**THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE DIRECT CARE OF HAPPY TAILS HAPPY HOMES - WE ARE ASSISTING IN THE REHOMING WITH ITS CURRENT OWNERS. If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform** Chip (affectionately known as Chippy) is a 6-month-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a deeply loyal and affectionate nature. He forms strong bonds with his people and thrives when he can stay close to the humans he trusts. Chip is sensitive, intelligent, and playful, and he does best with routine, structure, and consistency. Chip has special behavioral needs related to anxiety and would be happiest in a calm, low-stimulation home with an experienced dog owner. He has been evaluated by a veterinarian, and his behaviors — including a repetitive spinning behavior — are believed to be anxiety- or OCD-related rather than neurological. He is crate trained and views his crate as a safe, comforting space where he can settle and decompress. Because of his sensitivity, Chip is not a good fit for a busy or chaotic household. He would do best in a quiet adult home without young children. He can be nervous and vocal around new people at first, but once given time and patience, he warms up and shows his sweet, affectionate personality. His interactions with other dogs can be hit or miss, so he would likely thrive as an only pet or with very slow, thoughtful introductions. Chip was rescued from a shelter at approximately three months old, and his early background is unknown. With patience, structure, and continued training, he has the potential to be a deeply rewarding companion for the right person who understands anxious dogs and is willing to meet him where he is. We are committed to ensuring the best possible match for Chip. Full details, videos, and veterinary records are available to serious adopters. He requires an experienced, patient home, and we are happy to continue fostering him until the right placement is found — one where he can feel safe, understood, and truly at home.

🐾 Meet Cookie! 🐾 This sweet boy is a male Chihuahua mix who’s ready to find his forever home! 💙 ✅ Neutered ✅ Vaccinated ✅ Microchipped ✅ House-trained Cookie is playful, affectionate, and LOVES roughhousing with other dogs. He’s also a total cuddlebug who enjoys sleeping in bed with his people and giving kisses. He’s smart, listens well, and loves being part of the action! 😘 He currently lives in a foster home with dogs, chickens, and birds — and gets along great with all of them. He will chase cats if they run, so a confident cat is best. 💬 He’s cautious with new people and will bark to let you know he’s unsure, so he needs a home that’s patient and willing to give him time to settle in and build trust. ❗️No young kids — Cookie does best in a calmer environment with adults or older, respectful teens. 🐕‍🦺 We’d love to see him in a home with another playful dog — he really thrives when he has a buddy! 🏃‍♂️ He’s an active little guy, so his ideal home will be one that enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping him engaged. 📍Ready to meet him? Apply today at: www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com Give Cookie the chance to settle in — and he’ll reward you with endless love. 🐶❤️ #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #ChihuahuaMix #PlayfulPup #MainStreetMuttRescue #AdoptCookie

Story
Meet Paco — the pint-sized adventurer with the floppiest ears, a heart full of love, and the sweetest little smile you’ve ever seen! 🌞 This tiny chihuahua-terrier mix (your guess is as good as ours — rescue magic at its finest!) is about 2 years young and ready to find his forever person. He’s got this perfect tan-red coat that practically glows in the sunshine, and eyes so big and brown they could melt a popsicle in January. Paco may be small, but his personality has layers like a fancy little dog burrito — soft, spicy, and a little shy at first taste. He’s the kind of boy who takes his time to trust new people, but once he does? He’s your best buddy, loyal nap partner, and possibly your personal shadow. He’s incredibly sweet with his foster parents and just needs someone patient enough to let him open up on his own timeline. Watch Paco swim, run, and play in his video! https://youtu.be/qFgaypcolVw?si=PEJbzdl6SNG8mebe He currently lives with three foster dog siblings who he absolutely adores! They go on road trips, vacations, and adventures together — from zooming around the yard to swimming in beautiful spots (yes, this little guy swims!). With other dogs, he’s gentle and polite, preferring to observe before joining the fun. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll do cute little runs and play sessions, but he’s not a roughhouser. Paco would do best with a low to medium-energy dog friend who will let him come around naturally — no pushy pups, please! When it comes to cats, Paco is what we’d call “cat curious but cautious.” He met a calm kitty named Biggie and did great — a little nervous, but respectful and tolerant. A chill, dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind a nervous little dog would be perfectly fine for him. As for kids, Paco hasn’t been officially kid-tested yet, but given how shy he can be, he’d probably prefer a calm, adult home or one with older, dog-savvy teens who understand that good things (and tail wags) take time. This little man is not cut out for apartment living — he’s more of a “quiet home with a yard” type of guy. New noises, fast movements, and big groups of people can overwhelm him. He’ll thrive in a peaceful home with gentle routines, understanding humans, and maybe a friendly dog to help show him the ropes. Paco is still learning that the world isn’t so scary — and with patience, kindness, and a sprinkle of humor, you’ll see his shy side melt away into the most loving, loyal little companion. Once his tail comes up and that tiny smile shows, it’s over for you. You’ll be in love. 