away with her enthusiastic greetings and can be startled by rough handling or sudden movements, she'd do best in a home without very young children. In return, she'll offer endless affection, unwavering devotion, and enough happiness to brighten even the toughest day. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will adore you with her whole heart, Linda is ready to follow you wherever life takes you.

Story
Pound Cake was surrendered into rescue by his previous owner. He is a lovable couch potato with a goofy smile, partially in thanks to his tooth extractions that needed to be done and partially due to needing some way for all his love to be shared! He LOVES his people and wants to be near them as much as possible. He does struggle a bit with settling into the kennel so his fosters have used a medication to help him relax while kenneled. Pound Cake is affectionate and very sweet. He needs a home with consistency and patience while he settles into this next chapter of his life. Because he likes to jump and play-bite to greet people, he would do best in an adult-only home. While he does wonderfully walking on the leash, Pound Cake will gladly be your couch buddy for that movie-marathon, or curl up with you while you read a good book! He is still doing some work with potty-training and will need someone willing to continue helping him learn! Pound Cake’s absolute favorite part of the day is when his people return home from work, which just showcases what a sweetheart he truly is. In the right home, Pound Cake is sure to settle in and be a loving companion, ready to brighten your days with his big smile. Pound Cake is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 06/27/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
