Story
Rocket enjoys classical dog music so much that he begins to fall asleep! Noises (both small and big) startle him. He appreciates slow interactions, soft petting, and gentle sweet talk. Once he begins to trust you, he will wag his tail softly to say he is happy to see you! When you become trusted by Rocket, he will willingly crawl into your lap, lick your hand, and come when called. He needs help with building his confidence and building appropriate socialization skills.

Story
Please meet JellyBean!! We believe her to be a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. Heavy on the Chihuahua part with obvious Dachshund traits like the longer body and short legs! This little tyke has been in the Program for several months because she was too young to have spayed when she arrived. But, now she is a fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped young lady who is ready to find her forever family! JellyBean acclimated beautifully into the pack at the foster home. She is great with other dogs and has no problem with the cat, either! In fact, she loves Everybody! Her foster Mom says, "she is a sweet, sweet girl who loves to snuggle." At approximately 8 months of age, JellyBean is all of 11 pounds. She is inquisitive and loves to play. JB is always ready to run with the pack; and she does her best to keep up with those little short legs going fast-fast!! 😊 If you are interested in JellyBean, please apply to adopt by completing the online adoption application near her photos on our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Story
Ruby - Chihuahua Mix - Female - 8 Years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Ruby (and her sister Pearl). These cute Chihuahua mix girls have been returned to us  as their owner became very ill and unable to care for them. The girls were very loved and this was a heartbreaking decision formt them, but it was in the best interest for the dogs. They have readjusted really well in their foster home. The girls are about 8 years old and have never been apart and would likely do best staying together. They are active and curious and quite friendly and outgoing, they love to meet new people. They do well with other dogs after proper introduction, we have not observed them around cats though. They are house and crate trained and are still getting the hang of that leash-walking business, but both are smart and learn quickly. Pearl is a little more confident than her sister, Ruby tends to be a bit more snuggly. We have only observed them around older kids, so a family with middle school kids or older would likely be fine. Ruby (and Pearl) is looking for a moderately active home, preferably together with her sister, but at minimum with another dog. They are not used to being alone all day, so someone who is home a lot would be best. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
We'll also keep you updated on Pearl's adoption status with email updates.
