Is in the process of getting surgery for subluxation of rear patella’s all covered by Susie’s HopeI am a sweet 5 yr old girl. My foster mom calls me her shadow. I follow her everywhere and love lap snuggles. My favorite place to sleep is under the blankets snuggled as close as I can get to my person.I have a favorite blanket that I like to suckle and nibble on. I am vocal but not as bad as most of my relatives usually are, I’m more of an alert system. I’m completely house trained and will let you know when I need to go out. I’m great with all dogs and cats but prefer not to share my persons lap although I will tolerate it if I have to. To apply for me please visit STFFAR. Org for an online application. September 13, 2024, 5:10 pm

Story
This HAPPY girl is Annie. Annie hasn't always been happy, as she came from a recent hoarding situation with newborns. Annie is around a year old, small tri color Chihuahua. She currently weighs 12# but once her milk dries up she should be around 10#. Annie is great with other dogs, cats and older children. Her best friend at her foster home is a beagle. They love the company of each other! She will do great either with another dog or by herself. If by herself, she will need a retired family or someone who works from home. Annie is not housetrained but she is working on it. Annie is learning what it's like to be a member of a family and not a breeding machine. She is doing great on a leash! Annie will be spayed the week of July 21 (12 weeks after giving birth). She can still be adopted and the new owner will be responsible for taking her to one of our rescue partners for her spay. Annie is current on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. Annie came with much hairloss over her body. She has mostly grown all of her hair back now. She has one small patch on her back end that eventually should come back. If interested, please complete an adoption application https://acfrescue.weebly.com/forms.html Adoption fee: $250

Story
Let us introduce you to sweet Coco! She came from a hoarding house a couple of weeks ago. She has had at least two litters that we know of! Those days are behind her now! The home that she came from was overwhelming for this sweet little lady to be able to thrive and be truly loved there! Coco is a beautiful 3 year old Chi/Tzu mix that weighs 10.8#. This little girl has not ever had much in her life, but that is all about to change, now! Coco is full vetted. She has had her exam, vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. She is also on flea/tick prevention. She is spayed and chipped too. She never knew anything about being housetrained, but she is catching on rather quickly. If interested in Coco, please go to our website below and complete an adoption application https://acfrescue.weebly.com/forms.html Adoption fee is $450 and this covers all vet care, while in our care.

Story
Pokie is such a sweet pup. His big eyes make it seem like he's always concerned but he is really just very content. Pokie is kind of an old man at 9 but that's perfect for someone who wants a companion and not an exercise buddy. Pokie gets his physical activity in by following his favorite people everywhere they go. I cleaned the house one day and I bet he put 2 miles on those little legs. He's never in the way, he just wants to make sure that you aren't eating or going for a car ride without him. When not following his people around, he's lays around and will cuddle when it suits him. Pokie is very food motivated. He's a big fan of peanut butter flavor and frosted flakes - oopsy - but I think he would literally eat any food offered to him. A slow feeder was very helpful. Pokie doesn't play with toys and or know any commands. With some work, I bet he would learn some. Pokie isn't aggressive in any way - definitely just a lover of both kids and adults. He LOVES riding in the car. I would suggest having a passenger to hold him or get him a car seat. He's tiny and moves around a lot and it gets pretty dangerous. Pokie isn't totally housebroken but I think that will get better once he's neutered. We took him out frequently which is super helpful but not always possible. Pokie is fantastic in the crate and never had an accident in there. Overall, Pokie is a low maintenance, super sweet pup who deserves a loving companion. He will certainly give that companion loads of love back.

Story
Meet Annie YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS. Meet Annie, an adorable 7 or 8 year old Chihuahua weighing 7.6 pounds. Annie has had a challenging past, having been rescued from a rural county shelter along with seven other dogs. Despite her rough start, Annie is a sweet and playful little companion, ready to bring joy to her forever home. Personality: Annie is known for her sweet and playful nature. She enjoys chasing small tennis balls and playing with small toys. Her playful spirit makes her a delightful addition to any household. Compatibility: Annie gets along well with other nice dogs of any size. She would thrive in a home with canine companionship, making her an ideal addition to a family with existing dogs. Her friendly demeanor suggests that she can create lasting bonds with both humans and furry friends. Ideal Home: Annie's perfect home would have a secure fence, as she has an adventurous side. This will ensure her safety while allowing her to explore and play freely. In an ideal world, Annie would be accompanied by her buddy Leo, creating a perfect duo of canine companionship. Health Information: Annie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and is scheduled for a dental procedure to ensure her continued well-being. It's important to note that Annie, like so many Chihuahuas, has a luxating patella in one of her back legs. It doesn't slow her down, and she shows no signs of discomfort so it is not a problem. Adoption Considerations: Prospective adopters should be prepared for a playful and affectionate companion. Annie's adventurous spirit may require a secure environment to prevent any unplanned escapades. Additionally, her potential adopter should be comfortable with the fact that Annie has a luxating patella, although it doesn't affect her overall well-being at all. If you're looking for a charming and loving canine companion, Annie might be the perfect fit for your family! Adoption donation $250. Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet. Story
Meet Pearl Bailey! She is a lover of people and kittens. She likes to sleep in your arms but also likes being on the move. Her favorite past time is running after the big dogs in the yard and running with a stick in her mouth. She is fascinated by gumballs and likes to bat them around. She has the cutest squeaky bark. Her favorite treat is a baby bone. She chews it like a big girl. She is fearless when it comes to meeting kittens. She has quite a fascination for them and likes to play with them--probably because they're close to her size! She sleeps through the night while listening to lullabies. Given their young age, they are not yet housebroken so they will need an adopter prepared to take time to aid with this. They will need someone able to take them outside frequently during this process. The adoption fee is $425 which includes a microchip and spay/neuter surgery once old enough, as well as age appropriate vaccinations through adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application online through the link at the bottom of https://www.julietshouse.org/online-adoption-applications *All in our program are assumed to be mixed breed as none have had genetic testing. They are designated based on characteristics observed and noted.
