Story
Mellow 9 years old Neutered male Chihuahua mix 10 lbs Hi, my name is Mellow and I typically live up to it! 7 months ago I was adopted and they said something about me going to live out my golden years. Unfortunately today I found myself returned to the rescue, the reason being that I started resource guarding my crate in my new home. My current foster mom said the solution to this is that I’m not allowed to have a crate anymore - I think she stinks, but whatever… I don’t really need one anyway since I’m a good boy when left out! She says I’m more than welcome to stay here as long as I need, but I’d be really happy to have another chance at one of those forever families she always talks about. Sure, I’m older and I have my opinions on things, but I’d fit perfectly into a family who appreciates a little old man with big feelings. Since I’m a senior pup, my adoption fee is only $300. - Dog/cat friendly - Mostly potty trained - Might benefit from access to pee pads - Walks well on leash, fenced yard not required - No young kids - No crate - I have my own play pen now! If you’re interested in adopting Mellow please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered - must travel to us in the Buffalo, NY area for a meet and greet. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. We ask that you are sure you are ready to welcome a dog into your home and are seriously interested in adopting BEFORE applying.

Story
Bozo aka Enzo 8 years old Neutered male Chihuahua/Corgi mix 12 lbs Bozo is a super sweet boy who’s ready for his new “leash” on life! We weren’t given any info on why he was surrendered to the shelter but he’s loving the comforts of being back in a home. He’s a more mature dog at 8, but doesn’t act much like a senior. He’d be happy to curl up on the couch or join you for an adventure this summer! - Dog/cat friendly - Crate trained - Working hard on potty training - Walks well on leash, fenced yard not required If you’re interested in adopting Bozo please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered, must travel to us in the Buffalo NY area for a meet and greet. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. Story
The Kramer family has chosen to sponsor the costs of transport and medical care for the 17 Walworth dogs as a gift in honor of all our fur babies we have lost over the years and all my friends' fur babies that have also crossed the Rainbow Bridge - none will ever be forgotten.  Our wish is that each of the Walworth-furred ones find loving homes where they are cherished.  Love, Cheryl, Dave, Ryan, and Cassie Kramer   Benny, born around August 1, 2020 and weighing approximately 13 pounds, came from a home in the Rochester area that needed assistance with their 30 dogs. The owners welcomed too many dogs into their home and eventually became overwhelmed, leading them to seek help. Benny is a delightful little fellow who loves his humans dearly. He may try to herd them if they stray off course, and watch out for playful nibbles on exposed toes, making him unsuitable for homes with small children. Initially shy around strangers, once Benny warms up to you, he becomes the most affectionate companion, eager to cuddle in your lap after some play time fun.  Benny is house trained but we like to mention that often these small dogs benefit from having potty floor pads handy for those just in case moments.  He's comfortable riding in cars, walking on a leash, and even enjoys kayaking—anything to be close to his people. Benny's cheerful demeanor and compatibility with other dogs, regardless of size, make him an exceptional pet who could easily become your most cherished companion.  Benny is also fine with cats.  In the last photo he is wet because it's after a bath and he felt feisty.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. Story
Omar was born around April 21, 2024, and weighs about 5 pounds. He and 21 other dogs were seized from a woman who was on the Animal Abuse Registry for Cattaraugus County. Omar is teeny tiny and just about as cute as they come. He has bilateral luxating patellas but gets around fine. He may require pain meds in the future. Please speak with your vet if you have any questions about luxating patellas before applying to adopt. Omar is shy but quickly becomes your best friend.  Omar loves other dogs.  We are suggesting older/respectful children if there are children in his next home, just because of his initial shyness and teeny tiny size.  You will have potty training to do and we often suggest potty pads for these teeny tiny dogs with teeny tiny bladders.  UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM:  It took Omar a day or two to get used to his new environment, and during that time, I let him do as he pleased as I went about my daily chores. I would wave and talk to him when I saw him, but I did not push him to be picked up or cuddled.  I let him decide when he was ready, and when he was ready, he bonded intensely. Now Omar does not leave my side, and I think if he could somehow glue himself to me, he would! Omar is the tiniest creature in my home of giant dogs, small dogs, cats, and a parrot, and he does well with everyone. However, he will at times chase the submissive cat in the home; he doesn't mess with the alpha cat. If you have a cat in your home, it will need to be dog-savvy. Omar still has some fear and will run and hide when the house gets overly rambunctious, so I think a home with no small children would be best. His luxating patellas don't slow him down, and he can jump up on couches and beds with ease.  Omar rides beautifully in the car and has been becoming more social at PetSmart outings.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_500.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
Scooby-Doo, where are you⁉️ I'm right here, at HAHS, trying to solve the biggest mystery of all 🐶🔍Finding out what lucky hooman will be the Shaggy to my Scoob! Hi! I'm SCOOBY - DOO!! Intake type: Surrender DOB: 9/1/24 Gender: male Breed: Medium sized mixed breed I was recently surrendered to the shelter due to my previous family's living arrangements drastically changing, which has resulted in having to find a new family to love me just as much as they did. My shelter family is doing their best to make me feel safe and loved during my stay, but a shelter is never quite like home, and that's all a pup could ever want. Much like the famous pup whose name I share, I'm a bit of a scardy cat...errm dog, I mean! I can be a bit timid with strangers at first, but with some kind words, patience, and lots of yummy Scooby Snacks, I'll start to open up and show you just how wonderful of a pup I am! Once I start to feel comfortable with you, I want nothing more than to sit by your side, or ontop of you and get all the lovins in the world. I've even been known to let myself melt into your chest for extra warm snuggly cuddles, which I've been told make everyone feel better. My shelter family says I'm just a big baby who needs someone to love and cherish me with all their heart and to never let me go, and that sounds amazing to me! I did live with other pups in my previous home, so I may be open to having another calm k-9 companion to keep me company and teach me how to be a brave confident boy. I have not been around any 2 legged friends, but my shelter family feels a home with older kiddos 12+ who are able to understand and respect my boundaries would be best. As always a meet and greet is required if you have other pups or kiddos in your home to be sure we can all be the best of friends! I'm more than ready to solve the mystery of who’s going to walk through the door and take me home for good (Mystery Machine not required)! 🚗💨 You, me and some Scooby Snacks, what do you say? 👱‍♂️ + 🐶 + 🥪🦴 = ❤️
