Story
Bingo is a deer head chihuahua that I got when he was only 8 weeks old. He is now 4 years old, his birthday being 7/30/2021. He will turn 5 this month! He grew up with one cat sibling who he loves very much. However he has never had any interest in befriending other dogs. He’s very afraid of them, especially large ones. He’s much more comfortable around cats. After about a year of having him he started having these sort of episodes, where he would get very off balance and lethargic. I took him to the vet multiple times and finally they decided he was having seizures. So he was put on a seizure medication that he gets every 12 hours. This has put a lot of restrictions on my life as well as his. He’s a very happy energetic dog and would do best if he were the only dog in the home. He deserves to be with someone who will be with him all the time and is able to medicate him and love him and play with him as much as he needs every day. And sadly I can’t be that for him anymore.

Octavia has a few thoughts. Hi. I'm Octavia. I'm 13 years old, slightly larger than a loaf of bread, and I've officially reached the age where I've earned the right to have opinions. Apparently...my opinions got me returned. My crimes? I object to nail trims. Passionately. If you've ever met a Chihuahua, you'll know this isn't exactly groundbreaking behavior. I also refused to potty on astroturf after my family moved. Listen, I spent 13 years learning that grass means bathroom. Fake grass? That's patio carpet. I'm not falling for that. So here I am, looking for a retirement home where someone appreciates a tiny old lady who knows exactly what she likes. Here's what you do get with me: A loyal little shadow Plenty of cuddles, once I decide you're worthy A lifetime of hilarious side-eye when the nail clippers come out. (do you expect anything less??) Enough sass to keep life interesting. I'm not asking for much. Just a soft bed, a human with a sense of humor, and preferably an actual patch of grass for my bathroom breaks. I'll even tolerate the occasional nail trim....eventually....after I've filed my formal complaint. At 13 years old, I deserve a family that understands that senior dogs come with a few quirks - and that those quirks are exactly what make us lovable. If you're looking for perfection, keep scrolling. If you're looking for a tiny queen with a big personality who just wants to spend her golden years loved, I'm waiting. Because after 13 years, being returned over something as simple as nails and grass is a pretty lousy ending.

Hello! I am Socks! Weight: 9.4# I am a certified lap dog. My friends describe me as friendly, affectionate, and playful. If you have other dogs in your home be sure to bring them in to meet me. I dont play too much with other dogs but I don`t mind a laid back 4-legged small dog friend. I don`t care for large dogs. I have never been around cats. Toys are taboo! I prefer chewing on bones! Besides that, I am unfortunately positive for heartworms. With the proper treatment, I can become heartworm free, but will need to be on a heartworm preventative long term. I will also need to be brought back to the shelter to undergo the treatments. This will be of no cost to you, and is fully covered by our generous Angel Fund! I will need a vet reference at the time of my adoption. Staff can answer any questions you may have regarding this.FWACC reserves the right to place me in my best fit home and will require a vet reference.
