Story
Ruby - Chihuahua Mix - Female - 8 Years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Ruby (and her sister Pearl). These cute Chihuahua mix girls have been returned to us  as their owner became very ill and unable to care for them. The girls were very loved and this was a heartbreaking decision formt them, but it was in the best interest for the dogs. They have readjusted really well in their foster home. The girls are about 8 years old and have never been apart and would likely do best staying together. They are active and curious and quite friendly and outgoing, they love to meet new people. They do well with other dogs after proper introduction, we have not observed them around cats though. They are house and crate trained and are still getting the hang of that leash-walking business, but both are smart and learn quickly. Pearl is a little more confident than her sister, Ruby tends to be a bit more snuggly. We have only observed them around older kids, so a family with middle school kids or older would likely be fine. Ruby (and Pearl) is looking for a moderately active home, preferably together with her sister, but at minimum with another dog. They are not used to being alone all day, so someone who is home a lot would be best. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
Beignet - Chi/Dachshund mix - Female - 8 Months - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Beignet: This adorable 8-month-old female Chihuahua/Dachshund mix joined out program due to the diligence and persistence of local rescuers who trapped her and her sister (Roux) behind a local Drugstore after they had been spotted abandoned there and where too shy to come directly to the rescuers - as far as trapping goes, this rescue was pretty quick and easy, they were ready to be rescued! Beignet is still a little shy when meeting new people, but thanks to her sister and the other dogs in the foster home, she is quickly learning the house rules and routines, she loves to play with other dogs, is checking out toys and LOVEs snuggling on the sofa. She does not yet love being crated (at this time for private meals only) and is still learning the concept of walking on leash, but she is smart and sweet and wants to learn. Oh, and she loves treats, so that helps. Beignet is looking for a home with another dog for her to play with and the learn from, someone with experience with shy dogs would be a bonus, she'll need a little patience in the beginning. She will repay kindness with snuggles and entertainment.
