Story
We adopted Riley about 4 years ago when she was a puppy from a rescue in Portland that helped get dogs off the street in Mexico. Riley loves to lounge around in the sun or curl up under a blanket with you on the couch. We just took her through a basic dog training class in Salem. She’s playful and will play tug-o-war with ropes or fetch with kongs. She has been a great dog, but sadly our smaller, elderly dog has lost her hearing and beginning to lose her sight as well. This has resulted in the two dogs getting in fights when the elderly dog doesn’t hear any warnings that Riley needs space or is being protective with her food.

He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness.In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. This three-month-old spitfire is a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix with the heart of a lap dog and the confidence of a dog three times her size. He is always eager to join the guys on the walks, is a blast to train, and believes in balancing his work with equal enthusiasm for play. At only 6 lbs, Asphalt rewrites expectations that small dogs are only purse dogs. He joins in on the walks and is a good partner to strut with. The youth are perfecting his leash manners, and he continues to learn more each day. He is, however, still very much ok with being catered to when the time is right. (He even trained some of the youth to wear the sling during chore time so he could stick right by them.) Due to his small stature, Asphalt is looking for an adopter who will respect his autonomy and get consent before attempting to pick him up or leash him. He needs someone who will give him time to warm up and get comfortable in his new environment. If you are willing to do that, he will be your best friend! If you're looking for a pint-sized dog to show up big dogs in the trick department, Asphalt could be a great fit for you. He is incredibly treat-motivated and learns quickly.
