Sometimes a name just fits, and Precious is definitely one of those dogs. At 10 years young, she's a sweet, gentle, low-energy girl who can be timid at first, but give her a little time and her affectionate personality begins to shine. Precious gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has settled right into her foster pack (3 large dogs and 2 other chihuahuas) she's even starting to play a little! She loves being near her person—curling up beside her foster mom while she works or occasionally deciding they should share the office chair. She enjoys cuddles but is also perfectly content relaxing on her own. Once Precious bonds with you, she becomes your little lookout and will alert you when she hears something unfamiliar. She's shy with new visitors and just needs a little time to warm up. She's crate trained, walks well and has the cutest little prance. She gets around great and even uses a stool to hop onto the bed. Precious is also discovering TREATS—and she's a big fan! She's got quite the nose for people food, too. One exception: peanut butter is unacceptable. Precious has standards. She's still working on potty training and will let you know when she needs a nighttime potty break. She has no known pre-existing medical conditions. Precious may be 10, but she's still discovering new things and showing us more of her personality every day. Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness.In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. Asphalt is available through Project POOCH—learn more at pooch.org/asphalt Asphalt is an adventurous little guy! Don't be the one to try to tell him that little dogs don't do big dog things. He is always eager to join the guys on the walks, is a blast to train, and believes in balancing his work with equal enthusiasm for play. At only 6 lbs, Asphalt rewrites expectations that small dogs are only purse dogs. He joins in on the walks and is a good partner to strut with. The youth are perfecting his leash manners, and he continues to learn more each day. He is, however, still very much ok with being catered to when the time is right. (He even trained some of the youth to wear the sling during chore time so he could stick right by them.) Due to his small stature, Asphalt is looking for an adopter who will respect his autonomy and get consent before attempting to pick him up or leash him. He needs someone who will give him time to warm up and get comfortable in his new environment. If you are willing to do that, he will be your best friend! If you're looking for a pint-sized dog to show up big dogs in the trick department, Asphalt could be a great fit for you. He is incredibly treat-motivated and learns quickly. He's been working on adding to his trick list while at POOCH and would love to show them off to you!
