Story
SWEET, CALM CHIWEENIE  DOB 1/1/18, weight 11 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Campanita, a very sweet and calm chestnut-and-white Chihuahua/ Dachshund mix, which is also known as a Chiweenie. I have the upright “bat” ears of a Chi and the Doxie’s elongated torso. My name is Spanish for Tinker Bell (as in “Peter Pan”), and I’m an affectionate, lovey-dovey gal who likes nothing better than to be nestled in my foster mom’s lap. Since I particularly like to hang out with hoomans, I follow my foster mom around the house just so that I can be a gentle, quiet presence near her. I get along great with the resident cats and well-behaved dogs in my foster home. I was rescued from a heartless owner who endlessly bred me so that he could sell my Chiweenie puppies. Finally when I was eight years old and had a difficult time birthing my last litter, he realized that he couldn’t exploit me anymore. It did not take much convincing by my HOPE volunteer advocates that it was in my best interests for him to surrender me to them. Boy howdy! That was the first day in the rest of my life! How things changed when someone started loving me – no strings attached -- instead of trying to use me for personal gain. Despite my tough history, I’m resilient! Now I’m ready to get firmly ensconced in everyone’s lap in order to share my sweet disposition and calm companionship with my forever family. Could it be you who will surround me with all the love I so deeply deserve? If so, arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart – just like I will patter around as your little shadow, following you throughout the house as you go about your daily activities. HOPE ID D26-0124-0006 Campanita’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Campanita will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. LOVES TO CUDDLE WITH HIS HOOMANS  DOB 8/1/25, weight 12 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Pablo, a sweet, friendly, and affectionate ball of energy who’s also a black Chihuahua mix fella with four white slippers! I do best with lots of close family contact. Wouldn’t you know that cuddling in Foster Mom’s lap is my favorite spot and where I require plenty of quality time? I adore playing with the other small dogs in my foster home, and I get along great with the resident cats and with kids. My size makes me an ideal apartment dog, but I relish my daily exercise. Nothing makes me happier than for Foster Mom to invest her time and energy into treating me like a big dog. I make it easy for her because, young as I am, I’m learning to walk on a leash and am crate-trained. True confessions: I’m still working on getting housebroken. I was found wandering the mean streets of Houston. Thank heavens a Good Samaritan scooped me up because I was much too small and young to fend for myself. I was so grateful to be welcomed into my foster home, but I’m now ready to bring my adorable puppy perkiness and loving personality to my forever home. Could that be with you? Then arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave itsy-bitsy paw prints all over your heart. HOPE ID D25-1227-0057 Pablo’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. Story
This sweet girl is the definition of a cuddle bug. She is incredibly loving, gentle, and happiest when she’s being held close. When you pick her up, she’ll softly lean her head onto your shoulder and settle right in — it’s her signature move and it melts everyone instantly. She has a low-energy, lap-dog personality and prefers snuggles over chaos. She follows her people from room to room and loves being near you, whether that’s curled up on the couch or snoozing at your side. She would be thrilled to sleep in bed with you, but she’s also comfortable in a crate and does well when crated while home alone. She’s great with kids and other dogs, making her an easy fit for families or multi-dog homes. Potty training is in progress and improving with routine, and she’s already learning her name and responding more each day. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to love you and be loved back, she is truly something special. 💕 Penny is a female Chihuahua mix with an estimated date of birth of 10/10/25. As of 1/10, she weighs 6 lbs.

Story
At just 6 months old and 7 pounds, little Laverne the Chiweenie is the perfect pocket-sized companion with a big personality! This adorable girl is full of playful charm and brings joy everywhere she goes. With her bright eyes and happy spirit, she’s always ready for fun, cuddles, and being your shadow. Laverne has been through more than a puppy ever should. When her previous family was deported, she and her sister Shirley suddenly found themselves without a home. Despite the change, Laverne has remained a loving, resilient, and happy pup who is ready to start her next chapter with a forever family. She has a wonderful medium energy level — playful and fun, but also happy to relax and snuggle. Laverne gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and kids, making her a fantastic addition to almost any home. She is pee pad trained and doing great with her puppy manners. Laverne is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and kept on all preventatives, so she’s completely ready for her forever home. This tiny girl has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give her the safe, happy life she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and devoted little companion, Laverne is your girl. ❤️ Laverne can be adopted solo or together with her sister Shirley. They are both currently being fostered in Houston but can be transported to several states, including Canada to the right home. Send an application via savesomesouls.com as the first step to complete the process.

TINY DOG WITH A BIG PERSONALITY  DOB 10/9/21, weight 10 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Mochi, a very affectionate, friendly, and lively white Japanese Spitz/ Pomeranian mix gal who promises to be your ideal companion since I combine a tiny body with my big personality. My glorious fluffy coat and feathered tail are almost as attractive as my cheerful, eager-to-please personality. I'm a bright, alert, high-energy girl who's always ready for a walk or playtime. My previous owners kept me living outdoors, where I felt abandoned and ignored. Since I’m obviously a sociable pooch who loves people, a Good Samaritan noticed my sad situation and inquired about me. My owners admitted that they didn’t have time to care for me and agreed to surrender me to HOPE. Thank heavens my foster mom gives me plenty of the attention that I deserve, but unfortunately I struggle with separation anxiety if I’m left alone for long periods. I’m working on overcoming the scars of my past emotional abuse, and I’m grateful for the friendship of the resident small dogs and cats who keep me company while Foster Mom is at work. I’m kennel-trained and working on my housebreaking. Now I’m ready to be the loyal, devoted companion of my forever family, which can include kids who are old enough to know the difference between a toy dog and a toy. With my active, high-spirited demeanor and affinity for hoomans, could I be your next perky pet? I can’t wait to show you my high intelligence when I master tricks, puzzles, and games with ease. Arrange to meet me today! HOPE ID D26-0124-0004 Mochi’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas.
