Hi! My name is Melissa! I am a 1 year old Rat Terrier mix. I am microchipped, heartworm tested, spayed, and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Affectionate, Curious Things my foster says about me: "Melissa is a really sweet and affectionate dog. She is happiest when she is right next to you or on you! She loves going for walks and investigating everything in the backyard. She is very friendly and accepting of the other dogs in the household, they like to play and snuggle together. She can be shy when meeting new people or big dogs, but given time she will warm up. Despite Melissa's size she is fairly athletic, so she is great at climbing onto chairs if they aren't pushed in." Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 5 or 6/10 Housetraining Status: I have been doing really well with my housetraining while in foster! I should do well in a home: I love the other dogs in my foster home, so I should do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. I have never met a cat before so my humans don’t know how I will be around them. I would do great in homes with children of all ages. My favorite activities are: I like playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. I also love being with my humans and will never say no to love and pets! I am current on my vaccines, neutered, and soon to be heartworm tested and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Affectionate, Playful Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I can be a little shy of new people at first, but it doesn't take me long to get used to them. Treats help too! Once I'm comfortable with you I just want to be by your side and getting affection. If you're looking for a friend to keep you company, I'm your guy! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6/10 Housetraining Status: I have been good at keeping my kennel clean, however it may take me some time to adjust to a new schedule. I should do well in a home: With slow and calm introductions I should do well with children of all ages. I lived with another dog in my previous home, so I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats as I've never lived with one. My favorite activities are: My favorite thing in the world is being with my people and getting affection from them! Meet Poppy! Poppy is a special girl who is ready to find her forever home. She’s a bit shy by nature, but with time, patience, and lots of love, her sweet personality shines through. Recently, she’s begun to warm up to people more and more and it’s been wonderful to watch her start enjoying life. Poppy loves the simple comforts: good food, long naps in her dog bed, and she’s even beginning to play with other dogs. She is currently fostered with dogs, cats, and kids and does well with all of them. She is fully crate trained with no accidents and is doing great with potty habits, going outside or using a pee pad. Poppy does have some anxiety, especially when it comes to walking on a leash, but she is making progress with gentle, consistent training. She will do best with a calm, patient adopter who understands that confidence takes time and is willing to guide her at her own pace. Poppy is a good girl with a tender heart who needs someone willing to show her the love and reassurance she deserves.
