This tiny peanut is Max — a 4-lb, 7-month-old Chihuahua with a huge personality packed into a very small body. Max is friendly, spunky, and absolutely adores curling up in a warm lap. He may be little, but he keeps up with dogs of all sizes and loves playing with toys — even the ones bigger than he is!Max is currently living with other dogs and doing wonderfully. He’s a typical happy puppy who enjoys playtime, companionship, and lots of love.Max does need a special adopter. Because he is so tiny, he will require a home that is very careful and mindful about keeping him safe. The day he arrived in our care, he experienced a seizure. Since switching to a limited-ingredient diet, he has been a completely typical puppy with no additional episodes. However, due to his history, Max will need an adopter who is prepared — physically, emotionally, and financially — to care for a pup who could potentially have seizures in the future.In return, Max promises a lifetime of love, loyalty, and happiness. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! After a life in commercial breeding, I am ready to retire from motherhood and focus on what truly matters… ME! I’m discovering all the good things in life for the very first time, so if I seem a little nervous at first, it’s only because everything is so new. Give me a little time and patience, and I warm up beautifully. Once I choose you, I’m devoted. I follow my foster mom everywhere and prefer to be right by her side. She’s basically my favorite person in the whole world. I don’t mind my foster dad, but I do have opinions about my large canine foster sister. She sometimes forgets that I am the princess of this house and tries to steal attention. I’m not afraid to politely (okay… sometimes not that politely) tell her to back off. The good news? I coexist just fine with respectful dogs who understand personal space. The honest truth? I’d probably love to be your one and only. I have eight years of missed snuggles to make up for, and I’m on a mission to collect them all. I also live with several cats and couldn’t care less about them. They do their thing, I do mine. Easy. When I’m not supervising my foster mom, you’ll find me tucked into my cozy bed. I am a professional napper. While she’s at work, I relax in my playpen in my little bed and keep it clean and dry all day. I sleep in my crate at night and do the same. I am a quiet girl who hasn’t quite found her voice yet, but I do make the cutest little snorting noises and occasionally snore softly (okay… sometimes not that softly). After all, I’m catching up on years of well deserved rest. I’m still learning about potty training. My foster mom takes me outside, but I’m honestly not quite sure what the assignment is out there. I haven’t mastered it yet, but I am a tiny adult lady, not a wild puppy, so accidents are small and predictable. With consistency, patience, and maybe a little warmer weather, I know I’ll figure it out. I haven’t met any young kids yet, but loud noises and quick movements can startle me, so I would likely do best in a calm, adult home that lets me move at my own pace. If you give me that safety and time, I promise I will blossom into the most loyal, loving little companion. I don’t need much. Foster home: Marshall, WI Activity level: Low Friendly with: Dogs, cats, and older, respectful kids. Robbie is teeny, and has poor vision and hearing. He would not know to get out of the way of typical child play, and may get injured. Meals: High quality dry small breed kibble mixed with canned, moist food.