💛 Paco’s dream home? Somewhere calm, cozy, and full of love. Someone who doesn’t mind going slow at first but can imagine the joy of watching a timid rescue bloom into his goofy, snuggly, happy self. Because once you earn Paco’s trust — it’s forever. What rhymes with cute? Scoot! Of course it does because Snoot sure is cute! This little guy showed up and honestly ran off with my whole heart! From the moment I picked him up and he melted into my arms, I knew he was going to be a special one and that he was. Watch Scoot's loving personality here: https://youtu.be/dvRBpbWjY7s Scoot is currently 8 months old. We suspect he may be a Chihuahua / Terrier mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! He has little legs, a long body, and a perfectly curled tail so he could be a whole bunch of things. Whatever his breed is, he loves people, is gentle and affectionate with a calm presence. Scoot is living in a foster home and has met a variety of dogs though he is most comfortable with a friend who is similarly sized to him. Because he is growing and changing we anticipate he could be comfortable with any size dog though he would prefer a more peaceful home to match his energy. It is easy to see Scoot being someones adoring lap dog. He absolutely glows when you sweet talk him and melts at the chance to curl up next to you for a belly rub or just being close. He has a gentle mouth, taking treats softly and giving the sweetest little kisses. I will think about him lovingly well into the future, he just really touched my heart. We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! Scoot is from one of the MOST desperate areas in the entire US, based on statistics. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies daily. So, this puppy needs you! And when you choose to adopt a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place. Scoot is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You are going to love this boy! Gentle kisses are guaranteed! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68d6b4b0f6e0fbf1ac0795c4 Questions? Story
If you want to be adored, to always have a lap-warmer, and experience no shortage of love, meet Miska. She is a dream dog! Small and devoted…Meet Miska! At just 24 lbs and around 2 years old, this petite chihuahua-mix girl is a tender-hearted sweetheart with a long body, short legs, and a whole lot of love to give. (She is a rescue so no guarantee on breed or birthday.) Take a look at her sweet, lap-loving nature here- https://youtu.be/na32Pl5YbvE Miska is fostered in a loving home and her fosters affectionately call her a “total love-bug” because all she wants is closeness, your affection, and a soft place to snuggle. She bonds beautifully with her people and will happily curl up for cuddles any chance she gets. Plus, she is house and crate trained! Miska is naturally on the softer, shyer side when it comes to other animals. She doesn’t need to be an only dog but boy oh boy would she love it! When meeting new dogs its easy to see she is a bit uncomfortable, like watching a stranger strike up a conversation with your socially awkward best friend- kind of awkward. She isn’t into the idea of fast-tracking friendship with new dogs and prefers a co-existing approach over a full-court press approach to saying hello. In other words, the pushy dogs are not for her. She handles herself with grace and is most relaxed with her people nearby and her dog-friends relaxed and easy-going. She isn’t really a “let’s play!” dog- she’s a “hold me, love me, and let’s just be together” dog. For that reason, she would thrive either as the only dog, soaking up all the attention or in a home with a calm, aloof dog who can respects her space and wont rush their connection. The story was pretty much the same when she met our house cat. She was timid meeting him but did not try to chase and instead preferred hiding with her person for comfort. She may be able to coexist with one calm cat who won’t pester her, but a slow intro and patience will be key. What Does Miska Love Most? • Being in a lap • Being held by her people • A peaceful home • Easy-paced walks • A routine complete with love and trust When she is a bit uncertain, she’ll hop up to check- in and she is no doubt built with a deep loyalty and an incredibly sweet personality. Miska is a perfect match for someone looking for a tiny best friend, not a playmate for other pets. She loves meeting new adults and warms up beautifully with gentle people. If you want a companion who stays close, follows you around, and lives for affection, Miska is ready to be your little shadow and devoted cuddle-bug. Ready to welcome Miska home?
