Hi there, my name is Cody, and I’m a 12-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix weighing about 13 pounds. I'm a senior gentleman with a great personality and a lot of love to give to my new person. I spend most of my day relaxing inside the house where I can wander around freely and keep an eye on things. I sleep on my own cozy bed in my human’s bedroom. I’m house trained, leash trained, and I walk nicely on a loose leash. I might bark a little when I see new people or dogs. I prefer to take introductions at my own pace. Once I get to know someone, I warm up just fine. My favorite thing in the whole world is going for walks. I get excited to explore and sniff around the neighborhood. After a good walk, I’m happy to come home, nap, and enjoy a calm, peaceful day. I also enjoy spending time near my person—I’m a loyal little companion. I’m friendly or politely aloof with other dogs, but I do enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. My perfect home would be quiet, calm, and child-free, with someone who enjoys daily walks and doesn’t mind a loyal little shadow nearby. If you’re looking for a sweet senior who appreciates the simple things—walks, naps, and companionship—I might just be your guy.
