Story
Hi there! My name is Fisherman, but my friends just call me Fish. I’m an 8-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua with a big heart packed into a very small body. I’ve spent my life living indoors where I can roam freely or relax in my cozy crate, which is actually my favorite place to sleep. It’s my little den where I feel safe and snug. I’ve lived with cats and other dogs before, though I’ll admit I sometimes bark or grumble at them to let them know I’m around. It’s just my way of communicating! I’m pretty relaxed with pre-teens and can handle a little household chaos, but deep down I really appreciate a calm, peaceful space where I can relax and keep an eye on things. I’m what you might call a professional snuggler. If you sit down, chances are I’ll want to curl right up with you. I’m also very food motivated—treats are one of my favorite things in the world! Because I love my snacks so much, I prefer to enjoy them without sharing. Walks are okay, but I’m not exactly training for a marathon. I’ll happily go outside to take care of business, but after a short stroll I usually decide that’s enough exercise for the day. Sometimes I simply sit down and wait to be carried home like the tiny prince I am. At busy places like the farmers market, I much prefer riding in a cart and watching the world go by. I should tell you that I’m still working on my house-training skills. I’ll need someone patient who understands that learning takes time and consistency. I may also have a little trouble seeing in the dark, so stairs at night can make me nervous. My ideal home would be with someone kind, patient, and experienced with house training who can offer a calm place for me to settle in. My current person loves me very much but will be going through cancer treatment and won’t be able to keep up with the time and energy my training needs. What I can promise in return is a very sweet, loyal little companion who loves treats, cuddles, and being close to his people. If you’re looking for a tiny snuggle buddy with lots of love to give, I might just be your guy.

Story
Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. Finally, did we mention Baby Bat is a Chihuahua mix? That's a really important detail! Baby Bat is a great and loyal dog seeking a great family to adopt him! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Ruby! This sweet young lady is everything wrapped up in one adorable little package. Ruby was rescued from a hoarding situation where she lived with many dogs in a small apartment with very little human interaction. Because of that, the world is still new to her — but she’s learning every day that it can be a safe and happy place. Ruby bonds easily with other dogs and truly thrives with canine companionship. She looks to other dogs for comfort and guidance, and meeting new dog friends is her absolute favorite thing! A confident, friendly dog in her forever home would help her continue to blossom. If you’re looking for a dog who instantly bonds with people, Ruby may not be your girl just yet. She needs a patient, loving, and understanding home that will give her the time and space to build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe, you’ll see her sweet and silly personality shine. Ruby may be slow to trust, but she’s incredibly observant and learns quickly. From chasing her own shadow to hopping up on her hind legs to catch a moth, her goofy curiosity and innocent spirit will absolutely melt your heart. With patience, love, and a cozy spot to curl up at night, Ruby will grow into the most loyal and devoted companion. Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
ROMAN NEEDS A HOME~ Roman is brother to Princess. He is 3 1/2, almost 4 in May. He is a little Chihuahua looking dog. He has shitzu in his DNA. He wants to be alpha and should probably not go to a home with other male dogs. He is very scared of a lot of things. He likes attention but needs to be the one that comes to you. He doesn't like leashes. But if you want to take him on a walk, then you have to let him lead you. We lead him to walk with a treat, and then he starts going on his own. We have to go where he wants to go without pulling on the leash. He is very skittish. But once he is used to you, he loves you. (Princess is his sister - Hopes Haven dog)
