I am microchipped, heartworm tested, spayed, and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Affectionate, Curious Things my foster says about me: "Melissa is a really sweet and affectionate dog. She is happiest when she is right next to you or on you! She loves going for walks and investigating everything in the backyard. She is very friendly and accepting of the other dogs in the household, they like to play and snuggle together. She can be shy when meeting new people or big dogs, but given time she will warm up. Despite Melissa's size she is fairly athletic, so she is great at climbing onto chairs if they aren't pushed in." Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 5 or 6/10 Housetraining Status: I have been doing really well with my housetraining while in foster! I should do well in a home: I love the other dogs in my foster home, so I should do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. I have never met a cat before so my humans don’t know how I will be around them. I would do great in homes with children of all ages. My favorite activities are: I like playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. I also love being with my humans and will never say no to love and pets! Meet Peaches! Peaches is approximately 5 years old and is thought to be a Chihuahua/Terrier type mix. Unfortunately, Peaches was removed from unlivable conditions along with a couple of other dogs. Although she suffered neglect and mistreatment, she was immediately sweet with us and has been doing better ever since! Peaches is in a foster home with another dog, and has met older children and done well! She has also been exposed to cats and should do well in almost any home where everyone is properly introduced and supervised. She's very social. When she first entered her foster home, she did have a couple of accidents at first, but it took her just a few days to catch on to the new potty routine and now she's only pottying outside! Considering how she lived before, this is remarkable progress! She is a great mix of cuddly and loving, while also being a great little walking companion. She's got a sweet disposition and we can't wait to find her family who adores her as much as we have! Story
Meet Randy! Randy is approximately 2 years old and is thought to be a possible Chihuahua/Terrier type mix. (we can't know for sure without a DNA test) but this little 12 pound nugget is ready to steal your heart! Randy was found as a stray and was not claimed by his family, so we don't know what his life was like prior to being found and we're going to be learning about him as we go. This means that his new family should be open to learning about him as well! So far, Randy has been comical, sweet, confident, active and has a beautiful singing voice when he wants attention. Randy has been keeping his kennel clean, so he may already be potty trained, but his new family should expect to do a refresher course so that he can learn the new routine. He walks beautifully on leash and knows sit, but he's a super sharp little guy and would probably pick up new commands very quickly! We think Randy will do well with other pets and older/respectful children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. While he loves to cuddle up in his dog bed, he's also active enough to join you on walking or hiking and would make a great adventure buddy! Don't underestimate these little guys - they can make some of the best travel sized explorers! Randy is such a funny, happy little guy who is ready to steal your heart and be yours forever. Meet Trudy 💗 Trudy is a little sweetheart and a true lap dog. She loves her toys and enjoys playtime, but she’s happiest when her person is close by. Trudy is very much a little shadow and prefers to keep her foster mama within sight at all times. She has done wonderfully with house training and has had no accidents indoors. Trudy goes outside every three to four hours with her foster sister pups and knows exactly what to do, especially since she’s not a fan of the cold and likes to get business done quickly. She sleeps all night in her crate and keeps it clean and dry. Trudy is full of personality and charm and brings lots of smiles wherever she goes. Meet Josie 🐾 Josie is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart and then never gives it back. She’s a timid, sweet girl who truly lives up to the meaning of her name. A promise of growth when given time, love, and patience. And wow does she bloom when she feels safe. One look at the heart marking on her side and you’ll know exactly who she is. A walking reminder of how much love you give her and how much she gives right back. Josie may be a little wary of new things at first, but she adjusts quickly and just needs a moment to take it all in. Once she’s comfortable, she wants to be right by you or sitting on you soaking up the love. She does great with people who respect her space and let her approach first.
